The service was great, however the steak and other menu items were not worth the price . Overpriced for the common man, but not for Lobbyists.

Bistro Bis is bistro food--if you're familiar with Paris bistros, you'll be comfortable with the menu. But it's bistro dishes lifted to a new height, beyond what you'll find in the typical bistro. The menu doesn't have a huge number of dishes, but every one has had very serious attention, and it's delicious. Even surprisingly delicious. Every dish!

The service is friendly and very efficient, not at all intrusive, very professional.

My only gripe is that wildly overpriced wine list, that's filled with somewhat obscure choices, a favorite trick of sommeliers who expect you not to know the real value of the obscure wines they list. Best to bring your own wine and pay the corkage fee to avoid the traps of the wine list.

The food was pedestrian and the server, although friendly, was pushy and constantly trying to up sale. While recognizing that food prices are typically higher in a hotel restaurant, the prices at Bistro Bis are hardly worth the food value. There are other restaurants on Capital Hill which offer better fare an better pricing.

I have never been disappointed. This visit I had the crab cakes and my lunch partner had the lamb. The crab cakes were delicious and the lamb was reported to be equally good. Service was impeccable as usual.

Very lovely place - I like how the staff is dress properly - great cocktail menu to start your dinner - good wine list - we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered and the desserts were perfect - I highly recommend Bistro Bis if you want an excellent dinner in a calm ambiance - it is chic but relaxed!

6 for dinner after a long day's meeting. This was our second visit and we would go back every time we're in DC. Great appetizers, including venison carpaccio. Entrees ranged from duck to bouillabaisse to sweet breads, to steak to trout. All excellent. Wine list is impressive. Can't wait for our next trip to DC.

What was to have been a nice birthday breakfast turned into a major disappointment. At 10:20 a.m. on a Saturday morning, two of us ordered coffee and their bread basket after being told by our unfriendly waitress we could enjoy that course before ordering our main breakfast course when ready. She failed to mention the kitchen closed at 10:30 until coming back to our table at 10:38 (I checked my phone for the time) to inform us it was too late to order breakfast as the kitchen just closed. While we could have managed the disappointment (I the embarrassment as this was meant to be a birthday treat as indicated in my reservation), the surely waitress offered no apology or concern for her error. While I’ve dined at Bistro Bis multiple times and have found the food to be good, this particular experience has soured me from the place and I won’t be back. It’s a shame their service should be so poor.

Been a loyal customer for years and have never been disappointed. Appetizers through desserts are excellent. Staff is proficient and friendly, some of whom have been there for years. Later meal times are recommended because noise level can be a little high at peak times, so try to reserve a booth. Beet salad, crab cakes, tuna nicoise, salmon and anything on dessert menu are recommended.

We ate here on the recommendation of a friend. The experience was average at best. Fabulous lobster bisque and sea bass. Our waiter was professional but indifferent; the duck, ordered medium rare, was served medium well and there were rather long intervals between courses.

This meal was the result of walking by the restaurant earlier in the day and from the outside it looked interesting so we booked reservations for later that evening.
The food was truly slanted to French, very, very good, presented well and of appropriately sized portions. Overall it was of good value and would dine again next time in this part of DC.

We were celebrating multiple birthdays and we all got birthday plate desserts. The food was excellent from start to finish and because of the holiday weekend, it was fairly quiet since congress was in recess. Service couldn't be better.

think after two times, one a business lunch and the other a night out with my wife, this is a better place for business lunch..................dinner was just so/so and the branzino was way over-cooked and dry. nice place but think had an off night.

I had a very lovely experience at Bistro Bis. The only thing that took away from the meal was that my server was not especially attentive. I started with the octopus, a dish that is very easy to overcook. It was one of the best octopus I have ever had - super tender and tasty. The duck breast was also quite tasty. I could have gotten it a bit under medium and it would have been even better, but it was still good. One thing to note - drinks are super-pricy here!

In our humble experience good French cuisine restaurants in US are rarity, but this one easily can be put in front of the line. Next time we'll be in DC, this is marked spot to dine.

The ambiance was outstanding as was the service. The menu was varied and the food was prepared much better than I was expecting. This was surprising because the prices were much lower than that of comparable restaurants. Public parking was available at a cheap rate across the street from the restaurant. I would came back, again and again.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in DC. I've always had a love for this place, and have visited it many times over the years. We took my new husband's parents here, and they loved it! I had the foie gras and the duck, my husband had the french onion soup (which is amazing!!!) and the sweetbreads. It was an amazing dinner!
