Excellent food and fabulous service—a wonderful place to celebrate—the scallops with peas and potatoes was a delicious surprise, the menu standards were excellent as always —we had the fried smelt, foie and an inspired grilled asparagus salad—the main dishes were solid and and the service was a treat—a great way to celebrate.

Authentic French bistro that has maintained quality for decades. Always reliable. Our favorites include the lamb tongue/potato salad, coq au van, beef Burgandy, onion soup. Servers knowledgeable about preparation and ingredients. On good weather days ask for table on patio; bad weather days request table in back dining room.

We’re from NY, foodies and are in the industry. This was our best lunch in wine country. Sat outside and had the most amazing food and service. We had patè, bone marrow and smelts. Lunch was rabbit and a lamb special. Thank you to Sean for making our day. An experience to remember.

Service was awesome. Wine recommendation excellent.
Salmon rilletes were very good. Fois Gras good but needed a richer counter point than the gelee.

Mains were very good.

What was worrying was the change to the desert menu. It has been dumbed down and sweetened for an American palette. Mousse au Chocolat is supposed to be bitter sweet. Never have salt caramel mixed with it! Ditto with Creme Brûlée. Never chocolate. Just eggs and vanilla. Maybe berries. Prunes a Armagnac should be main flavor, not a garnish to a huge bowl of ice cream.

We hope this isn’t an omen of things to come.

We love coming to Bistro Jeanty when we visit Napa Valley and this visit was right up there as one of the best. The food was amazing and we brought good friends whom fell in love with the ambience and decor. We brought a couple of bottles of local wine and ordered a bottle of bubbles off the wine list, which waived corkage - brilliant policy. The steak frites were as good as ever and the staff was attentive and friendly. We left happy and content.

Booked Bistro Jeanty for husbands 50th birthday after recommendations from several local people. The restaurant did not disappoint. The food was exceptional and service was top notch.
Suggest anyone that is a foodie try this place. The pike dumplings alone are reason to go.

The mains were not as strong as the starters. The previous evening, I had enjoyed an excellent foie gras torchon and an asparagus salard; on the eveing I ate with family the crispy pig trotters, creme de tomate, quenelles de brochet, and friture d'Eperlans were excellent. The rack of lamb was nearly blue -- quite under, and lacked seasoning, and the gratin was similarly underdone and under-seasoned. Dessert was adequate.

We arrived 15 min. before our reservation. The host could hardly take the time to look upm and greet us. Upon checking in he stated your table is not ready and your welcome to take a seat at the bar. 3 tables for 2 were visible in the front dining room. Maybe they had them reserved. We took a 15 min. strole, return and then were seated at one of the still open table. Sorry but that's just not right. Get someone at the front desk that has people skills and seats customers. My wife and I were very irritated by this blatant abuse. Once seated our server was spot-on. Food was excellent. The only downfall was the HOST. The review would be all 5 stars if it were not for the HOST. I will most definitely return and hopefully this guy at the front desk will be GONE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have been going to Bistro Jeanty for almost 20 years every time I have a chance to go to Napa / Calistoga. Food is always great consistently. I had a table a few times in front room / area but not at bar counter. It’s very cozy there. Larger back room / area has a small fireplace. It can be noisy inside depending on groups of other happy customers. Enclosed outside patio is casual and very comfortable for family dinner. For variety of menu including season’s specials, quality and volume of dishes, it is a very nice restaurant. Definitely, one of my favorite restaurants.

Fantastic- went with some classics and was not disappointed. The onion soup was delightful and the beef bourguignon was hearty and velvety, and when paired with the egg noodles, was just about the quintessential meal. The chocolate mousse and a cappuccino was the perfect finish at the end of the evening, and I cannot wait to come back!

I love this place and go there whenever I can afford. Unbelievable wine list with fine French selections, awesome food, though the menu is a bit stale with bogus French "classics" that tourists can recognize. Younger than the Bouchon crowd, and more casual/fun, but without sacrificing quality in the kitchen. Very elite restaurant. Check out the cheap happy hour oysters. Good place to go for oysters and white Burgundy before dinner. Or stay and have a perfect meal.
About 150 per person including beverage.

French cuisine in the US is usually cliche and expensive besides chefs engaged and committed to the Michelin way... fine dining does not mean stuffy and lame... this place is a mid range brasserie service lame French food without any spirit, imagination or even tradition... worst cassoulet I got for a while. The fois gras was ok but its lame seasoning kind of spoiled the quality of the liver which was actually good. The decoration, menu and ambiance is typical of all the cliches Americans can build over French food for generations even if French food changes constantly... If you want to get a decent brasserie experience, go to the Bouchon... but French brasseries like La Coupole, Le Boeuf sur le Toit, Mollard, Bouillon Chartier, Lipp, Le Grand Colbert or Le Basilic in Paris, Le Noaille in Bordeaux, Le Barbu d’Anvers in Lille, La Cigale in Nates or Chavant in Grenoble... are a in different world of authenticity and quality... lightyears from 90% of so called brasseries in the US... just try you’ll see the difference. Le Bouchon in Yountville remains decent, Sardine in Chicago is actually a good one and I haven’t found lots like this in spite of my many attempts...

The tomato soup is world-class! The rack-of-lamb was superb.

Best of all, my wife had a problem with the noise of young children where we were first seated. Without any fuss or complaint after the first course we were moved to a quiet table outside under a heat lamp. Wonderful service. Thank you!!!

Personally, I think that Bistro Jeanty is the best value of all the Yountville restaurants. Great service, fantastic food and wine list, great vibe, and very cute decor. Some may argue that statement, but I don't think anyone would disagree that you will have a great time when you visit!

I loved the salad and the wine, and the ambiance, and my husband loved his meat dish. As a vegetarian I didn't have many options for main courses so I ordered the fish which was not very good - too much butter and just ok. Next time I'll know to get something else. I would still recommend this restaurant, just don't get the fish :)

Our server was pretentious and did not make us feel welcome. He never came back to ask us how our meal was. The only staff that was friendly was the host and hostess. Sad to see what was historically a popular place to stop for lunch in the Napa Valley become such a snobby venue.

Great place for simple French comfort food. Portions are very generously sized, so appetizers could easily play as entrées. I felt that this should have been communicated as we ordered way too much based on the menu categorization. We sat out on the lovely terrace and had a very intimate and quiet table, which is exactly what I requested. Thank you so much for our lovely lunch.
