Bistro Romano Ratings and Reviews
Our waitress Vienna (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) was absolutely fantastic. She was attentive and made the amazing dinner even better! For being Valentine’s Day I would have totally understood if things were a tad slower paced but she did an amazing job staying on top of every course and need we had. A must go! We will absolutely be back for another great meal :)
Our first time there. It got great reviews online. The waitstaff were very pleasant. Our Caesar salad came right out.. The entrees took forever. By the time I got my chicken, it was completely dried out. I was offered something else, but we had waited long enough. They seemed very busy that night, but we live in the burbs, and this restaurant is not worth the trip into town to try again.
My friend and I celebrate our birthdays by having dinner at Bistro Romano each year. The martinis (gin for her, vodka for me) are a special treat and the food is always superb. We also always have the table-side Caesar salad. It's always delicious, but this time it was exceptional! Our waiter, Frank, did a great job with the salad, and was great overall - attentive without being overbearing. Another great celebration at Bistro Romano!
We had a wonderful meal! The food was delicious and the service was spot on from the moment we walked in the door to the minute we left. Love the setting - wood beams and exposed stone. Piano player in bar area was great and my drink was fantastic. I had mentioned it was our anniversary on Opentable so they had rose petals all over the table for us. Great attention to detail!
Great atmosphere and great food! Unfortunately, we had an arrogant waiter. We bought an overpriced bottle of red wine and he noted it was a “twist off”. Very disappointed in the service but the atmosphere luckily outweighed the negative experience.
Went to Bristro Romano for a date night and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was amazing super friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. We had the duck breast (amazing) and one of the specials of the night (spring chicken) along with their fantastic table side Caesar salad. The atmosphere was very romantic and cozy. I would definitely recommend this for a special occasion or a regular date night.
The experience was just wonderful overall. The Caesar salad was a standout, really lived up to the hype. Seafood tasted fresh, our table had the scallops and a seafood medley consisting of shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari. Dessert was a little disappointing, did not particularly like the use of a chocolate sauce with the tiramisu. Would definitely come again.
Great restaurant, fantastic food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere perfect for date night. The only down sude is that if you were sitting at one of the tables near The Wine Cellar, you are packed and extremely tight so much so that the other tables around you might as well be in your own party. I got bumped by the salad cart more times then a rookie flight attendant serving booze from an aircraft beverage cart! That was extremely annoying, but the only negative I can think of. All in all, it is a great restaurant and should not be missed. Just make sure you ask for a booth.
Our table was not ready for our reservation, so the manager came over to us at the bar and personally apologized then offered a free round or appetizer. That sort of hospitality is lost on a lot of restaurant managers, but was refreshing. Definitely going back.
I have loved this restaurant since first discovering it just about a year ago. They always take exceptional care of me, and the food makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I had the duck on this visit, and it was cooked perfectly. Presentation was beautiful, and it paired wonderfully with the Forefront Pinot Noir. A perfect dinner date.
Went during Center City District restaurant week in Philly on Friday 1/26/2018 and we had a great meal: the food was exceptional. We had been to Italy in September 2017 for two weeks, and this food was the best Italian we've had since our trip. We made reservations to go back again next week. The downstairs dining room is quiet, cozy and steeped in history.
We had an excellent night at Bistro Romano. The service was incredibly respectful, polite, and fast! Everything seemed to flow smoothly. We had an excellent server (Vienna) who gave us delicious recommendations. We were very thankful for her suggestions. The atmosphere was stunning, my fiancée and I would definitely like to go again for a special occasion.
