Bistro Jeanty Ratings and Reviews
A disapointment, especially the winelist! Would not dream of going there again. Coming all the way from Europe to celebrate my daughters birthsday I was very sad it did not turn out liked we hoped. When we visited the Bistro three years ago we were very pleased.
We requested for the patio but it was closed. We ate early so the dining room we sat in was quiet...in the beginning. As the night progressed, it became really uncomfortably NOISY! Noisy & crowded. And our server disappeared. Service went downhill.
My partner's rib eye was not tender even though it was cooked medium rare. The fried smelt was not crispy & it was very oily. The foie gras torchon special was dismal. I had dinner at this restaurant previously with my sister & we had a great time. Definitely not the same experience this time - way off!
We had amazing food. I made reservation thru Open Table. We showed up approx 30 min early to enjoy a glass of wine at bar. Hostess said she'd let us know when Table was ready. 15 past reservation, we asked and she did say she forgot about us and seated us immediately. Only she noted we were a no show with Open Table which I received later that night. Hopefully this gets resolved but other than that, fabulous.
From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed! The hostesses were warm ,welcoming and professional, Thank you!
Our sever Sarah was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional she made our meal so enjoyable!
The food was fantastic flavors were very well balanced and those crispy pigs feet....yum
The only negative was the cassoulet was cold in the center ( we didn’t tell Sarah)
I would also like to acknowledge the busser she was the most efficient table clearer ....impressive
Thank you for a wonderful evening!

My husband and I had been coming for years, but the tradition may have ended when the filet mignon my husband always previously ordered and loved was literally unacceptable—misshapen and full of gristle. The fact that it passed muster in the kitchen, and was served by our waiter was such a disappointment. Serving improperly chilled champagne at $40/ was an added disappointment. We’ll go to SolBar at Solage next time. Our dinner there was divine!
We loved dining at bistro Jeanty. The atmosphere was warm and fun, the service was great and the food was just fantastic. Presentation was beautiful and the flavors were outstanding. This really is wonderful bistro food but in an upmarket kind of way - healthful, delicious and innovative (yet classic too!). Just fabulous.
When we lived in California we went here often. So it was a must stop place for us when we recently visited friends. Unfortunately, the food quality is not the same as it was a few years ago. We began with the smelt appetizer, which was very good. I had beef bourguignon made with short ribs that were undercooked and tough. My wife had the duck confit, but the white beans were a thick mess of over cooked pasty beans. Our friends had grilled quail over morel mushroom risotto. The flavors were very good but the dish looked unappetizing. As a special, sure enough it was about $10 more than anything else on the menu. The service was good and ththe ambiance is still nice. Very disappointed with the food.
I have dined at Bistro Jeanty several times and have always been impressed with food and service. I was a bit disappointed with the Cassoulet. It was like mush. Too many bread crumbs and way overcooked. I will definitely give it another try on my next trip to Napa.
