Established in 2011 by Parisian born Richard Leteurtre and his wife, Gabrielle, Bistro 1902 is not only family-owned and operated, but notably embodies over 35 years experience in cooking authentic French cuisine within the fine dining establishments of Paris and surrounding areas of France.
We each had the tradition onion soup and a standard entree from the dinner menu. The food was very good but the rest of the experience was below average. The entire restaurant had an unusual odor; the men's room was in a bit of disrepair and it was obvious the soap dispenser had not been filled in some time; the wine list was inaccurate and the music being played was entirely inconsistent with a French dining experience.
Unfortunately no mention of it at all , no special menu , which I find surprising for a French restaurant .
Food was excellent , service was spotty and not up to standard for the price point of $45 entrees .
The food was worth it but wish they had a higher quality of service .
Chef / owner was personable .
Richard is fantastic. The food is special
Excellent French food. My wife is French and she loves it here. Had a nice conversation with the owners, in French! Highly recommend it.
Very nice place
Prob too good for the area
Fantastic food and wine. Richard is pleasant and welcoming
Food was sub par - felt like they used cheap ingredients and menu pricing was not what was on open table and significantly priced higher. Everything was initially presented as an upselll. Left my meal pretty much untouched.
Excellent food, great service, definitely a must,
Warm & welcoming chef-owner. Different vibe than most local Hollywood restaurants, food nicely presented, well worth the visit.
The food and service were impeccable. There were a variety of items on the menu that you don't find in other restaurants, like frogs legs. I thought it was a little pricey, but I think most bistros are. It was well worth the cost though since the food was really good and I really appreciate good service.
Great time enjoying our meals in perfect weather. The owner and his wife did a fabulous job. The escargot is a must! Delightful!
Very good table Very good service Le personnel est afable
A lovely, very French atmosphere. Good food. And the owner is tres charmant.
Our waitress was a young beautiful woman from Lyons, only 6-months in the U.S. she was classically French which complimented our experience tremendously. The food was very good and the service was attentive. We will definitely return.
eat Food and atmosphere
Terrible experience on Valentines Day. Parking was a nightmare in Hollywood Circle. It rained right before so I'm sure that made seating difficult with no outdoor seating. It took so long to get a table. I was looking forward to cocktails and they said they lost their liquor license 3 months ago, so only beer and wine. They were very overwhelmed! The food was actually good when it did come. The bang bang shrimp was great. At 10 pm my daughter had to leave to get babysitter home, so they had to take their meal to go! The whole experience was stressful and not the romantic relaxing night I imagined! Perhaps on a normal night I would try this place again, but they needed to get their act together this night and did not succeed!
A lovely dining experience at this French restaurant. Nice ambiance.. we dined outside amongst the pretty plants (inside was pretty too). Salmon delicious pleasantly prepared. Duck confit presented beautifully and enjoyed by partner. Overall lovely.
Loved the service, food and ambiance. Always a great spot for a quite date night.
excellent, the noise come from the street, not their fault.
service , food, excellent
Little bit expensive for wine corkage $25.
We usually pay 5 or 10$ for the same service.
so we did'nt use our bottle, but order 4 glasses of wine, we were 4.
The owner was helpful and charming. The foie gras appetizer is excellent as was the duck entree. All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable meal. We will return
Food was just OK and the service was horrible. They didn't man the restaurant as they should have.
Food was delicious.
Had the wild caught bass.
Service was good, owner had a toothache and had to leave..
Under new management
This place has good food & service
Sea Bass was excellent Dessert was worth the calories
No liquor license just beer& wine
I would go back
Solid French Bistro...food was on the mark, portions reasonable, bread fab, wine super, service well down
The restaurant had a great ambience. The food was amazing. The owner came out and spoke to us, explaining the dishes and we had a great wine tasting session also. The price for this type of restaurant was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
One of the nicest restaurants in the Hollywood, Hallandale Beach area. We have now gone twice and the food is sensational! Richard and Gabby are perfect hosts and everything is done to perfection. You’ll never feel rushed in this establishment and I guarantee that you will enjoy everything you order from your first bite to the last!
Fantastic food and service. A great place for any occasion.
Owner was very friendly. Was recommended that I try the duck legs. Now I recommend it to everyone. Also tried the cab cakes. Plating of food was phenomenal. My guest had the chilean sea bass and I had the filet and lobster special. Both were delicious. Highly recommended for everyone looking for homemade dishes that is willing to pay a little more for better quality.
