Bistro Grace Ratings and Reviews
I had the beet salad and salmon entrée. Both were excellent! I am a big fan of salmon and this did not disappoint. My friend had the Brussel sprouts appetizer, the cheesy root vegetable appetizer and a side salad and she ate it all, so enough said. We each had a glass of red wine. The bill was a little on the high side, but the food was worth it. I will go back.
We had walked past Bistro Grace many times when in Northside and finally had the opportunity to go for my wife's birthday with friends. The service was outstanding and our server was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food and wine. She was able to help us decide on starters, salads and entrees as well as wine pairing. Excellent information about other neighborhood stores that partner with the restaurant for various items. Definitely recommend dining here for any occasion!!! Costs were extremely reasonable as well! Great place and we will be back!!!! Thank you very much for a great experience.
It was my birthday and I really wanted something special, but not fussy, with good food and atmosphere. Total SCORE on both fronts. Great service and the menu had just changed and there were tons of good choices. The burger was great and the beet/pear salad subtle and delicious! Also loved the hummus appetizer, the accompanying pita wedges were lightly fried and to die for! We will be coming back soon.
Bistro grace is actually a neighborhood gem. We drive 20 miles past chain restaurants to eat there. The food is not the same ordinary stuff. The beer selection is great. The people are welcoming. We are regulars and Grace's has become our go- to restaurant.
It was extremely quiet when we went at 6:3o. A few tables came in later. The food was a nice mix of more traditional proteins paired with various purees and beds of greens. I found my salmon itself okay, the VERY flavorful bed of bean puree, garlic and many other spices was very good. The key lime pie was delicious, and that is one of my favorites, so I have many to compare.
The beet salad was decent. Then the special of the day came, which was a cold pureed soup (it was a hot, humid evening), with radicchio on top, and "poached shrimp marinated in house vinaigrette", as our waitress described it. What we received were two bowls containing completely raw shrimp. Not ceviche, not poached, just gray, raw shrimp! The waitress took them back, to put the shrimp on the grill. So our soup still had juice of raw shrimp, even if the actual shrimp was now, at least partially, cooked. Then we asked for bread, and never received it. $100 for two (we split the salad, and had a bottle of wine), and we ate crackers when we got home, to help with the queasy feeling.
2 of us dined on a Saturday evening. Clintele ranged from couples to families. Not very crowded on so we were surprised at the slow table service. Excellent charcuterie for an appetizer. We ordered linguini, which was outstanding and summer chicken which was good. Creme brulee trio for dessert was delicious. All priced reasonably for the caliber of food; relaxed atmosphere was justv what we were after. Would definitely fine here again
We arrived and were promptly greeted and seated. We dined outside and the restaurant is clean and friendly. The server quickly took our drink order and explained some of the items on the menu. We each ordered a glass of red wine which was a nice Cabernet Savignon, nothing exceptional. We decided to share an appetizer of steamed mussels. They arrived within a short period of time and were perfect. The broth was flavorful but not over powering and the mussels were tender as well as tasty. I ordered the Duck Breast and it was okay. There wasn't anything unique or special to give it the wow factor and I don't think a Mole sauce is a good choice to serve it with. The vegetable medley was beans with aioli and the beans were not quite cooked through. My wife had the Chicken Breast and it wasn't exceptional, just average. Her vegetable medley was black-eyed peas, corn nibblets, red bell pepper and Brussel sprouts with a smear of Mole sauce. We will go back for the mussels and will give it another try. We had the chocolate cake for dessert and although pretty good I am not sure that it wasn't a frozen cake from a food service. It is a pleasant place and maybe music outside would help the ambiance. It was a little pricey for lacking "Zing!"
Introduced a new business contact to drinks and dinner at Bistro Grace and it was wonderful as usual. We shared the delicious beet salad and then both ordered the salmon, which was perfectly prepared and had layers of flavor. It was the half-price bottle of wine night and we shared a good pinot noir. Highly recommend BG.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoy the variety of hot dishes we can pick from, without being overwhelmed with choices. The choices allow you to decide what kind of mood you are in. Will it be a burg or scallops? Chicken or Pork? All choices are outstanding!!
