    What an amazing improvement since our last visit!! The menu belies the exceptional dishes that arrived on our plates. Each dish was a masterpiece from an inventive & well-trained chef. Matt, our Sommelier, was wonderfully attentive & helpful with wine pairing for each course. Excellent food, attentive, friendly & well-informed staff.

    The menu was uninteresting. The place lacked ambiance. This restaurant needs to get back to the way it was when it was part of the Observatory hotel

    Bistro Remy is the new signature restaurant in the Langham Hotel. The hotel had been known as The Observatory and was part of the Orient Express group. Galileo was its restaurant. Galileo was designed with an old world theme and featured quite an exotic menu. The new Bistro Remy is light and airy. It is also quite a bit larger as the new owner has opened up what had been three distinct rooms into one open plan area. I felt it was much more comfortable. One of the staff put it quite well when he said the aim was to make both the restaurant and the menu “accessible.” Where Galileo had a menu with dishes that were obscure to most, Bistro Remy offers very high quality but mostly familiar choices.

    Overall Bistro Remy was disappointing as the food was only a step above pub food. The restaurant had about six tables of guests and the wait staff were running around unorganised. Being a past regular of the restaurant, the redesign of the room has affected all elements of the restaurant. There is no swish service, beautiful meals or pleasant ambience at this five star hotel. This is a restaurant for the tourists who want a basic meal.

    The restaurant has a lovely ambience. The food is innovative & delicious. Unfortunately our waiter was unqualified for a restaurant of this calibre. We needed to ask what was the soup of the day. On ordering oysters we were told they'd run out, but wait a moment I'll check with the kitchen. We were informed there were 4 left. Half way through our meal another wait person came to the table to inquire whether we'd like more bread. We hadn't been served bread at all. Service was a little FaultyTowers but all in all a good time had by all.

    best restaurant in Sydney by far. Great service and great food.Best steaks this side of Vegas. great to see the personal arrival greeting you receive.They do not show you where the toilets are,rather they take you.Plenty of room between tables.Staff are proper waiters who have been properly trained-a rarity in Sydney.On the ball customer service and I mean on the ball. Along the lines of the old Manor House in Balmain in the 1980s-superb.Great prices for the quality of the food.They are on a winner. Staff outside to open the doors of the arriving cab and staff to obtain a cab for you. the list goes on . Try it for yourselves.Prove me wrong. ps. on a par with Prime restaurant in the Bellagio in Las Vegas

    The food in general is above average. The entrees - black ash tortellini and twice cooked souffles set a high bar. The mains - duck confit and black kingfish are nice but lacking a bit of WOW factor. The best dish of the night is the sauteed mushroom, just marvelous. The most disappointing is the chocolate dessert, perhaps just not our palate. Service is warm and welcoming. With only 5 or 6 tables on the night though we struggled to get attention (waited for almost 20 mins) to settle our bill.