Very good food, excellent Salade Niçoise, Frog Legs cooked to perfection
Friendly service, I’ll be Back!!
Super food and friendly welcoming atmosphere
Amazing place great food owner is very nice
We had breakfast and it was very good. People are very nice and coffee was tasty.
The food was superb! From the bread served with hummus and blended butter, to the Bronzini, expertly executed and plated so beautifully!
Many dessert selections, did not go wrong with the macaroon chocolat! Our server was perfect, with the ever so pleasant French accent. Will return, merci bien!!
WOW! Bistro 1902 is a jewel! Don’t settle for anything less - Richard and team have recreated a superb dining experience.
From the olive butter and piping fresh rolls, to the amazing bisque d’homard and escargots through to superb scallops and seafood pappardelle and the amazing finishing touch of the cheesecake the food was among the most delicious we have tasted anywhere (and we get around multiple continents).
Standouts include: the escargots- my wife is a connaisseure- and these were amazing with just the right touch of garlic in the wonderful sauce; the cheesecake- no, you have never tasted cheesecake like this , you must save room.
The service was, of course, excellent. The staff and owners were very attentive yet not hovering. Just the right touch.
Definitely a place to visit again and definitely in my top 5 list.
Merci pour la soirée superbe - et à bientôt!
We were looking for a French restaurant, and found this one in the area.
We were disapointed by the offer of French specialties , High prices.
I do not think We shall come back again.
Bistro 1902 was a fantastic surprise for us. It had been recommended by neighbors, but we didn’t expect it to be as wonderful as it was. We were greeted and seated by the owner, Richard. Our table was in a quiet nook. The menu is quite large, and the four of us loved every bite of food that went into our mouths. Our starters included shrimp scampi, burrata caprese salad, and foie gras. Our dinners included scallops, branzino, boeuf bourgignon and crab cake. And we all loved our food. We even had macaroons for dessert. The wine was also excellent. Richard was very attentive throughout the evening. He told us that everything was homemade and freshly made, using only the finest ingredients. Honestly, we can’t wait to go back!
This was actually my third lunch visit to Bistro 1902 - which is a testament to how much I enjoy the food, the ambiance, and the service. During my previous visits to the restaurant with family and friends, each of us found several items on the menu to satisfy our very different palates. As a vegetarian, I was drawn to the baked brie with caramelized apple appetizer, as well as the goat cheese salad. The brie was heavenly - comfort food for adults - while the salad was beautifully presented and quite obviously made with the freshest of local ingredients. As a main course, the wild mushroom risotto with julienne vegetables was simply delicious, with a marvelous flavor. (This can also be ordered with chicken.) Those at the table who were not vegetarians were as enthusiastic about the appetizers as I was - and also raved about the roasted salmon entree with asparagus and almonds. I cannot end this review without mentioning the delightful service enjoyed during each visit, thanks to the hospitality of the owner, Richard. He not only carefully explained everything on the menu, but also stopped by our table several times to chat amicably and engagingly. Of great importance to me is the fact that the restaurant is handicapped accessible and easily accommodates a wheelchair or a scooter. I highly recommend Bistro 1902 - and eagerly look forward to my next visit.
Very large spot, with metered parking available on the street. Open for all meals. We went for a late breakfast. Interestingly the entire menu is in one book, so we got to see the dinner as well as lunch choices. I had a salad, and specifically requested dressing on the side. Of course it arrived with it on top of the entire salad. My friend ordered a Parisian omelet, and strangely no bread was offered or brought to the table for either entre.
The owner was busy with a business vendor at the bar, so we really didn't have his attention in an empty restaurant. He did show us the desert tray that looked amazing, so I'm going to give it a try for dinner.
There is a happy hour, but it is until 5 o'clock or so daily, so what over 18 year olds are you going to attract?
Nice wine list.
Excellent restaurant and food, they have real food!
This address was given to us by French friends on "Frenchies in Florida".
Great bistrot! Richard, the NEW owner, is a real great French Chef. Warm welcome, great service.
GREAT and creative food. We had a magnum delicious goat cheese and fruit salad (we had to share), my husband had a delicious Chilean sea bass and wild rice, I had an incredible " brie en croûte" with caramelized apple and as desserts: HOME MADE key lime pie and a vanilla macaron.
Wine was very good: rosé de Provence and Sancerre.
Great restaurant, great family team. We'll be back!
