Love this place! Only thing was the brunch menu featured on Open Table/website had been changed and there was no brunch today. Lunch only. But wow hotel/ Bistro/ Beach =perfect day!
We had a reservation and sat down at 7pm. About 10 minutes later bread came to the table. At 7:30pm we finally asked for water. Suggest getting some water and drinks to the table more quickly. Server apologetic, got a free glass of wine. Very nice Ritz touch, but the water thing was prettt bad. Under staffed due to covid but providing feedback to help (not to complain).
Food was not the quality you would expect from a hotel of this quality
We had a nice dinner at the Bistro. German, our waiter, was excellent. He explained the various dishes and gave a good wine recommendation. I was a little hesitant to eat here as previous reviews said the service was very slow. The restaurant appears to have corrected this problem as they were very well staffed and attentive.
The food was very good, but not the best we had on our vacation. I had one of their mocktails which was very tasty. And, the desserts were yummy. The resort is beautiful and has great ambience. Service throughout the resort was outstanding.
I took to friends out to lunch as a mini baby shower celebration. We wanted something classy and nice so I thought the Ritz would be a great choice. This was definitely not the case. While all the servers were nice and trying to be helpful, they were clearly very understaffed and my guess is very new and still learning the menu.
The food was okay- not bad but absolutely not worth the $20-40/plate cost. We sat outside under a heater that immediately went out- asked 5 people to turn it back on and received blankets after 2 hours of being very cold. The heater was never turned back on. We were sitting for at least 30 minutes before our order was taken and waited another 15 before receiving our mimosas.
My recommendation is that this restaurant either charge less for their mediocre food or seat less people so their staff can catch up. However if you are looking for fine dining, this is definitely not it.

Beautiful setting with ocean views from our patio table. Excellent service from our waiter German. Delicious food (BLT sandwich and chopped salad). Nice wine list, and good recommendations from German.
We ate breakfast and lunch a couple of times at the Bistro. The food quality was very good and the service was excellent. I felt it was a bit pricey for what it was though!
Brook, our waitress was the kindest and efficient server ever. She made sure that I received my cocktail just the way I wanted. The manager came to my table to prepare the drink to perfection. He called it a reconstruction margarita. Both shared quips and stories about their enjoyable experiences working at the Bistro. We ate both breakfast and dinner there. The food was excellent as well as the ambiance. Thank you.

Ricotta Lemkn waffle was perfection.
My food tasted like salt was poured into it. Waitress didn’t come around often. Bread had to be asked. Would not dine again.
We waited for two hours for our food. It was mind boggling.
We were celebrating my daughter’s 13th birthday there. I had ordered a medium rare filet mignon for dinner. It was the worst. It was mushy and gray in the center. Just awful. The staff never acknowledged my daughter’s Birthday. Typically I am used to a special dessert provided to the birthday person, but this restaurant did nothing even though I had ordered and paid for dessert. I mentioned my displeasure after I had paid and tip the waiter 25%. I told my story to Billy who was our cart driver and he took my information and said he would try to rectify the situation. It’s been 3days and there has been no contact from the hotel nor any action taken from the hotel restaurant. I am actually an Ambassador Elite member with Marriott which is the highest membership level. I really expected that the hotel would some how rectify the situation at their restaurant, but nothing. I would not recommend the Bistro restaurant at the Ritz Carlton in Santa Barbara.

Hmmm... their brunch really was underwhelming. As a regular at Bacara, it was very disappointing.
We had a wonderful meal and the team was outstanding... focused on every detail. Mary was just incredible and we will be back very soon for another stay on the property ... and coming back into The Bistro for breakfast. Thanks to the entire team and especially Mary. Thanks, Steven & John
Good food, good service
Service was beyond excellent.
Brunch was delicious. They're doing a great job following the covid guidelines. Only bummer was there was a tree cutter sawing the whole time.
The Bistro was closed so we were re routed to Angel Oak. The food was very good, and the view was spectacular. The staff did a great job of safety and cleanliness. We even got a temperature check before we were seated.

All seating is nice right now and breakfast was top notch. Compliments to the chef and we will be back!
Food was good, service is great, even given it’s a resort some of the items are way overpriced. For instance $9 for two shots of espresso. Otherwise good place.
I really liked The Bistro, I shared a burger and the Shrimp salad with a mimosa (subbed pineapple juice for OJ- trust me, it's your new fave, thank my later). The food was really good and the server was very nice and attentive. They split our food for us and brought us a little treat because we were celebrating our anniversary. It was a great experience and I will definitely be back to try all the brunch items.
We went to The Bistro for my husband’s 50th birthday. The meal was delicious/ I had halibut & my husband had the filet mignon. His was well done & he ordered medium rare. They brought a delicious dessert for him. Their cocktails are fare but Overpriced for a Martini size cocktail for $22. Overall it was a nice evening.
We ate there for brunch and the skillet was excellent. I will have that again.

The food was delicious (breakfast pizza and banana pancakes), the service was prompt and friendly, and their Covid protocols were impressive.
We had an amazing birthday celebration for my mom. Logan was our waiter and he went above and beyond. He recommended the salmon and it was delicious. My dad is handicapped. The staff made sure to put us at a table with enough room for his wheelchair. Highly recommend The Bistro.
