Bistro Perrier at Walnut Hill College
Walnut Hill College distinguishes itself from other hospitality schools with its open-to-the-public restaurants. In each of our restaurants, ambiance and cuisine collide to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience that guests won’t soon forget. From Bistro Perrier to The Great Chefs, guests can explore diverse menus and receive exceptional food and service—all provided by our students. We look forward to treating you to a memorable night of fine dining.
Great restaurant. The setting makes you feel like you're in Europe. Superb cooking. Very competent staff.
What a wonderful experience. The decor was delightful. The dining area looked like a alfresco
courtyard. The staff were students of the Walnut Hill College. The food was excellent.
After dinner, we asked to see the Pastry Shop. The staff was accommodating and opened the
shop for us. We were able to purchased freshly baked desserts to bring home. Will definitely
recommend Bistro Perrier to friends.
good food at a good price. staff very attentive. limited menu but done well
Great atmosphere. Food was incredible. Good wine selection. Knowledgable staff/students.
Food was great, and the service was impeccable!
My husband and I would definitely recommend Bistro Pierre at Walnut Hill College. 9/11/19 was our second visit and it was for our wediversary. We had last been there in July for my birthday. The bistro has an enchanting atmosphere, superb service, scrumptious food and libations. The desserts could use some improving but that is my only criticism. Love this place!
What a great treat! A perfect place to go when you want to eat good food, talk with friends & family... in a great atmosphere. Oh - and with knowledgeable students eager to serve you! To top it off, prices are very fair. We’ll come back!
We were here for our Anniversary. We felt as though we were dining in a French cafe. The food was delicious, ambience superb, and desserts delectable. The restaurant is completely run by students who bend over backwards to attend to your every need. Parking is located next to the restaurant. This is a hidden gem that supports it’s students.
Awesome ambiance. Awesome food. But the experience was mostly about the students with whom we interacted. They were so knowledgeable and humble. They were friendly and open to learning. The place itself is gorgeous. Worthy of a small wedding ceremony, to be honest.
Great place and college! They are really preparing the students for the future. Impeccable service
Bistrot Perrier is a lovely training restaurant where the food is delicious. The service was also excellent. The courtyard is a lovely dining place and the bubble room very interesting looking.
I understand this is a teaching school, which is great, but they didn't ask for feedback and did not seem ready to be servers. The only vegetarian entree was very small and we need to stop somewhere after we left to get more food. It would be best if feedback was asked (which can be optional for the diner).
We were not very pleased with our meal. The salmon was undercooked and the portion was very small, with little sides. The chicken and barley dish was very salty. Overall, the atmosphere and staff were very nice. I was expecting a bit more for the price and the quality was not good.
The night was great from the moment we walked in . Everyone from the hostess, servers, etc. were wonderful. The Food was super. I told the server to give complements to the chefs the rack of lamb was the best I have tasted. Great night all around.
Dillon was very attentive to our every need. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly. Bread was outstanding. Salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Carly’s ravioli were a unique combination of delightful flavors. We will return. Loved it.
When the prices were low, you could forgive any missteps. Now that the prices match those of a nicer dining spot, any shortcomings are much harder to forgive. Many of the dishes were so salty it almost seemed malicious. Servers could not answer questions nor follow through to get answers. The space is pleasant but the evening was pricey and quite a disappointment.
The restaurant captures the spirit of fine dining in a beautiful room. There are some rough edges because it’s run by culinary and hospitality students, but those are minor. And the price is very reasonable.
We introduced friends to dinner at Bistro Perrier and we all loved it! The food is so terrific, especially desserts. Great reasonably priced wines!
This was such great food and service! French Onion Soup was so rich, and not too salty. Salmon entree was perfect, and friend's Steak Frites (filet) was perfectly done. Loved the Starry Night cocktail and got to meet the student who created it! It was so nice to see the students working toward their goals as they move through first year (studying and waiting tables) and beyond (preparing the food, crafting the cocktails, creating the recipes, etc.). Can't wait to go back!
More people should be aware of this great opportunity to have classic French cuisine at reasonable prices. All three of our entrees were perfectly prepared and the service was very attentive. I plan to return soon.
The experience was very good, the students were most accommodating. It is a great place for fine dining at a reasonable price.
