Great staff, great food, always a solid spot
Wonderful experience. We had dinner the first night DC required pproof of vaccination., which I didn't have a problem with. it actually made me feel better that they were taking the pandemic seriously and they made sure everything was sanitized before we sat down and spread guest out so they did not sit close to each othe. Food was delicious. nice wine list.
The food was excellent and the service too. The environment is very cozy and beautifully decorated. Definitely, I will go back.
Amazing place with fabulous ambience, food, and service. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Nearly all of the things we ordered were quite good but my date found the steak tartare to contain way too many capers. It should have been called caper tartare, not steak tartare. The duck breast wasn’t cooked to my date’s request. But I thoroughly enjoyed the dishes that I ordered. Will go back but will steer clear of the tartare and the duck. Our waiter, the bartender and the hostess were wonderful and made the evening special!
Good food and service, great ambience, wonderful choice for a romantic dinner
French onion soup and the salmon entree were great. Steak and fries also good.
All good - from hostess, to waitress, to the chef’s food! All good!!
Went here for New Year’s Eve. Great experience. Charming , quiet. The food was delicious. They have a great wine selection. Excellent service. We highly recommend it.
Great for special occasion or romantic date. I would recommend the Magret de Canard.
Always fabulous food & service! Beautiful interior and terrific outdoor set up as well.
Each course was fantastic. The building and decor is inviting, lavish, warm, and fun. Service was wonderful.
Great spot for date night. The mushroom ravioli is worth going back for
The service was outstanding and the outdoor dining area was very pleasant. The food was fine but nothing special.
It was a nice experience. I would no longer recommend the outdoor dining as it is too cold on the patio. Indoors is nice and the food is very well prepared. It was a birthday and they gave free profiteroles for the table, which was a nice touch.
These are plague times, but the lobster bisque was more like tomato soup. The rack of lamb was well cooked but the lamb was long in the tooth and chewy. The profiteroles were encased in cardboard. The waiter was casual to the point of cavalierness. It was not a pleasant experience.
This was our first time dining at Bistro Cacao, and it exceeded our expectations. We wanted a warm and festive place to dine before the Christmas Holiday, and you certainly get that at Bistro Cacao. The upstairs dining room is quaint, quiet, and beautiful -- a perfect place for a dinner for two. We greatly enjoyed the French Classics: Escargot and Coq Au Vin, both of which were delicious, fresh and some of the best we've ever had. The Apple Tart and Champagne Soaked Pear we're also excellent. The service was friendly and and the menu is very accommodating to gluten-free needs. We will be returning soon!
The coq au vin was so good and the service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
I had a disappointing dinner with a young (20-ish) relative at Bistro Cacao on a colder-than-expected Saturday night. The outdoor dining space was covered and it had a few fire pits (as promised; in light of COVID, we wanted to eat outdoors). The fire pits were not at all effective as heaters.
The food was disappointing. The "small plate" grilled calamari was pretty tiny. Fewer than 10 small pieces. The steak in the steak frites was tough. The coq au vin was the big hit of the evening.
The poached pear was a delicious dessert, and the tarte tatin was good.
For all that, it was a pretty expensive meal, with no liquor.
Best Hazy Old Fashioned in the area! Wonderful traditional French cuisine in an elegant interior setting, or a really nice patio protected from the elements (important for these COVID timesl)
Truly so good. Cheese plate and duck breast were phenomenal. Really great birthday dinner with very romantic vibes. Thanks!
Lovely, romantic restaurant with very attentive but not hovering wait staff. The onion soup and lobster bisque we had for appetizers were both delicious. I had hoped to have the coq au vin but it was not ready which was a disappointment. Instead, we both had the salmon with mixed vegetables and parsnip purée which was also delicious. We’ll return another day for a later reservation and hopefully try the coq au vin.
This was a wonderful find.
Not only was the food well prepared, it was pleasantly served.
Deserts were very good.
I would definitely recommend this spot.
The food, as usual, was excellent and the wine was as well.
Bistro Cacao never disappoints for providing very attentive service and wonderful food that is well plated in terms of presentation.
It is a unique setting that follows the theme of its French influences.
Wonderful meal for a special occasion. Decor is special, and two person nooks are romantic. Pricy high end dining, but no worse than expected.
It’s our usual spot for office lunch, good service and food are great
My husband and I had a wonderful meal with friends we hadn't seen since pre-pandemic. Two of us had the salmon, one the ravioli, and one steak frites. Other than too many frites, all was very tasty. The service and ambiance were excellent.
Looking forward to a return. Have been here many tines.
It’s was a very quiet evening. The Hazy Old Fashion hit the spot after a long and difficult week. Of course the company of old friends always is the best!
Great service. Amazing decor, ambiance. Great for catching up with friends or family celebration. Private rooms available upstairs.
Birthday dinner. Very nice.
We have had brunch here many times and it never disappoints. Food is excellent and wait staff are wonderfully attentive.
The manager was wonderful. We would definitely go again.
Excellent Thanksgiving meal. Nice selection of appetizers entrees and desserts. Service excellent. Decor is very French. Not unreasonable prices for the experience, but limited to special occasions for us.
Our waitress was wonderfully attentive and cheerful. It was a good celebration!
The venu and ambience were perfect for a French Bistro. Would be the perfect place for a romantic date. The servers were nice and the food came out promptly. The best part were the cocktails. You must try the Lavender French 75.
Really delicious, enjoyed all our meals! Would definitely recommend to friends for fine dining
Ambiance and service are really good but food is mediocre.
