Very professional service, great food although hard for a vegetarian, wonderfully quiet!
Very appealing atmosphere. Food was great. Good variety of menu choices. Attentive and knowledgeable staff
Terrific experience. The food was top-notch, service was friendly and attentive. The Beef Bourguignon was tender and cooked to perfection. Nice, quiet atmosphere where we could hear ourselves talk without shouting. We’ll return!
Excellent and discreet French focused restaurant with exquisite service, calm and welcome atmosphere. From the friendly hostess to the elegant waitress and the owner stopping by our table, we had a perfect evening.
Very expensive, even for DC.
Wonderful meal, great food and great service
Great lunch service. Love the beet salad. It was the standout. The steak frites and duck confit were good.
Great little place near the Capitol with super food and great service.
Excellent service and food. Asked for corner table and got one. We had the trout and the Niçoise salad. Supurb
The salmon and the chicken Basquaise were both superb. Alexander provided outstanding service, and even though the restaurant was quite busy, he was very patient while we decided on what to order
monte cristo omelet with American cheese does not work. Hear had been turned off overnight and it was cold. Service was friendly and accommodating.
Nice and classy restaurant
Slow, bad service
Service was excellent as always. Best service in DC!
always good food and service.
Egg White Fratata Was Delicious.
Good based on location
Not great ambiance
Bistro Bis has never let us down for either food or service. THis meal was no exception. Our server was polite and attentive. Smoothly executed. I had the always reliable steak frites, our friend had the tuna salad and my spouse had the beef bourgignon . All delicious. We topped it with some ice cream and sorbets. Fabulous ice cream. We were seated on the lower level near the kitchen. It’s a bit noisier there and you can smell the kitchen. It didn’t bother us, but if it might affect your experience, ask for a booth or table on the upper level.
Excellent except for noise level and stingy drinks. My guest's dry martini "up" was excellent..my scotch on the rocks was barely two sips.
Great food and great service.
Most impressive was the friendly, yet unobtrusive service, which made the experience all the more wonderful. Lovely menu and courses presented beautifully. Server's wine recommendatin was spot on!
This place has slipped...slow and inefficient service...good food...drinks were barely two sips...expensive wine list...lack of valet parking is a real mistake...
Norwegian Cod special fantastic. Asparagus with cooked lemon was unique and divine. Nice job as usual. You never disappoint.
I went to lunch with colleagues to celebrate a work milestone. It is mostly business people. The food is very good but pricey though not surprised due to the location to the capital.
Best service, best ambience and best hot chocolate in town!
Great food but service needed improvement. We were there a total of 2.5 hours and it was not necessary. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful place and I highly recommend the tortellini, lamb shank and crepe brûlée. Also, the steak tartar was out of this world! Definitely a good find in DC.
Always a great experience, especially when we get Steve or Olga as our server. Don't miss the cheese selection! Best in DC.
Haven't been here for a really long time, and I'll definitely be thinking about this place more often. My crab cakes with slaw were perfect. My friends' burger and fries, too (though, admittedly, I didn't taste those). It's definitely a Senate hangout, skews young, and really energetic (read: LOUD). But one of the best spots on the Senate side for a real meal.
We enjoyed everything on the menu. Very pleasant experience for V DAY.
This place is all about the kitchen. The food is wonderful. But the place itself has little ambiance, and the waitress was rather cold and on automatic.
A great spot on Capitol Hill for lunch or an after work dinner. Consistently great service. The lunch staff is awesome. The decor is starting to look a little dated, but the food is always quality. Definitely a place to “see and be seen”.
Apologies but I don’t have the server’s name. He was excellent and provided op notch suggestions. The tuna special was indeed very special. Some of the best i have ever had. Recommended cauliflower was equally delicious. Topped off with their chocolate tart. Perfect evening.
Food and atmosphere were good. Lots of capitol hill suits at lunch.
We keep giving them another try and always disappointed. This visit it was my beef that was full of fat that has not been rendered. Seems like the portions got smaller while prices remain the same.
Wonderful. Came with a friend for her 60th. Simply the best.
Great place for a business lunch. Food is top notch and the service is impeccable. It can get a little noisy so just be aware. Overall -- recommend whole heartedly
pleasant brunch; good location near Union Station; a little pricey for what it is
Not sure what happened- seems like we may have been seated in the bar, not the actual restaurant. So our experience we had was not like the pictures or write up. Booth had a rip, table covered with butcher block, uneven temperature- hot air from heater vent/draft from door- not the romantic dinner anticipated. Decided on wine and appetizer. Wine was served at wrong temp- tepid, borderline warm and the appetizer was just ok. Service was good. Might go back for second chance, but too many restaurants to try.
The service was excellent and the ambience is comfortable. The scallops were delicious as was the beef Bourguignon, though one piece was far too fatty.
Got terribly sick from what I assume was undercooked fish & seafood.
In a very nice setting, this place provides the good quality French food. Loved the onion soup, not salty, full of onion sweetness and chess. Loved the beef tartar, and risotto.
