Bistro Cacao Ratings and Reviews
Had a wonderful experience at Bistro Cacao. Come for the excellent food and service, stay for the atmosphere. My date and I were situated in two cozy armchairs surrounded by red velvet curtains, and admired the rose petals intricately scattered about the table. It was a memorable and sentimental way to spend an anniversary together, and the food and service were both very impressive. And as far as a dinner of that caliber goes, I felt the prices were very reasonable, as I have certainly paid more for much less. Book without hesitation for a memorable affair.
Overall an excellent experience. The service was good, overall. The atmosphere was perfect for a date. The food was good, but not spectacular. The dishes could have done with a little more texture and could have used more vegetables. One of the Creme Brûlées was carbonized on top making it inedible, and quickly replaced, but the server seemed annoyed by the request. But apart from tiny glitch overall was a very enjoyable experience.
The best venison since Bistro Francais closed. Wonderful wine list. Hostess/Owner is warm & friendly. Atmosphere cozy & interesting. Music was appropriate (Edith Piaf, Moonlight Serenade, etc) & not too loud. After a day of museum hopping, will definitely return for more offerings on French menu. Food was beyond memorable as was the paired wine. Required a 'Compliments to the Chef' at this one!!
My girlfriend and I had an absolutely amazing time here! The wait staff was attentive, courteous, professional, and funny. The food was incredibly well prepared, presented beautifully, and delicious. The cocktails were unique and satisfying. The staff even presentrd us with a desert that said "Happy Anniversary". All of this in a creative, romantic setting with minimal noise level. We can't wait to go back!!
Booked a Sunday brunch reservation here based on other positive reviews I had read. The other reviewers were right! The service was impeccable, the food really good, and the decor fun and interesting. And when they said bottomless Mimosas, they really meant it! I would definitely return.
It was fabulous! The food, wine, and service were fantastic. Sat on the patio, which was sandwiched between 2 other restaurants, but it didn’t interfere with our dining experience. A little breezy that night and a heater would have been great. Otherwise, no complaints.
A new find near Dupont that was out of the tourist paths. Definitely a millennial vibe on a Saturday afternoon with endless pitchers being served but still fun for us Baby Boomers who stepped in off the street for a DC cuisine before heading off for our evening's entertainment.
I have eating at Bistro Cacao numerous times. The food is great and it is quiet enough that one can have a conversation in a normal voice, which makes it a great place to meet friends. Bistro Cacao was very accommodating to a group of 10 of us. They changed our table when it was decided the one of our party could not go up the stairs to the place they had originally planned to seat us. Also due to family issues two of our party were very late and Bistro Cacao was very courteous in seating them and bringing in extra chairs and china.
My wife and I first visited Bistro Cacao a few months ago and we sat outside. The food was great and the outdoor seating area was really nice. This time, we went for our five-year anniversary and requested to be seated inside as it was dark out. The set up they have inside is really nice, romantic and cosy. Perfect for the occasion. Great service (they had written 'Happy Anniversary' in raspberry sauce on the dessert place) and the little 'booths', decor and music reminded you of Paris. Would definitely recommend!
