Bistro Lagniappe (pronounced: /lanˈyap/) means "a small gift given" or "a little something extra"

Wood-fired country cooking in the heart of Healdsburg inspired by the rural bistros of France. Bistro Lagniappe is a restaurant in Healdsburg, CA serving French-inspired farmhouse cuisine rooted in California’s seasonal bounty. Chef Jacob Harth leads the kitchen – the menu highlights pasture-raised meats, line-caught fish, and produce from regenerative farms across Sonoma County. Some menu highlights include smoked oysters, cassoulet, hamburger, steak frites, and the mille feuille.

Lagniappe is a quick one minute stroll from the historical Healdsburg Plaza. Rain or shine, join us indoors or outside on our heated patio.

Emma - front of house - Gloria - server, and many others in between were delightful. Cold consume with porcini mushroom was the amuse - nice touch with a hint of earthiness. Two bbq'd Miyagi oysters with a Cremant sparkling - perfect pairing. Cold corn soup with a sprinkle of dried chili flakes - a lovely summer soup. Main course - butter-basted filet of trout so tender and served with perfectly steamed patty pan baby squash - crisp and yet sweet and tender, sauce had thin slices of lemon cucumber - a refreshing element along side fresh sorrel leaves - outstanding recommendation by Gloria. For dessert -mille feuille - I remember making this in culinary school - well done, crisp, perfect balance of sweetness with the tart passion-fruit filling over a vanilla cream anglaise and topped with a honey glaze. Gloria delivered a Laguiole French steak knife to help with the cutting my delicate French pastry. Great meal; great service.

The "outdoor" area is very nice. Fully shaded and quiet. The inside space can get a little noisy but that's very acceptable when the weather turns cold. The food is amazing, the service is first class.

What an outstanding experience! From the greeting at the door to the service at our table including Eric, beverage manager who we adore. Liza was the most amazing bar tender going out of her way to find us our booze of choice and making great Last Words. And Ryan in the front bar. Lastly, chef and his crew - the food!!! Crudo of hamachi with pulots, summer salad of tomatoes, melon and fresh feta, beef tartar and the flat bread with charred eggplant. We will be back for the steak and oysters and more.

We enjoyed the meal at the restaurant overall. We sat in the back area which is where you always want to sit absent rain. We shared the buckwheat crepe with seasonal veggies, squash blossom and cheese as a starter. It was very nice but the buckwheat crepe did not take much like buckwheat. For one entree, we had the steak frite without the expensive upgrade to Wagyu or ribeye. The fries were crispy and completely delicious; some of the best in town. The steak was flavorful and tender but just a bit undercooked. I ordered medium rare and got rare. The other entree was a cassoulet. We were disappointed in this dish as the beans were not flavorful; they had been cooked separately and not with the generous amounts of savory meats, like the duck leg which was the best, the hard sausage (good but hard), or the pork belly (okay but not as delicious as one expects). So that dish was a disappointment. The wine list was very nice. We had an amazing Cab Franc, but did not care for the Chenin Blanc. Service was good, friendly and efficient. Overall it was mostly very nice but some hits and misses on the food.
