Always exceptional quality food.
If you’ve never tried Afghan food you’re truly missing out on one of the most amazingly seasoned foods you’ll ever have. Do yourself a favor and find out for yourself why they are so well rated and a Top Washington magazine recognized restaurant.
Excellent restaurant, great food, service was five stars...
Bistro Aracosia is excellent. Tremendously tasty food - appetizers, entrees and desserts. Very fairly priced and the service the best that we had anywhere in the DC and Baltimore area. Staff are just supreme!
My husband and I knew we were in for a special treat just by the complimentary bread and sauce options— the flavors were outstanding. And of course our appetizer and entrees did not fail to disappoint. The dumplings and lamb stew were quite tasty. Lovely restaurant for an intimate dinner— very romantic ambiance.
Tgis was our first time visiting This place was fantastic!! The food
Service was slow tonight which is my only complaint. The food is always extremely good
The beef tenderloin and lamb chops practically melted in our mouths. They were perfectly seasoned and cooks perfectly to our request (one med rare and one medium). The sabzi and kadoo were delicious. Loved the saffron tea, too!! Great service from everyone.
We were treated to a comped app and after dinner limoncello when the table before us wld not leave and delayed our seating by 15 mins. That shows how much they appreciate their patrons. Meal was delish and wld highly recommend! Their Hot Mazza App was really really good and I had their Mixed Grill Mazza since I was kinda full from the apps and bread. Meat was cooked perfectly. Friends had the salmon and spice risotto w eggplant and butternut squash they both enjoyed and my husband had one of the chicken qorma and he said he’d order again! They have limited outdoor seating which is where we sat - it was warm out but cooled down as night progressed. Overall a great night out!
Their food, as always, was excellent. But they were out of the item we wanted - the lamb chops. I enjoy the four different kinds of dip they serve with the bread. Very special. We sat indoors but it got crowded as more diners came in. May not be able to do that if the pandemic isn't over.
Another outstanding meal. Sitting outside did not deter from the wonderful experience. Great food and service.
This family owned restaurant is one of our favorites - food fabulous and service perfect. We love this place.
As always, Bistro Aracosia was wonderful. Delicious food, excellent service and a very pleasant ambiance (not noisy at all).
I will returno soon.
Keep the good work!
This place is a favorite and we were glad to be back for the first time since the pandemic. Attentive service and excellent food! The lamb and beef tenderloin kabobs were perfectly cooked and delicious. Only complaint was that I was too full after my entree to fully enjoy the excellent pistachio cake I ordered for dessert.
Great food, excellent and friendly service. We will return. Yum!
We loved our time at Aracosia. The food was delicious - those dumplings!- and our waitress was charming and efficient. Our lamb tenderloin was tender and perfectly prepared. A piece of yummy birthday cake was produced for the birthday girl.
We will be back - often!
Bistro Aracosia is the place to go for authentic Afghan food and ambiance. It is often busy, so be sure to plan ahead with a reservation.
We ate outside on the deck at Bistro Aracosia. The food was delicious, the service excellent.
But the restaurant really needs to do a better job of cleaning the deck and the carpets on the deck. It was not pleasant to eat in the dirty surroundings. In addition, the deck is very close to the curb, and there was a fair amount of trash where the street meets the curb. And for some reason the ramp at the corner from the street to the sidewalk was thick with mud. Now I realize that this is the responsibility of the DC govt, but if we waited for them to do everything they should…..well, don’t hold your breath. So…Owners/Managers of the Bistro, it would improve the outside ambiance if you would occasionally clean the edge of the street and sidewalk in front of your restaurant. Your customers will appreciate it. You obviously take pride in your cooking. Do the same with the appearance of the outside of the restaurant. (I haven’t eaten indoors so don’t know what the situation is there, but if it’s dirty outside, it makes me wonder.) Thanks.
I LOVE this place! The food is amazing, and the menu is quite extensive so there is something for everyone. We were trying to decide between a few of the cake flavors for dessert and our waiter ended up bringing us a piece for free. Have been here a few times before and will continue to come back!
Absolutely wonderful food, nice setting, very good service.
Great and attentive service. Food was very nice though appetizer portions were very small for the price
Great food and service
I love this restaurant! The food is fantastic and the patio is fun. Highly recommend!
Not to be missed! A variety of food at a range of prices.
As always, Bistro Aracosia in the District was terrific.
Our server was new to the job but it did not seem like it as he was bright and was familiar with talking about different menu items. 10/10 would do again
It was lunch with two other friends. We have all eaten at Aracosia before. The food was good. I had chicken ryehaan - absolutely delicious. I had thought of just eating half and taking half home. But it was so tasty I cleaned my plane.
Delicious food with friendly and very well informed service.
Interesting menu. Good wine list. Courteous service. Easy day-time parking. Ideal lunch spot. Plan to try dinner next.
Delicious lunch, good vegetarian options. Great service. Very accommodating
The food was excellent! I will definitely be going back.
This was my first time at Bistro Aracosia. I'll certainly go back. The food was delicious and the staff was aiming to please.
Good neighborhood spot. The food is very good and the service very nice.
The food and service at Arcosia are always outstanding!
Vast selection of dishes, excellent vegetarian options! Service was fast, waiters were very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We have had Afghani food before, but the food served at Bistro Aracosia just felt more authentic. Would highly recommend this place for any special occasions, dates etc.
The food is familiar yet unique with Afghanistan's own take on spices and preparation. We had variety plates for appetizers and the main course, and every single thing we tasted was superb. We are vegetarian and there are many choices for vegetarian eaters (and they offer almond yogurt for vegans who don't want yogurt sauce on their food).
In addition, the waiter we had was very knowledgeable, professional, and gave us perfect recommendations every time we asked for one.
We ate outside on their front "porch". They've created a cozy and comfortable spot for outdoor dining, sheltered from the elements but still feeling outdoors.
Food was delicious. Service was efficient and warm and welcoming.
I loved this place. The wait staff was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. They brought out a little birthday cake for my bestie who we were celebrating for. I have no complaints and we will come back. I even loved my left overs that I had for breakfast today. Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect.
Try tomato lamb stew, that was the best. Eggplant squash also beautiful. Liked assorted lamb platter too. Their lambs are so fresh.
The host’s service was impeccable!!!! Loved her service and knowledge of dishes.
The trick for us elders with hearing issues is to eat here early as the restaurant began to fill up by 6:30. We were a party of 6 and sat inside, able to hear one another for about 1-1/2 hours. The food was delicious; our waiter recommended great starter courses to share, and we all enjoyed the mains that we ordered. My husband and I shared two different starter courses for our mains and were charged a surcharge, which I thought was a bit odd. We don't want the quantity of food offered for mains in most restaurants. Why should we be penalized for choosing two starters? We lived in Afghanistan, so this food is always a treat and Aracosia does it well.
