Great food and service. A bit pricey for lunch but it is D.C. Should offer a discounted lunch special.

think after two times, one a business lunch and the other a night out with my wife, this is a better place for business lunch..................dinner was just so/so and the branzino was way over-cooked and dry. nice place but think had an off night.

The lunch was lovely. The waiter was great -- he knew my companion well and offered extra special service. I would recommend tho it is a bit pricey!

I had a very lovely experience at Bistro Bis. The only thing that took away from the meal was that my server was not especially attentive. I started with the octopus, a dish that is very easy to overcook. It was one of the best octopus I have ever had - super tender and tasty. The duck breast was also quite tasty. I could have gotten it a bit under medium and it would have been even better, but it was still good. One thing to note - drinks are super-pricy here!

In our humble experience good French cuisine restaurants in US are rarity, but this one easily can be put in front of the line. Next time we'll be in DC, this is marked spot to dine.

The ambiance was outstanding as was the service. The menu was varied and the food was prepared much better than I was expecting. This was surprising because the prices were much lower than that of comparable restaurants. Public parking was available at a cheap rate across the street from the restaurant. I would came back, again and again.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in DC. I've always had a love for this place, and have visited it many times over the years. We took my new husband's parents here, and they loved it! I had the foie gras and the duck, my husband had the french onion soup (which is amazing!!!) and the sweetbreads. It was an amazing dinner!

Our waiter was very discreet, attentive, though never overbearing, and gracious.
The atmosphere was festive but not noisy and food was very good.

Food was delicious and service was amazing. Immediately upon being seated we were asked if we had any other plans for the evening that required us to depart by a specified time. The maitre’d ensured he kept us on schedule and we were out the door exactly when we needed to be.

We got a last minute reservation...it was convenient to where we were staying.

It's a step up from airport food...waiter was terrible. I believe he hates the place more than my girlfriend and I now do.

Wonderful food in a comfortable environment that truly evokes French style. Attentive and friendly staff. Reasonable prices. If anything, a more expansive wine list would be nice.

A reliable and good option for a business lunch. If there's such a thing as "too fast" service they achieve it. Our check arrived unbidden 35 minutes after we were seated. I understand the need to flip tables but this was a little much.

Came to Bistro Bis for Sunday brunch. It was a perfect experience! No wait, quick service, and great food. The chef is clearly skilled at his trade--pork cooked just right, eggs perfectly poached, frites crispy but not dry, and bearnaise sauce robust yet not overpowering. The atmosphere was warm and inviting--and so were the staff. It is easy to see why this restaurant has garnered so many local awards and accolades. This is upscale French dining at its best.

Food was wonderful, service was lovely (even brought out a surprise birthday treat!). I do wish we had asked to be seated in a different area- the middle section has bright, harsh fluorescent lighting, which makes it feel more like a Denny's than a nice French restaurant. The back section did not have this issue - much better ambiance back there.

We have brunched here a number of times and have always had interesting and delicious foods with good service. It is a great spot if you are heading to Union Station. It is,
however, not a place for private conversation. We could overhear the conversation of diners above us a little too clearly.

THE BOEUF BOURGUIGNON WAS FANTASTIC, THE BEEF MELTING IN THE MOUTH WITH A DELICIOUS SAUCE AND ABLY COMPLEMENTED BY A CREAMY POTATO PUREE.

ALSO LIKED THE SEA BASS TARTARE.

It was the perfect setting for a good, long, intense conversation made possible by seating in a quiet corner (as requested), attentive but not intrusive service, and delicious food and good wine at appropriate intervals.

As always, a lovely experience. We always sit in Steve's section and he takes great care of us. We started with the beet salad and the octopus, which are both excellent. For mains, I had the rockfish special. My husband had the scallops, which he found a little too salty but still liked, and our guest had the chicken, which she enjoyed. We shared the apple tart. We almost always have that, and it's fabulous. Steve then brought out a few small pastries to finish. We'll be back.
