The Dentons have done it again! Ambiance, service and most of all the food. All really enjoyable. In fact we ran into a couple while waiting for our table said this was their third meal at Bistro Agnes in two weeks. We will be back. I’m already craving the chicken liver mousse.

We went there for our anniversary/Valentine's dinner. The Dentons knocked it out of the park with the steak frites and filet mignon, just straight delicious and cooked perfectly. The creme brûlée for dessert was amazing as well.

A delightful evening and meal. Special family occasion. Service and greeting were excellent. Server knew the items and advised accurately. Good wines by glass. Wine list deep enough; moderately expensive but acceptable. The ceiling has dark sound-absorbing tiles and so it is possible to talk comfortably and pleasantly to companions -- a very welcome change from usual subway-station roar in many PDX high end restaurants. Had mussels, pate, and onion soup for starters, then cassoulet and beef bourginon for mains. Hardly dented mains -- soup plus dinner is a lot, and we took home hefty lunch for next day. Beef was fork tender, braised and reduced, just delightful; cassoulet baked several times and had trace of crust on white beans; duck also falling off bone. Both dishes superb, and I've had both in Paris. We didn't come close to desserts. Expensive meal; tipped well (service very good); but for serious foodie or big occasion, highly recommended. Will certainly go back. Planning lunch service eventually -- can't wait.

We will definitely go back. Portland needs a good French bistro. Food was well prepared and tasty. A bistro should serve bread; we asked for some and it came icy cold - obviously not something they intend to serve. We were sharing dishes in order to taste more things; we had to wait for new silverware, plates; I gather they are not attuned to that yet.
Nevertheless, it was a good experience.

The chicken liver mousse is fantastic and their wine selection is excellent with some affordable bottles available. Chicken is something we rarely choose but it was incredible. Very tender and juicy. The service was attentive and there were excellent specials even if they were sold out by the time of our reservation.

Food was delicious, good service, chicken and steak were both cooked perfect, the French onion soup was delicious. Had a little trouble picking out a good wine, didn't have a staple Bordeaux (Margaux, Pauillac, or St Estephe) or Italian (Barolo, Barbera, or Brunello) that was under or close to $100, but that's just nit picking.

Enjoyed the fresh organic food and attention to details. Booked Bistro Agnes because I saw it on Fox 12 More and thought we would try it for our anniversary. This restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks and James our waiter was on top of our every needs from filling our water glasses, to clearing the table between courses, suggesting a great wine selection and even giving us a little history of how Bistro Agnes got started. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that would enjoy a relaxing, remarkable evening dinner out.

We were in Portland for one night and were able to snag two seats at the bar. The bartender was top notch and steered us in the direction of a gorgeous Bordeaux blend and helped us with food recommendations. My girlfriend's steak was perfectly cooked and my cassoulet was delicious, hearty, and wonderfully filling (as any cassoulet should be). One of the best meals I've had in a while, and one of my overall favorite dining experiences ever. We will definitely be back.
