What an incredible dining experience. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was INCREDIBLE! And the prices were great. We are to our hearts content, we will definitely be back.
This restaurant never ceases to impress. Understated perfection.
Always a treat to have dinner The Bistro. As locals, we only wish we could get a table MORE often. No last minute any more!! Open Table has worked vey well and we appreciate it!!
Great service and food. We were out on the patio next to the end, so it was a bit hard to handle the temperature. Highly, highly recommend!
I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years, but had not been back since the start of the pandemic. Food was mediocre, especially their signature tomato soup encrusted in pastry. Their filet mignon had little taste. Service was slow. Overall, disappointed by an old friend. Maybe they are too tired as an operation.
Excellent service. Okay food. Tomato soup was good but wish I had tried the French onion!
Wonderful experience for my husbands birthday. While we were sat outside in the new covered patio, the heaters were wonderful and kept us warm and comfortable throughout our meal. Our waiter was great - helpful, knowledgeable and thorough without being intrusive. Food was spectacular!
Great night.. menu is full of classics! Can't wait to go back.
The service was impeccable and the food was delicious.
Such a classic, so happy the quality of food and service remains at the top after so many years. We do not get to Napa often, but when we do, Bistro Jeanty is a must stop. Our server Austin was great.
Our first visit to Bistro Jeanty was great!!! Loved the beet salad and the filet of sole plus the escargot!!! Found a new wine that we really liked-Sauvignon Blanc by Cliff Lede!!!
Signature tomato soup outstanding.
It was delicious! We will be back. Had the butternut soup on special-highly recommend.
We love this little restaurant. And the food is wonderful.
If there were a ten star rating I would give Bistro Jeanty all ten stars. The food is out of this world delicious. The sauces are classically prepared. Wait staff are always knowledgeable and professional. It is our favorite wine country restaurant and always a special treat - the next best thing to flying to Paris or Lyon...
Friendly staff and excellent service as famous. But food is not so special and toilet is not really clean.
The rating should be 4-1/2, but that is not a choice. The restaurant is excellent and my only issue was the drink delivery timing. We ordered cocktails and an appetizer (duck and goat cheese rillettes, which was amazing), the cocktails showed up after the appetizer had long been devoured. Then the dinner wine appeared and was opened and poured before the cocktails were completed. After dinner, dessert and coffee were ordered at the same time, and again, the coffee showed up after dessert had been finished.
The food was all impeccable, but a restaurant of this quality should be a little better at delivery management.
Felt like we were in France for the evening! The food was excellent - our servers recommendations were spot on.
This was our first time there snd we will surely return! What a great experience in every way!
Server could have been better. Describe/explain the menu and check on us once in a while and not have to flagged him down.
Always great food and service
One of our favorites. Always on our dinner list when we come to Napa by ourselves or with guests. The flavors of each dish will knock your socks off!
Wonderful birthday dinner with my love! Great food, service and setting!
This was the most disappointing dining experience we have had in a long time. The food was was mediocre, as was the service. The busboy spilled water all over our table and just disappeared, we had to clean it up ourselves with our napkins. We arrived 10 minutes early and could not get a table until the exact time of our reservation so had to stay outside and wait. The hostess made us feel bad we had shown up early. There are only two restrooms for a rather good sized restaurant and they are behind the hostess podium and people were crammed in waiting for one. One appetizer came first and the other two didn’t arrive for another five to seven minutes. The pork shoulder had little flavor, there were three Brussels sprouts cut in half and a slab of flavorless butternut squash. The beef bourguignon was in a small creouset pot that made it difficult to eat and it was mediocre. The French fries with the steak were limp and the bernaise sauce was thick and lumpy. We opted not to have dessert. Skip this one.
I have been coming to Bistro Jeanty since they opened and it has always been consistently wonderful. However since Phillipe has retired I have noticed the menu being downgraded and the consistency is not of his standards. Last night I had the salade lyonnaise and the beef bourginon and it was not the same at all. Both fell short in flavor. The salad had less consistency in flavor and the quality of croutons and the bourginon was a thin quality of it’s predecessor. Phillipe must come back and make sure that this incredible icon remains true to his legacy. My dining companion also remarked that the escargot was not as good as Angele (in Napa) and that the sole meunière was also not great. This is not what I have ever experienced from Jeanty and hope that he will rectify his legendary reputation.
So great! Never disappoints...
Very disappointed with our experience. We dined the day after Thanksgiving. We have been loyal customers for 10 years. The service of food was slow, but our waiter was great. The cassoulet was dry- over done and not enough gravy with the beans- dry also. Our friend’s pork dish needed to be sent back. The pork shoulder was mostly fat. The salad lyonnaise was also not very good- dressing watery and salad not flavorful with exception of lardons. My friend’s quiche looked good except the serving size was very small. Larger salad that accompanied the quiche than a larger piece of quiche. Overall not a great experience for the cost. Hopefully, the next visit will live up to expectations for such a fine restaurant. What happened?
I think the tall hostess could be nicer to people and I understand it can be a busy environment but as a third party observer, this is my take. That said, the food we had was really good and we will be coming back here.
We enjoyed Bistro Jeanty so much that we actually visited it twice during our trip to Napa. The star here is the food. It’s perfectly executed French classics and hearty portions. We tried the French onion soup, escargot, truffle deviled eggs, beef bourguignon, filet au poivre, mussels, and the chocolate creme brûlée. Every single one was amazing. No missteps. We were thoroughly impressed. The service was slow at times, but we didn’t really mind. The prices were also very reasonable for portion and quality. I highly recommend it as a must eat restaurant if you are in the Napa area.
Excellent family dinner on Thanksgiving. Best French food since I was in Paris .
Excellent food and service
Amazing from start to finish! Delicious food, generous cocktails, super wine list and excellent service.
Absolutely fantastic food. And great service too.
Restaurant was full and they were very busy. Service was a little slow but the server came to our table and offered us a complimentary drink which was very nice. Good meal and good service.
We were thrilled today with excellent service from Darryl and exquisitely prepared dishes from the kitchen at Bistro Jeanty. We had Cassoulet, Sole Meunière, Coq au Vin, escargots, onion soup, and the pumpkin cheesecake. Each item was executed and presented perfectly with consideration for dietary needs. We look forward to coming to Bistro Jeanty again.
We were seated in front of the fireplace for our anniversary dinner. The food was outstanding and the service very good. One of our favorite restaurants in Napa valley - everything we could ask for in a fine dining experience!
As a local we have eaten here several times. Being a Saturday night they were very busy. We were a party of 4 that wanted to sit indoors. The manager was very accommodating and was able to find us a table. The menu and atmosphere is very French which we enjoy.
