We had a wonderful server and delicious food. The restaurant was especially attentive to my food allergy too. Looking forward to a return visit.
There's a reason this place has 5 stars. Service is great, food is delicious. Food is made with lots of love so don't expect it to come out in 10 minutes!
Wonderfully complex Afghani cuisine-- extensive and interesting vegetarian/ vegetable menu (think sabzi, butternut squash and pumpkin dishes..) as well as a range of meats and poultry. Hospitable host and staff.
A bit quieter at lunch than weekend dinners when it gets very busy.
Love love love this restaurant - only downside was the table next to us was large and quite loud so it was a bit difficult to hear each other. Otherwise fabulous.
Interesting spices, and a good range of meat and veg options. The sambosas are superb, and the lemon carrot salad opened up whole new areas of taste. Nice ambience, excellent service. Definitely would recommend.
Great neighborhood dining -- the lamb shank was fabulous. The grilled tenderloin kebabs were a bit overdone and chewy, but the manager brought us some additional pieces that were perfect! Service was excellent.
Excellent (and unique) food, great service, family friendly setting.
Outstanding food and attentive service. Nice sauces with bread as appetizer. Goodmsuic.
Food excellent as usual. Great variety of dishes and wine list enticing . However, service was not as good as it used to be. This deficiency ought to be adressed in my view if this restaurant wants to keep its excellent rating
Afghan food is a cuisine one seldom sees in the DC area, and Bistro Aracosia hits it out of the park - its grilled items and stews are both superb, as are the various dumpling appetizers.
Always first rate
Was just great. All the courses. They are also very friendly and concerned that all are having good time. Tables are squeezed together which is a little uncomfortable as when waiters walk by they can hit chair. So it’s loud but still a fun place. The kabobs were all great. As we had to wait awhile for our table to open up they comped us a bottle of wine which is generous. All and all a super fun place with extraordinary food and their love for what they are offering is just cream on the top!!
Fantastic experience. Warm and cozy, superior food and service. Love this place whether for special occasion or everyday dining.
Overall the experience was ok, but my entree (chicken kabobs and saffron rice) was served cold! Clearly, it had been sitting out in the kitchen for too long. The place was packed, but they need to have better service so entrees don’t get served cold!
The food, ambiance, service were all excellent! We will be back!
Always amazing! Definitely one of my favorite places.
Great little bistro - the smells, the flavors, the taste - all exceptional. Great selection of vegetarian dishes, along with traditional meat dishes. Pumpkin dumplings and sabzhi are two of my favorites!
Staff is very pleasant and food is excellent. It is not a light meal
The food is really authentic and delicious Afghan cuisine with fresh ingredients and high quality meats/poultry. We enjoyed the quail and beef and the aushak appetizer was amazing, along with two kinds of eggplant and butternut squash.
We've eaten at Aracosia c5 times, and like eat more each time, as we explore new dishes. The staff is welcoming and efficient, and the food is delicious.
Everything about our experience was great!
The food is delicious! And the servers our very warm & helpful.
An interesting experience for those who are not familiar with the cooking of this venue. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. A neighborhood gem.
This’s is a great place to meet up with friends. The food is delicious and distinctive. We especially enjoyed the smoked eggplant and the butternut squash. Perhaps the best part of the evening is the warmth of welcome and the pride with which the food and drink is presented. Off the places up and down MacArthur this is the place that feels as if you are being entertained in a home rather than served in a restaurant.
Love this neighborhood resturant. Food is fabulous. Service is superb.
Such gracious service and the food is wonderful. A very extensive menu with something for everyone--meat lovers and vegetarians. There were 5 of us and we ordered 2 entrees and 2 appetizers which was plenty for us (all women). Plus one of the owners talked to us for awhile about Sufism, an Islamic religion. Quite educational.
Everything about Bistro Aracosia is wonderful! I have been there at least 12 times since it opened.
Our go to place when in the DC area. The lamb chops are outstanding, side dishes are exceptional and bread is amazing.
Great customer service and absolutely delicious food, like it’s home cooked. The restaurant is owned by a gentleman and his nephew, and they are both very welcoming and knowledgeable about the food.
Excellent Afghan food. The pumpkin (kadu) was especially good, as was the goat stew.
Great food, comfortable atmosphere, super wait staff and management
We had a family brunch here. Everyone was thrilled and it was delicious. Great place. Wonderful atmosphere!
We went for lunch on a Saturday and was not disappointed. This was our second visit to Bistro Aracosia. We had the Quroti and Mantu for appetizers and the Veal Karahi and a Goat meat lunch special for the main course. All the items lived up to the standards of this great Afghan restaurant, except the Goat dish, which I thought did not go well with the wild rice and the sweet carrot strips.
Food was very fine Portions larger than I could eat. Service- good. A bit crowded and somewhat noisy.
I wondered about fire code and exits. I’ve taken several guests there and they all want to return.
Delicious food and great hospitality
Enjoyed atmosphere and food. Large portions, and interesting tastes in sampler of mostly vegetarian dishes we had. There are a large variety of dishes, including meats offered, and we will return to try others.
Both food and service are excellent at this restaurant. As a vegetarian, it's so great to find a restaurant of this caliber with such a large selection of vegetarian entrees. And my vegan friend who went with me on my most recent visit was also quite pleased to find dishes she could eat.
And best of all, this gem is right in my neighborhood!
The service is absolutely wonderful. And the food is delicious!
Birthday very interesting and delicious vegetarian dishes
Bistro Arcosia has wonderful food and a terrific staff. The spices were perfect on our dishes, and they have a very extensive menu of Afghan food. The cocktails were also good and unique. Once a large table of high schoolers left, talking was easy throughout our meal. We loved the fact that our waiters could steer us through the rich menu, and give us lots of information about Afghanistan and Parsi authors as well! The premises are inviting. We'll be returning with friends.
