This restaurant is a neighborhood favorite so it is often crowded, which translates to the need for reservations and the willingness to be seated near other tables. That said - the food and service are terrific and the portions hardy. A great place to go with friends.
Best rest in town
Need to be re decorated nicely but food is very good
Great! Really Great! Really, really Great!
This was a very enjoyable experience. Our service/ wait staff was excellent. Food was very good. Love this place
As usual, the food (lamb kebabs and appetizers) was outstanding and the service was courteous and excellent, even if a bit slow on a crowded evening.
Nice food with a different taste ! I like the traditional and the new option! Definitely good for vegetarians
I was unable to actually dine in this restaurant because when I arrived I found that it was not wheelchair/handicap accessible .Nothing on your website nor on the restaurants website indicated this failure to comply with ADA accessibility requirements. I would have expected more from this website and the restaurant to provide access or at least the courtesy of notice of failure to provide such access. Fortunately, the day was saved by a lovely restaurant, nearby, Et Voila, which was accessible and provided an excellent meal.
Absolutely fabulous service and food. The flavors were terrific and our waiter made great recommendations based on our likes and preferences.
Good wine list to pair with the meal’
BA is an excellent restaurant that is great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike! The experience begins with excellent bread and relishes to begin and the appetizers are delicious. The restaurant continues with excellent main courses such as the lamb stew and eggplant stew and grilled lamb chops and beef. I highly recommend BA!
The food was fabulous! Everything we ate was delicious. Wish I lived closer (we’re from Connecticut) so I could try everything from their extensive menu.
I can't say enough about this restaurant. It maintains a neighborhood family-run feel but still feels sophisticated. The food and service are phenomenal. Easily one of my favorite DC restaurants.
Lovely neighborhood gem. Great food. We missed the music which was in the other room; will specify next time. Very good service. Highly recommend
Another delicious meal at Bistro Aracosia. Tasty food, good value.
Great food & good service and at 1pm it was not too crowded and so easy to talk.
It was great except that the waiter kept coming by every two minutes to see if we were ready to order not long after we'd arrived. That was definitely not relaxing! And then later he kept interrupting in a very abrupt and brusque manner to ask if we wanted other things.
Bistro Aracosia was one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. The service went above and beyond to make my husband and my anniversary extra special. The food and flavor was amazing, I had the chicken breast kabab, my husband had the lamb kabab both were delicious. This is a must place to visit if you are anywhere in the D.C. area! We loved our food and hospitality!
One of my favorite restaurants in DC. The menu has many excellent and creative choices that are delicious and well-prepared. Service is very good, and the atmosphere is cozy and well done. Even when full, the noise level in this restaurant is moderate - you can comfortably carry on a conversation. Overall a real winner!
A consistently 5-star restaurant. The warmth and friendliness of the managers and staff is evident. The menu from appetizers through dessert is chock-filled with deliciousness. Bistro Aracosia is a real gem that shines brightly every time we dine there.
Great venue - really friendly service and very accommodating. Looking forward to another visit soon!
Fantastic authentic Afghani food. Almost a mystical experience. Staff very nice too
The food here is consistently good. I really enjoy the way they mix spices in a way that creates a variety of flavors. Went with someone who was gluten free and they were sensitive to that.
I continue to love this place. They have never failed me.
The service, food, and ambiance were superb, as usual. It is clearly one of Washington’s best restaurants.
Excellent foot and service! Well be back!
We loved it and will definitely return! We had the Mezza starter, which wasn't quite enough for lunch for two, but almost, and added a salad. Portions are generous and everything is tasty. Our servicer were very helpful, which was appreciated because it's such a big menu and everything looks great. We went early and had a sunny table in the front room and it was pretty empty. By the time we left around 1pm, however, it was crowded. I recommend the front room which is sunnier. I also bought a take home of the avocado chutney which is a 16 oz jar.
I brought a guest who is a very opinionated foody, and after our wonderful dinner, she said this is where she wants to have her birthday dinner! The only problem is getting a reservation, so plan ahead.
Fifth time at Aracosia, as delightful as the first. We love the superb food and the friendly, efficient service. The decor is so nice and welcoming at lunch or dinner. We will keep coming and bringing family and friends. Thank you.
Fabulous meal and great service.
Wonderful place! The staff are super friendly. We took their recommendations when we ordered and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the turnover sampler and I could’ve just ordered more of it for my whole meal!
Our mains were fantastic as well! Will definitely be going back!
This was our first visit to Bistro Aracosia. We were concerned that it might be too noisy for us (we are older than most and have hearing aids) and that the food might be too hot or exotic. As it turned out, the food was delicious, the service friendly and prompt and the noise tolerant. We had a wonderful evening with my son and his wife and certainly will be back.
The food was fantastic and the service excellent. They even helped us celebrate a birthday in a most special way with desert and candle and a glass of champagne!! What a lovely surprise. We will be back and can hardly wait for them to open in McLean!
Our second visit with out of town guests and once again Bistro Aracosia proved that they know how to make wonderful food. The salmon - amazing, the Lamb Moguhli- amazing, the kebabs- my son wanted to know how we can find a take out place that makes them that amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Amazing food, beautiful dining room, and the nicest people working there. The manager and owner are both passionate about their food and eager to help first-time visitors experience all the yummy food. Highly recommended.
This was a fantastic meal from start to finish. Wonderful food and solicitous and friendly service. I have eaten here previously and it’s always been great, but I think this was the best ever!
Amazing fresh and flavorful food, and a wonderful, attentive wait staff. We will be back!
This restaurant is fantastic! I wonderful experience trying new things made even easier by an awesome staff. Food was perfect!
What a great experience from the food which was absolutely delicious to the waitress whose name I believe was Nima. My wife and I particularly loved the pumpkin and butternut squash that was combined into a stew. We liked the restaurant so much we plan on coming back in a few weeks for our 25th anniversary.
The food at Bistro Aracosia is plentiful. The portions are quite big and the meat dishes are well-cooked with lots of spices and vegetables. I appreciated the beer list, which includes several top Belgian beers in bottles, although a bit pricy for some of them.
Bistro Aracosia is consistently excellent!! I love this restaurant.
Our server, Titi, was phenomenal, suoer friendly and very accomodating. Knowledgeable on the menu. We were a large party and she chose the entire memu for us, as we were unfamiliar with Afghan cuisine. Everything was delicious. Highly recommendable.
