Where are my 1000 points?
This is a first class French restaurant! The food, the presentation and the staff are outstanding. My friend ordered the onion soup which was superb, I will order it the next time I come. I had the pate' as an appetizer which was country style and excellent. I ordered the Hanger steak which was perfectly cooked, flavorful and tender. Happy I decided to try this restaurant.
What a surprise. Wonderful romantic restaurant in the heart of Capitol Hill. Excellent service and food to match. This will become a regular dining spot for us.
I took my boyfriend for a birthday treat and he was delighted. He's a trained chef so I'm always careful where I take him. He loved the Cuisses de Grenouilles and also had the Marget de Canard which he thought was outstanding. I had the Escargot which was delicious and the Filet de Loup de Mer which was wonderful and a surprise that I even liked the beets, which are not my favorite. My dessert was the profiteroles which was just the right amount ; he had the sorbet. We had one of the side tables behind the curtains and to make it even more romantic, they put red rose petals on the table. A nice touch. Of course the service was great and since it was a first visit for us both, we plan to return for more special occasions. We had a lovely evening.
Fabulous! For starters, the standout was the lobster bisque. Then I had the bouilliabaisse, and it was the best I have ever had. The generous portions of mussels, monkfish, shrimp, lobster and squid were each cooked perfectly--not overcooked, as is so often the case. My husband had the fillet mignon and our son had the duck, and they were both outstanding. Everything was so wonderful that we couldn't help ourselves from ordering desserts. My poached pear encased in chocolate was a work of art, and it was worth every calorie. This restaurant is in the space once occupied by the beloved Two Quail, and they have maintained the romantic European atmosphere. Every table was sprinkled with rose petals, and there are quite a number of cozy, romantic banquettes. Our waiter was terrific, helpful and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and Bistro Cacao now goes high on our list of places to celebrate special occasions.
Exceptional French fare with classic Parisian decor. Nice wine selection, intimate seating for couples, very attentive staff and excellent spot for a special occasion or romantic dinner.
Great place for brunch. Always love it. Only complaint is a pet peeve of mine: the waiter refused to write down the orders for our group of 7 and then couldn't remember the orders and had to come back. Write it down!!
Nice quiet environment... Food was excellent.. Customer service was great
This is the second time I went to Bistro Cacao and it was as good as the first. It is a very cozy, very expensive French restaurant. The food, service, and decor are all excellent. Most options on the menu are naturally gluten free, or can be made gluten free upon request. I would highly recommend Bistro Cacao for anyone looking to impress someone with a high-end dinner in DC.
Great food but we had to wait 30 minutes for our table (although we had a reservation). A bit pricey too.
