Had a reservation for 7pm and arrived near 6:55, noone met us as we walked in, the bartender finally came oiut ask our name but left is standing. Several others came it was confusion as if they were not prepared.
Finally my small party were seated at a huge table by the front door, far to big for us to sit at comfortably and talk. By the front door it wss drafty, cold because many were coming in and too being left standing, we always had people hoovering over us, it was the most uncomfortable I have ever been at a restaurant in 50 years.
Next was service....or lack of.
We sat for almost a half hour before our order was taken.
The waitress forgot my drink, forgot the appetizers we ordered to start.
I believe that because we were put into that oversized large table we were forgotten because we rarely seen our waitress.
When our order came after 50 minutes of waiting it was incorrect. I had ordered my steak medium well, it was brought extra rare, my wife ordered wine, it never came, luckily we had water to drink.
I could bot eat but 4 bites off my steak it had huge gristles in it.
No one ever came to check on us, no manager, waitress activity was almost zero. We ask for bread she never came back with it, all in all it was about the worst experience I ever had period.
We even wanted to order dessert but our waitress left us sitting after our meal with out so long I just decided to cut my losses and leave.
I will say the piano was a nice touch and the pianist was the only good thing about my Valentine's evening.
Last year we came here for our anniversary, this year we came back again for our 30th wedding anniversary. I had booked reservation well in advance and requested a cozy romantic spot. We were going to be seated in the middle of the room till I requested a booth. The waitress came took my husband drink order, I asked for a couple minutes to look at the menu, she comes back with his drink and NEVER ask what I would like, I had to ask someone else to get a drink. Rolls were called and overall the food was just not that good, especially when you get a filet and its $50, I didn't even see that price on the menu. Service was not good, waitress checked on us one time but was more than helpful with the table behind us. It wasn't like there were extremely busy there were a number of empty seats. Sad to say we will not be returning to this place, this was not a way for us to celebrate 30 years of marriage, this was supposed to have been a great dinner but it was not
My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day. The food was great and the service was good!
Loved the rose petals on the sidewalk. A great experience!
I WOULD NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was a special occasion for Valentine's Day. The waitress was scatterbrained and gave no details about any of the food on the menu. She didn't offer to tell us about any specials or give suggestions as to any of the best dishes on the menu. The bread was cold. We ordered hamburger steak and when it came out. It was two prepattied frozen hamburger patties. They were gross and had NO flavor. What came with it was called burgundy mushroom sauce. It looked like a can of cream of mushroom soup with mushrooms added to it. It was nasty. The mashed potatoes were instant mashed potatoes with added garlic and they were cold and tasted just as bad. When we told the manager that the food wasn't good and had no flavor. We were told very rudely that, "We were free to go." Who treats people like that. And who serves frozen prepattied hamburger patties for hamburger steak?
Great Ambiance! Piano was lovely! Food was excellent. .
We chose Bistro 190 from a Groupon offered and the value was fabulous. We bought two steak dinners and they were delicious. We then added a great martini (thanks Brittany!) and desert - my husband had the coconut cake which he loved and I had the orange peel-infused creme brulee, which was beyond delicious. We would go back in a heartbeat, and since we were there at 8pm, and on a Thursday, the place was intimate, quiet and lovely. The only thing missing was the piano playing we'd heard about, but the food more than made up for that!
We absolutely loved finding this spot! From walking in the doors, our waitress, food and leaving it was great. We found this randomly and it was a wonderful experience. Our steaks were actually cooked to our order, appetizers were great. Honestly the best experience in a while eating out. And desserts are to die for. The creme brulee...hands down the best!!!
We had the best meal! Thank you for making my father‘s birthday dinner extra special.
server was great! and the food was to die for. I can't believe we found this gem on our last night in Tennessee we are definitely coming back!
Bistro 109 was a great find. The food was outstanding. Service was excellent and the location was convenient to both Sevierville and Pigeon Forge.
I was a bit annoyed we made a reservation and they gave us a horrible table by the door . It was 20 ish degrees out so every time the door opened we got blasted with cold air! That table should NOT exist! Our 1st night in town after a long trip. Not happy
Best dinning in Gatlinburg and pigeon forge that is not a chain restaurant!
We found the restaurant using OpenTable, and made the reservation. When we arrived, the place was empty, save a couple of folks at the bar. Service was acceptable: just as expected, but not particularly strong either. The bread and pesto provided were excellent. The goat cheese appetizer and tomato jam was AMAZING! Get it. It was fabulous, and enough to share. The entrees were good, but not outstanding. Our table had the scallops (seared well, but a bit underdone), and the veal (the better option). Sides were so-so. The bill wasn't bad for a date, though.
Go for appetizers and drinks, and it's a great place. Choose someplace stronger for a nice dinner.
We saw some good reviews about this restaurant and like to eat at locally-owned restaurants, especially when we travel. However, the reviews did not match the meal. Started with the cheese plate which consisted of 9 slices of various Cracker Barrel cheese, a scoop of goat cheese, some fruit that obviously was cut much earlier, and a small cup of plain pimento olives you'd buy at the grocery store. Not worth $10. Meal wasn't much better. We both had the trout, which came in a generous serving. However, overcooked and no seasoning. Crab meat stuffing was bland. But the real kicker was the side dishes -- canned green beans and boxed cous cous. That's right, the same stuff you'd buy at the grocery store. Literally -- THE-SAME-STUFF. Service was very good and attentive. Wine list was interesting and we liked that it made suggested dinner pairings. However, this meal could have been cooked at home for 3/4 of the price! If you do go, do what we heard other diners doing -- using a coupon from one of those group websites. However, we heard them also discussing the canned green beans.
The food was good. We used a Groupon which gave us $80 meal for 2 for $50. I don't feel the meal would have been worth the full price. Even though we were some of the earliest diners, the only appetizer we wanted, was out. Ambiance, service was above average but I do feel it wasn't worth the full price
