Great place for dinner near the airport. We had a 9PM flight out of Maui and this restaurant is perfect for getting closing to the airport so you can enjoy a meal and not have to worry about missing your flight. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was served nice and hot and tasty. Our server was very good.
Made a reservation and drove a half hour from Kapalua only to be told they just seated a party of 32 and it would be quite a while before I could be served dinner. The host actually encouraged me to find another restaurant- which I appreciated because at least she was honest about the situation. She asked the chef if he/she could squeeze me in and was apparently told no. What’s the point of securing a reservation if the restaurant won’t honor it?
Pleasant ambiance, good food, and good service. We enjoyed our meal!
the bouillabaisse was weak. The shrimp angel hair pasta was excellent, drink good, there was a noisy a/c unit next to us so abidance was so-so. service was good
I had the Paiea before and loved it, maybe will have that the next time
We overheard our waiter tell the table next to us that his “real job” was in construction, that explained a lot as he was not the friendliest or most efficient and pretty rough around the edges. Not anxious to go back to this restaurant because of this experience with our waiter. I don’t know if he was needing to make extra money but he should stick with his construction job. Not attentive, took forever if we wanted something more at our table. It seemed when we didn’t order alcohol and stuck with water we became a very low priority.
Portions were small and pricy. My pesto pasta had very little pesto.
Bang for the buck, the best meal i had on Maui during my holiday!
One of the best happy hour specials with a great tasting Mojitos
The menu is consistent specifically the lobster salad which is my go to. Fresh, flavorful and filling. The service is energetic and Jose is always a joy to see as he serves and knows just when to clear the dishes.
Service was attentive and pleasant. Food came really fast. Place was very busy before a concert, with the Maui Arts Center only a few minutes away. Took a while to get the check but well within reason.
Amazing....food was so delicious!
Came for our wedding anniversary and first time in Maui. As Italians, wanted to check it out. Not an ideal venue, but the food was good. Welcomed by the manager, which was nice. Many food items were overpriced and our waiter Pietro was extremely rude when realizing we didn't want any drinks or an appetizer. He was very short with me and my wife, which I didn't care for, and we briefly saw him throughout the meal. We will not be back.
Nice dinner out with friends. Always get consistently good food here. Service great as well.
Everything was excellent! We celebrated our anniversary and they gave us a tiramisu to celebrate! It was special.
Our server seemed bothered that “we came for happy hour”, never checked in on us and alway seemed put off by any request. He spent more time running things for his inside tables that came after happy hour.
The food was good
The Cajun chicken sandwich was the best I've ever had!!!
Went there for my girlfriends after conference wrap party held at UH Maui campus that she co-chaired with 4 other Health Care Professionals. The friendly service for the drinks was fast and consistently good. After a. While we said our Aloha’s to the others and the two of us went into the back dining area where we were seated next to the cute water feature. The two of us had the best time ever celebrating our 5 year anniversary and her birthday. The restaurant provided us with great service, tasty drinks, delicious food and a wonderful memory. A perfect ending to a perfect day!
I've really enjoyed the food and received great service each time I've eaten here. My favorite restaurant for special treat meals.
Our waiter was awesome. He was very engaged with our table. Great service.
Bistro Casanova is a favorite spot for us, every time we are in Central Maui...which is usually for a performance at the MACC or the Iao Theatre. We enjoy the small but just right size of this friendly restaurant, the wonderful and varied menu ( seafood, chicken, beef, vegetarian) and reasonable prices. The wait staff are Always courteous, and helpful. Thank you, Anthony! There is no glorious view here, but the inside is pleasant and the back room has a waterfall. We highly recommend BC!
Bistro Casanova is a great lunch spot: good food, pleasant ambiance and service. Sadly, the best waitress,
Kate, is gone.
Petro is excellent! Food delicious! Lovely & joyous experience!
Kayla our server was attentive and served us our drinks and skillfully and confidently answered our questions about the Mojito and Margarita sugar content. Our lobster salads were consistent and never disappoints!
While some of our party were given the happy hour menu, I wasn't and didn't know about it. The food was good and the service was satisfactory. The waitress was friendly. We would go again.
Super fast service even during busy dinner hour.
NEVER judge a person by the way they dress. The mister was in surf shorts and a t shirt & I was in jeans skirt w/a blouse. We were not drabby dressed or disheveled looking. Comfortably dressed.
(STRIKE ONE) It took more that 5 minutes to be acknowledged at the hostess stand. Not one person smiled or mentioned that someone would be with us in a moment. Even the employees that were huddled at the bar seen us...I made contact with a few. No one acknowledge us. They seemed too busy or occupied in their conversation.