Unfortunately, I had a strange experience at this visit. When we sat down, our waitress asked what we wanted to drink. I told her that we didn't get any menus, so we'd need to see the menu first. She said Ok and got us water. She came back. Asked us if we knew what we wanted to drink. I said that we still haven't gotten any menus. Probably 15 minutes passed until we were given menus. Finally we could decide what to order. From there on out it was still very weird. Our waitress was very distracted, something seemed very off. I know it's not her fault but I was let down by this recent visit. The food was good but not as good as I remembered. Too bad.
Bistro Grace has a Great location in he heart of Northside, with plenty of parking right next door. The Patio is lovely for those balmy summer afternoons and evenings, and if it's just too hot- inside is cool and inviting. Service was great. Cocktails where FAB! Food is local and fresh, creative, and tasty, and portion sizes are perfect, but it is a little pricey.
We love Bistro Grace and think it is outstanding for a fun, comfortable, neighborhood spot. Food is consistently very good with interesting twists on flavor changes for hummus, deviled eggs, shrimp dishes, and specials. Also a fabulous hamburger with great roasted potatoes. Kendra was behind the bar and does a great job. We enjoyed the cocktail made with lime vodka and iced tea. Delicious and refreshing. When the weather is good, the back patio is a great place to eat. Lauren is the manager and always makes people feel welcome and special. Glad we saved room for Key Lime Pie because they have the best!
Really cute place! We had an appetizer, entrees, and dessert - everything was delicious! My cocktail was also amazing, and they have a good variety of liquors/wine/beer. We sat inside, but they also have a very cute back patio. We will definitely go back. Highly recommended for date night!
The food was exquisite and Bistro Grace has a very warm and friendly vibe. It's a charming ambience, and the service is excellent. We were a group of four friends, and all of us enjoyed our choices. Two of the specials for the night; an heirloom tomato and shrimp tower, and an eggplant dish were particularly creative and delicious. Great wine/ beer list, and creative cocktails. We even took a growler home. Really appreciated the gluten free, vegetarian options. We can't wait to come back!
This was our second time at Bistro Grace and it reminded us that we should go more often! Ate on the outside patio on a lovely Saturday in July. My husband had the chicken and I had the salmon. We both had house salads. The food was all excellent, very food forward, fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared. Service was prompt, but I think our server was new and didn't knowgiynfnnkk ok nenkbb much about the wines. It is also an excellent value in our mm mbook, entrees and wines are reasonably priced, especially given the complex preparation, and good portions. Oh and don't forget dessert -- split Dan's donut dessert -- to die for!
Went to Bistro Grace for the first time over the winter. Had a delicious meal then and when I returned not long ago, my friend and I sat outside. We both ordered the salmon which was cooked perfectly and surrounded by a bed of quinoa and kidney beans, we also ordered the beet and cabernet hummus prior to dinner with our wine. Was a quiet night mid week which was perfect.
We asked to be seated outdoors on a lovely spring evening and had a table in the covered arbor which was lovely but noisy. The scallops were divine, ordered by two of our party. Wine list was limited but good. We were all pleased with the meal and service. Grace's Bistro is a favorite neighborhood restaurant of ours. The main seating area is small but lovely and the food selection varied and excellent.
Thursdays are a must at Graces! Chefs taken on shrimp and grits has never disappointed, our waitress was sweet, print, and always there when we needed something with an inviting smile! I however redirected my entree and enjoyed the pork loin!! ( uhm still has the bone in FYI) it was a nice easy going night, nothing too crazy in the dining room. Our experience was simply amazing. From the bartender and manager greeting us at the door, to the constant smiles from the waitstaff and the food and drinks on par! We will for sure be back!!
