Fantastic food with amazing specials. Such pretty views of the vines in the winery too. And the service is always top drawer, willing to amend the menu to suit each pallette.

I couldn't recommend this place more for a really special night out! We had a wonderful birthday dinner here on a quiet Monday evening in the middle of winter. Had the place completely to ourselves! Loved it like that … got to sit anywhere we wanted and had our own personal waiter (Jay - he was great). We chose a window table downstairs by the fireplace with a view over the vineyards … perfect. The food was delicious … couldn't fault a thing. Just too bad we ate so much of that yummy, fresh homemade bread as not only could we not finish our main courses but we had no room for dessert. Boooo. But good excuse to come back again! ;-)

With a restaurant consistency is the Key, a couple in our party of 6 have dined there several times and ordered the lamb shank each time and him being a foodie I trusted his recommendation. It was a Saturday Night with a large party upstairs which mat have contributed to the quality of the food. The service was good and the atmosphere was great, but the food was just average. The Lamb had no taste at all where one of my guests had to ask for salt, even my guest that been there before asked for the salt which he never does, and admitted the dish was completely disappointing and not like the other times. The scalloped potatoes that usually come hot and creamy was served in a warm brick, the sauce/seasoning was like water, again perhaps for the the event upstairs. The stuffed chicken dish i was told was way to salty maybe they salted the chicken twice instead of the lamb, and the steak seemed to be enjoyed, shrimp was small and OK and the beef tips seemed to be overcooked. Normally do not like Ontario wines but I must say the wine was the best I have tasted in Ontario which led me to take home a couple of bottles for my cellar. Overall the food was cooked well but had very little taste. The cheese cake however was one on the best I tasted anywhere which left me talking they next day. I believe management has to evaluate the kitchen staff for consistency. We may try the restaurant another time based on the fact my buddy was there before with good experiences, but if I get the same result I will not be back.

Loved our anniversary dinner!! I ordered the rigatoni it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the lamb shank. The meat overall tasted good, it was a tad bland could have used some spices. Overall though it was an amazing meal, our waitress was great!!!!

The entire experience was excellent and memorable. We were immediately greeted by the manager who took us to the table of our choice since it was not crowded.
Our server was attentive and she well described the evening’s specials. We were not rushed in considering our choices. Our drinks were prompt and our food was well presented.
I had the blackend salmon with the soup of the day and thoroughly enjoyed both. The dessert offers were very interesting and I’m sure would have been very good but I was very satisfied by that point and had to pass on dessert.
We were impressed enough that before we left, we made dinner reservations fo New Year’s Eve.

Dinner was fabulous. The mussels were just wonderful. The service was awesome. Thank you Ellen for being such a great server.
Everyone had a great time!! We will be back.

Atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant was very modern with nice features. The shop was very quaint with some great gift ideas. The food was nice but expensive for what we received. The steaks were not cooked how ordered. The vegetables where cold. The special ‘gnocchi’ was delicious. Very fresh but I was told it came served on a bed of spinach, there were 4 pieces of spinach! Wine was fantastic

Another great meal at Bistro 42! The meal-- one of us had the steak, the other, the chicken-- was delicious! . We had the steak tips to start which were yummy and more than enough to share. But the biggest winner was the service. They were hosting a wedding reception upstairs in their normal dining room area, so we were situated on the main level near the tasting bar, which we knew about in advance as they were kind enough to call us to inform us in advance, making sure that we were ok with this arrangement. Our waitress, Soencer, was lovely. Very efficient, attentive, and professional. When our appetizer was slightly delayed due to the wedding meals going up, she apologized profusely and often, even though we said we were in no hurry and all was well. Then the GM (I'm sorry, I can't recall your name...) came to the table, added his apology, and told us he was comping our appetizer as well as the glasses of wine we were about to drink with our main course!
Truly above and beyond, and very much appreciated. We would have been back regardless, but just felt this merited sharing.

The noise level was very high at the tasting bar. Glad they closed the folding doors. Nice view however when I make a reservation for a special occasion and ask for the best seat in the house I do expect a nice table with a view. Had to ask for a window seat. Great service from Jay!! Yummy food and drink. Thanks.

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic views and ambiance. Server was lovely! Food was excellent- the salmon was cooked as requested. It was a chilly day and the fireplace was so appreciated!! I will confess I am not a wine connoisseur but the Gewurtztraminer was excellent!

Very relaxed atmosphere. Did not feel rushed at all with excellent service. Food was very good and was pleased that they even suggested the possibility of splitting orders at no extra cost - not often you see this but greatly appreciated. Highly recommend and will certainly return.

We did our tasting first with Gina, she was incredible!!! Jordan was our server and was on point with everything from start to finish.

Overpriced food and underwhelmed with the quality of the food, it was meh, with very poor service. Not sure if the waitress was having a bad day, but not clearing the dishes from appetizers was not cool. Just got not happy vibes from her as well as the place. Won't be going back again.

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner on a Friday. It was not very crowded so we were able to enjoy a fairly quiet dinner with wonderful views. Monica, our server, was great and very helpful. All of us loved our meals. We always dine here during our annual visit to the area. We were happy to be able to make a reservation.

It was extremely noisy, to the point of not being able to hear the waitress talk to us. There was a birthday party going on at the time. The food was not at all tasty, very small portions and was very pricey. Our waitress was excellent. Overall very disappointed with our experience and will not return for dinner.

This is one of our go-to restaurants, and it never disappoints. It is the one winery in the region that has captured the 'California wine country' feel. The views off the back covered porch and upper deck are second to none. The food is always prepared exquisitely. Staff are very friendly, fun to chat with, and extremely knowledgable about their product and region as a whole.