(HUGE STRIKE TWO) My server felt that she should serve and give fantastic service those that was dressed nicely & seated AFTER me. There was only ONE other party seated in the section we were in prior to us arriving and the other was seated about 10 minutes after we sat. She decided to serve the party that seated after us before us. It took her 15 minutes since we sat to finally acknowledge us & take our drink orders. She was about to step away I mentioned we were ready to order our food also...her answer..."Oh...I didn't think you were ready." After 15 minutes of sitting, yes we were ready.
(STRIKE THREE) Our order consisted of 3 tapas & an entree. My boyfriend just wanted tapas (calamari, clams & mussles in white wine and frites). I was hungry for their linguine el fungi with chicken. The frites sat awhile on the warmer, the clams and mussles were rubbery & the calamari was soggy-ish. This meant it was made & sat on the warmer for a bit before arriving at our table. While I witnessed bread baskets passed by we were never offered. Once my entree arrived I asked our server if I had a bread arriving. "Oh... you wanted bread? Ok" While everyone else got a full basked. I got a basket with 2 dried out taro rolls & 2 cardboard choking hazard bread.
I've frequented this establishment many times before & was absolutely disgusted with the service. The fairer skinned, light haired was given exceptional service.
Lovely last final meal before departing to the airport home. Had a bit of difficulty locating the restaurant as it was in a non-description mall near a bank. But decor and interior was very nice. While the fare is predominantly Italian, the seafood Paella was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive (thanks Razi). Happy hour drinks were great and loved the flavour of the tiramisu. Highly recommended.
I almost always have their pasta dishes and they are usually tasty and well prepared. They come with a Caesar salad. I think of their pasta as Italian Italian food versus American Italian food. For example, there's a black linguini with a spicy marinara sauce with seafood. One of my favorites. Then there's the angel hair pasta with pinenuts and spinach. And another favorite is the linguine with pesto with shrimp. All in all, their food is good to great and almost always satisfying to this foodie.
Our first night in Maui we wanted something close to our hotel by the airport. This place was recommended by our hotel. The service was excellent, but we found the food lacking in flavor and were not impressed at all. We should have known not to eat Italian food in Hawaii!
Always Outstanding and Food Always on Point! The Mojito’s Fabulously Delicious!!
Enjoy coming in for lunch and dinner at least once a month. Gluten free options are plentiful. Quack salad is a must and gf pasta selections are great (if in stock). Great happy hour and friendly staff make for a pleasurable experience every time i visit.
The Lobster salad may have brought us back initially, but it's really the service - It was Kamalei's 2nd day and she was like a veteran, Jose is always on it, and I believe Kamalei was shadowing Razi (guy with accent who never forgets a face) who serves with passion and delights the diners. We actually came back after our business meeting and had drink served by Cori. Bistro is our go to place.
Best Italian on island. Had the tempura ahi and the lamb chops, both quite delicious. All my friends loved this place. I recommend Bistro Casanova to all.
Always great food and fabulous desserts.
We normally love this spot. I booked a dinner reservation for 9:15 pm for our son and his new bride who just landed. When we got there we had 2 people tell us we had to order quickly as the kitchen closes in 15 minutes! Had I known that I would have never reserved for dinner that late.
The waitress Jessie was very nice and did her best to make us feel better about it.
I will book earlier next time but did feel uncomfortable with being so rushed and feeling unwelcome.
The experience for the honeymooners was not the greatest first impression.
Service a bit slow and it wasn’t that busy.
Server was nice.
Good menu and wine list. Great fresh food.
Food was good but salad was overpriced for what it was in my opinion. Ordered the lamb with garlic oil. Asparagus that came with the dish was burnt. Scalloped potatoes had little to no flavor. The lamb was soft and juicy. Cooked perfectly. Staff was scarce as we saw our waitress maybe 3 times during the whole night. Left dirty plates on our table till the end. But our food did come out promptly.
Food was excellent, I enjoyed it very much. Presentation was good, service good nice atmosphere.
The only great thing about this place is The food & The drinks.. by far the worst costumer service ever! There’s a sign by the entrance that tells you to “wait to be seated” we stood there a good 10 minutes.. waiters were walking pass us and even the managers.. they were talking to each other and completely ignoring us! One of their guest at a table noticed us waiting standing there so long he end up walking up to one of the managers and ask them to help us and seat us.. not like it was even busy.. so we finally get to a table.. we already know what we wanted.. and that point I lost my appetite and wanted a drink.. I had to call the next worker that walked pass us to take our order and it was the same manager and she said “oh gosh where is your waiter” we ended up having just 1 drink and leaving.
Ordered spinach salad. Very good flavor, but all spinach and only a couple berries, little cheese, and lots of nuts. Should be made more balanced. Happy hour drinks were delicious
