Another Gem in Manchester! Fantastic meal, drinks, dessert & service. If you visit this great town you really need to get a table.
We have been to Bistro Henry many times. It has become our favorite go to place. The food never disappoints!
We enjoy bringing friends and family to enjoy as well. Henry and staff do a great job. Will be back very soon
We enjoyed the Wednesday night prime rib special which included a large salad, a 12 oz. delicious cut of beef and a good-sized hot fudge sundae. Dina’s hot fudge sauce is wonderful.
Food was amazing and the service was exceptional
It was our first time and we will certainly be back
Amazing Filet trio !
Great prices too !
Best deal on wines too , lots of specials on rare wines you never see on most wine lists
We loved Bistro Henry. Everything was wonderful from the service to dessert. I liked the option to order a bowl or cup of soup. My wife selected the trio of filets each with its own sauce. Each was outstanding. I had the steak au poivre which was forceful and delicious. Veggies and sides were excellent too. The desserts were exceptional. Our server, Rachelle, was warm and professional helped us have a great time.
We had a great time at Bistro Henry’s this past Friday. The food was great and the service impeccable. A great choice and worth the trip from either direction !
not a good experience--long, long wait for dinner to be served . Two of the six meals were cold and sent back to the kitchen. When they came back to us, the meat was still raw in one meal while the prime rib was now overcooked. The meat was sent back again. By the time the last meal arrived at the table, some of us were finished eating (didn't want our food to get cold). We left without getting dessert or coffee since we'd been there so long. Owners/chefs would be wise to offer an after dinner drink or dessert on the house when multiple mistakes are made --a little good will would have gone a long way.
All four of us loved all the dishes from salad to dessert. Fish, duck, veal chops, all done perfectly, served beautifully. Lots of interesting choices on the menu and a good wine list as well. Service was outstanding. We were there for hours and had a wonderful time.
Very enjoyable and food was great. Always a good choice
Bistro Henry has been our favorite restaurant in Manchester, VT for over 20 years. The food is always consistent and excellent. This family owned and operated business offers the highest quality of food with friendly and prompt service. Go for the parmesan crusted sole. It's exceptional and one of my favorites. The steaks are also always come out perfectly and are flavorful. You can't go wrong dining at Bistro Henry.
We have been going to Bistro Henry's for some years and the food has been consistently good. When I made this reservation, I indicated that it was for an Anniversary. I expected some type of acknowledgement, i.e. a Happy Anniversary wish or a complimentary small desert , as a well wish. Unfortunately we were disappointed that this was not acknowledged. In addition, we were disappointed that the chef did not deliver our dinner or desert which has in the past been customary. We did observe the chef delivering other meals to other diners. Perhaps next time we'll call for a reservation and speak to the hostess when there is a special occasion as opposed to making an online reservation.
A little pricey but I thought it was a great dinner.
Excellent wines selected personally by Henry!
We don't treat ourselves to a night out very often but when we do, it's Bistro Henry hands down. The food is fabulous, the service is always excellent and the atmosphere is just what we need after a hectic day (hectic life?!?).
This is our second time to Bistro Henry, and we had just as good of a meal as the first time. Staff is warm and attentive. Food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, given the quality/caliber of the food. Atmosphere is quaint and welcoming with the fireplace.
We had a fabulous meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
As always, the food was creative and delicious.
The service was excellent as well. We go there every visit
To the area, and will return again.
Great meal, service and atmosphere. Our first time there and will be back!
One of those places where you can't decide what to eat because most of the items on the menu sound delicious, and the items we did order were!
We have been to Bistro Henry several times over this past years on our ski trip visits to Manchester and it was always a great dining experience. On this occasion it was just not up to par due to the quality of the ingredients and preparation of the main courses. Linguine with seafood was soupy with an oddly sweet sauce and seafood that tasted like it was out of a can, with the exception of a lone crab claw. The filet of sole dish was mediocre at best and did not taste or look like sole. Also the table cloths were gone making it feel like a more basic ambiance than in the past. While the appetizers and desserts were fine the whole meal was not up to expectation and it seems that "Henry" is no longer there to deliver the experience he originally established.
Food was great, except the kids food.
We hadn’t eaten here in a few years but it was as delicious as we remembered! We now will have to go back sooner to try out more of the delicious sounding things on the menu!
We visit the are every December and Bistro Henry is always open no matter what the weather and the food and service are great!
We always have Christmas Eve dinner at Bistro Henry every year in Vermont. They NEVER disappoint! Just wonderful. Charming place. Great chef who occasionally will bring your meal to your table himself! Love it here!
Service was great..but it was WAY too hot inside which made the evening very uncomfortable!
