Bistro Bis has consistently been the best Restaurant Week value in DC. Many choices, few upcharges.
The food was excellent as always. I went with my old standbys Beet Salad and Trout, and I had the Opera Cake for dessert--a must try. The service was slightly off this time--inattentive and the wrong drink order at first. But that didn't detract from the excellent meal.
Great as always go to spot
Front room is chilly.
Second time at the restaurant. Both were on New Year's eve. The meal was exceptional on both occasions. The service was attentive but not obtrusive.
We celebrated a b-day here on New Year's Eve day; we all loved Bistro Bis; the food selection was excellent; the food delicious, and creatively presented. Two of us had the duck confit; and loved it. The chef special "clock" dessert was divine; and the creme brulee wonderful. Our server who was also the barkeeper, kept on top of every one of us so well. The bus man kept our water glasses full; great service. The fact that Bistro Bis is within a short walk of Union Station makes it a perfect place to dine before/after arrival on Amtrak or the Metro. Great find in the area.
Completely empty when we ate brunch there a food was great, but service was alright.
Always a dining event I particularly love coming in the warm inviting restaurant in the winter. The service is impeccable and the food sumptuous! Great for dates or catching up with friends.
Delicious meal and great service!!!
Service was very bad. It took an hour for the entrees to come out, and the restaurant was half empty.
My husband and I were meeting a friend who works on Capitol Hill for dinner and we decided to try Bistro Bis. The atmosphere is cozy and quiet which allows for great conversation. The service professional and not pushy. Now to the food...We all three had different dishes and all were very good. They included the Sea Scallops
pan seared with butternut squash, spiced
toasted almonds, black forbidden rice
and ginger-port wine reduction; Sweetbreads à la Zingara
pan roasted veal sweetbreads with trumpet
mushrooms, veal tongue, celeri root
purée and truffle madeira jus; and Magret de Canard à l’Orange
pan roasted duck breast with tangerine, roasted
chioggia beets, brussels sprouts, hazelnuts,
rutabaga puree and duck gastrigue. We also shared an order of Pommes frites. We did not order appetizers out of concern for getting too much food but the portion sizes were very reasonable and next time we will go for a first course! They have an excellent selection of wines by the glass which worked well since we were all having such different entrees. We will definitely be back!
Don, Norm, Betsy and the crew at Bistro Bis always make my experiences at Bistro Bis Amon the best in town. You can’t go wrong at Bistro Bis ... ever!
Great service with Evelyn. Wonderful meal. Terrific wine list
We will be back again and again!
We had a weekday lunch with friends. The food was okay, just not special. One more f the group had onion soup, which was the high point of the meal.
We had a great time with very gracious service. A special occasion, made even more special by the restaurant.
Our dinners were exceptional and the dessert was unbelievably good. Our server was the perfect balance between attentive and hovering.
Excellent, fresh fish, perfectly cooked, swiftly served.
Bistro Bis is my Go To place on the Hill. Love it!
Very standard French cuisine; better options in DC.
Breakfast here is the best. Civilized and delicious.
Steve was one of the best waiters we have ever experienced, wonderful gentleman and always one step ahead!
Loving the quietness. Dining alone, however. My choice of cocktail attract another 2 ladies discussing the drink. Choice of food, our hotels. Good food!
Bistro Bis is one of my most favorite restaurants in Washington. It is very classy and sophisticated, with excellent food and service. I go there often when I want to have a good conversation to catch up with an old friend or get better acquainted with a new one.
Lovely spot for lunch. Very relaxed on the weekend, attentive but not overbearing service, and very well prepared dishes.
Great service and great food. Recommended asking for Steven
Great place for a business lunch near Hill. Always enjoy my visits here.
This is one of my favorite restaurants to take people to when they visit Capitol Hill. The cuisine is consistently very good as is the service.
Terrible service. Bland cold food.
This is my "go to" spot on the Hill! It is a breath of fresh air located in a neighborhood where good food is hard to come by.
A very fine place to eat lunch in the shadow of Union Station. Light and airy. Attentive but not intrusive wait staff.
Once again, Bistro Bis delivered a fantastic dining experience. The service was attentive and the meal was outstanding. I make a point of going there every time I am in Washington, D.C. and have never been disappointed.
Good food, good location, good service. As an out of townner, could not have been a better choice.
Very pleasant and delicious brunch super location. Friendly service. Fair prices. Excellent attentive care. A real find
The service was outstanding. The food was a little stuffy and not particularly well paired or prepared. It was an interesting mix of flavors that didn't quite mesh.
They gave us a table in the back for the birthday celebration and with the addition of a cutting fee for the cake served our brought in cake in individual servings beautifully plated with ice cream and a strawberry. Everyone loved their meals.
Located near Union Station and The Hill, Bistro Bis is consistently a great place to dine. Hotel George is a funky hotel and offers a great lobby to wait for your guests or you can sit at the Bistro Bis Bar. Food is excellent and this is the perfect place to have a business meal.
Always good and great service.
Our waiter, Olga, is a credit to youe establishment.
Great food and wine
We have dimed here on many occasions, but it had been a while. My aunt & uncle were in town, plus a childhood friend. Everyone else ordered steak frites, upon our server’s recommendation, and my mother’s go to. I had the bouillabaisse. We had charcuterie and salads to start— these were all great. The entrees failed. No one enjoyed their steak and my bouillabaisse included gritty mussels and not very tasty broth. Can’t imagine coming back.