Warm, delightful atmosphere, abundance of staff attention. Cocktails were excellent. Interesting menu. My friend and I were both pleased with our dishes. Of course, start with the French onion soup. We shared blue point oysters that were wonderful. I loved (loved!) the spinach ravioli with goat cheese. We finished with tableside-prepared chocolate crepes with orange. They were great, but we would have enjoyed seeing the crepes cooked at tableside rather than simply heated. Overall you will not find food and service at this level, priced affordably, anywhere else. I highly recommend that you visit.
We had an amazing dining experience. Our wait staff was fabulous. Way to go Kayla and out food was delicious. I couldn’t have asked for more. Cannot wait to come back!
I absolutely loved everything about tonight! I went out to dinner with my mother and two coworkers and my mother is the most pickiest person I know, and she loved everything! that is saying ALOT! Also Madison was absolutely amazing and she gave us a tour and answered a lot of questions from my mother and her two coworkers.
My husband and I had an amazing experience. The service was great and the food was amazing. Thank you for providing great hospitality
Service was outstanding! The students attempt to ensure everyone is satisfied. The service and quality are on par with outstanding restaurants.
I tell people about it all the time. We do not live in the area, so we do not get there much. Everytime we do get there the food and service is wonderful.
We’ve been to The Restaurant School several times and this visit did not meet previous experiences. The atmosphere remains remarkable. However.....the food disappointed. The daily signature dish noted on the menu was unavailable. The mussel appetizer was a hit, the stuffed squid was good. The entree Cassoulet was a total miss. Dry duck. Dry, tough beans. We were offered additional sauce/gravy, but the dish could not be saved. The Cremé Brulee was good, the spice cake dry and unappealing. We understand this is a learning experience, but one would think the students would get better instruction from the professionals and not let them serve unpalatable dishes.
The experience is always wonderful. The service was excellent and the employees were very attentive. I would recommend the restaurant school any occasion. We can’t wait to reserve our next table for a great night of laughs and delicious food.
A warm greeting at the front door welcomed us and the staff in general was tops. Nina was outstanding as the confident person flambeing our steaks. The beigenets were fantastic. Some of the students need to be more comfortable with diners, they were a bit stiff.
BTW, what restaurant offers flambed dishes
Can't say enough about how great the students are at preparing food, serving it and making for a great experience. Except that I don't want it to get TOO popular, or I'd never be able to get a reservation!
We had our Galentine's dinner on Valentine's day and had the MOST delicious dinner. Appetizer was the Lobster Ravioli. The main meal was filet mignon which was cooked to perfection! Desert was amazing as well. We had drinks called Stormy stormy night which were incredible. The service was outstanding. I would HIGHLY recommend having dinner here.
Very good Value. Great Food. Ambiance is incredible.
Over the years, the restaurants of the Restaurant School have grown beautifully. The food, atmosphere and presentation were great. It is really nice to experience the food of the next generation of culinary stars.
I had not been to Bistro Perrier and the Restaurant School for years. Was looking for a place for annual meeting of friends where we could talk; some came from as far as 1-2 hours away. The setting was beyond our expectations. It was lovely and QUIET for conversation. The ROUND TABLE was so much better for talking than a rectangle table. The servers were gracious and looked like they were enjoying themselves. The setting, food and service made this evening excellent. The parking lot was a major plus as we would have reconsidered if it wasn't available because some people were coming from work on a short time frame to make it to the reservation. Thank you so much and we will certainly be back.
GREAT food, and great service on a busy Friday evening. Filet was cooked perfectly as ordered, Boeuf bourguignon was deeply flavorful. We know good French food and this was great. Enthusiastic students provide great service - especially Kym. They’re learning well!
We have eaten at Walnut Hill College several times and have never been disappointed. Now Walnut Hill College’s Bistro Perrier is inspired by Georges Perrier, so the menu specializes in classic French food. Our appetizers - mussels and onion soup- were excellent. We enjoyed the table side preparation is scallops for the entree.
The waitstaff consists of students from the College, so the service is very attentive but a bit slow. We’ll go again!
We had high expectations from food and were disappointed. The design is nice. Service is adequate. The food was nothing special with some deficiency.
First of all, specials for the day were not served when we visited. Onion soup was quite good. Monk fish was super rubbery with the mush of a tomato-ly side dish. Duck confit was over-salted. The highly anticipated apple tart was very ordinary with a tough crust dough - nothing French about it.
Price was average. Dinner for two with wine came to $90.
Great experience and great food!! I will definitely be going back!!
Excellent food. Neat setting. Little chilly in the winter. Very quiet.