Food was very good but we sent our martini's back.
We asked for Kettle One which they did not have, then ordered Tito's ICE ICE ICE COLD....they came toooo warm, the glasses never even chilled and we could swear the vodka was watered down. We are both VERY familiar w/martini/vodka so it was disappointing. Ended up with Grey Goose which was at least cold.
Attention to details is my advice.....
An excellent and authentic French Bistro - best in town of Manchester Vermont - family own and run - Bistro Henry has been there serving up the true restaurant experience for many years, great select menu with thoughtful attention to local and special ingredients
Great local food, expertly prepared, along with a cordial, welcoming staff made for a pleasant dinner experience in Manchester, VT. The Half Chicken was uniquely smoked and delicious, and the Linguine Lobster was rich and sweet in a brandy tomato cream sauce. Flourless chocolate cake was awesome and provided a fitting ending to a great meal.
Special occasion dinner, getaway weekend..walked in, was seated in the back room with only two other occupied tables, away from the fireplace and main room. Hostess literally ‘stamped ‘ her foot and turned away from us in a huff when I asked if we could be seated in the main dining room.
I was quite embarrassed for asking and for her behavior. Our table was near her hostess station and we saw her huffing and becoming angry with other patrons as well. An older woman walked over to her to tell her to calm down. We found out from our waitress it was her mother, the bartender.
Food took a very long time to be served too.
Excellent in every regard. The food and service is superb.
Dinner at Bistro Henry was terrific! The food was delicious, the atmosphere nice and casual, and our server Rachel, was delightful!
Middling stars earned by steak au poivre being both overdone and with a poor sauce. The peppercorns must always be cracked for the sauce or else it's bitter without the bite. Which is what this was. Squash soup was very good. So was french onion. Fair choice of well priced wines. Ambiance is nicer outside than in.
My wife and I wanted dinner someplace other than typical chain dining. Looking at reviews we made a reservation at Bistro Henry. Driving up to the restaurant it is nicely lit with a patio for outside dining. Little cool this night. Walking in the front door met with by the greeter who promptly took us to our table. Nice atmosphere with lighting and decoration. Fits the area. Menu is excellent. Not overwhelming with choices. Everything came out piping hot as you would expect your food to be. I had potato Leek soup and my wife had the baked onion soup. Both were fantastic. I had the Rib Eye and my wife the Chicken Francaise. The Rib Eye was cooked perfectly. No need for onions or mushrooms to help the flavor. The chicken was super tender and the accompanying pasta was cooked Al dente. Fresh baked bread and whipped butter to accompany. We weren't rushed with nice timing between courses. This may have just been a slow time not being during ski season where more attention was paid to diners be we were impressed, had a great meal, and would visit again in the future.
It's too bad that Bistro Henry's set up makes it noisy, but maybe that's just our age. We like the food and the friendly staff and will go back.
Great dinner. Excellent food and service. Dessert was great.
Our family went for Saturday evening dinner. Liver was on the price fix menu. The first piece of liver was raw, the second attempt (same piece of liver) appeared to have been thrown into a deep frier and came back inedible . When I finally got up to speak to the owner she finally made it right, however the 4 others in my family had already finished their dinners. I wasn't pleased with my dinner! When the bill came, there was no concession to the two prior failures, no small price reduction for eating a half hour after everyone else, I would have expected to have my dinner comped for having to eat my dinner after my family had all finished theirs, they did not charge for 2 cups of coffee however.....wow, and it is not about the money. It's about what the idea of a nice dining experience should be and how it is rectified if it's not.
Tired decor and uninspiring, yet not inexpensive food left us disappointed. There are better dining spots in Manchester at similar prices.
Very poor seating. Banquet seating, looking at a wall the whole meal, right next to a person wearing a baseball cap, dirty jeans and dirty boots. Asked for another table, but they said they were full. Paid $100 for this
Great selection of entrees. Large wine list. Great salmon, halibut, ravioli and Rare tuna. Excellent service.
This was our first time in Henry’s Bistro and we will for sure be back again. You could visit here every night for a week , eat a different dish and still have something left to chose from. Great range of food on the menu and a wonderful wine list. Rachel, who served us, was excellent, attentive when we needed it, a great guide through both the menu & wine list, but also allowed us to spend a quiet time. Cannot tell you how good she was. I had Oysters to start and my wife had Crab cakes. Then I had Parmesan Crusted Sole whilst my wife had Seafood Linguine. Bottle of Muscadet, it was perfect. Then to top it all Henry came out to bring our desserts. I had Grande Marnier Creme Brûlée. Great service and a great place
Fantastic food. Great find! The food was great, the service was pleasant and the restaurant was nice.
