The service was great by Michael and the food was delicious!!
Have been to Bistro 109 many times but this last experience was a bust at every level. Bug in my drink. Scallops (3) small meal portion were overcooked. Ordered orzo instead got wild rice. Desert was fair at best. Don't know if they changed chiefs or new owners but something has changed. We are locals and had a coupon for $5 off would not honor it because we had the smaller portions. The coupon said nothing about must buy the full size meal. Very disappointed for my Birthday.
My dad came into town to take me out for a late birthday lunch and i had always wanted to try this place. The setting and scene is very 1920s-1950s which is how my dad raised me up. It was low key, great music, and even better food. Very authentic. We will be coming back often
Food wasnt worth the price beans taste like came out of can I'm sure steak was microwaved no grill Mark's also was supposed to get 12oz gave 6oz
Great food and great service. Would definitely eat here again
When traveling, we always look for local, non chain eateries. Bistro 109 was simply a wonderful way to start and end our stay in the area. Great food and service. Loved the setting in the old building. Live music on Friday night was a nice accompaniment to our dinner.
Still our favorite spot. The owner and staff our great. We had our wedding reception here years ago and it was great.
A great quiet restaurant in downtown Sevierville that allowed us to escape the crowds in Pigeon Forge. Nice old time atmosphere, very good food and drinks at a very reasonable price.
Practically perfect and some of the best food we've had! A must see if you want to escape the chaos of high traffic tourism restaurants! Very affordale!
Once the individual, who never identified himself, showed us to the table in the back dining room we were relieved as the piano player in the bar area was quite loud. Our server came up and informed us he was unsure whether or not he was going to be our server started to pour us waters. In doing so, almost dropped the water bottle onto one of our party's lap. We ordered an appetizer which was served with 5 rolls plus oil and pesto (no butter was offered or served), both were very good, portion size of the calamari was decent. Thought it was odd the filet mignon's price had a piece of white tape over the price and failed to ask how much for the filet ("Angus Beef" advertised) and decided to order the 12 ounce filet mignon medium rare. The balance of the party went with the pasta. The dinner took a while and we were offered more rolls but never received them. When our dinner was finally served I quickly cut into the two 6 oz filets (knew right then this was not the right choice as your finer steak houses would have cut a 12 ounce filet and not serve two 6 ounce filets plus the quality of beef was a low grade beef and question the "Angus Beef" claim). Both were medium to medium well (ordered Medium Rare). I chose the one which was closer to medium and sent back the other as I wanted to eat my meal with my family and not wait and eat by myself. Imagine my surprise when our server handed me a medium rare 6 ounce steak (end cut) and stated, "do not understand why you sent back the one filet when they were both cooked the same way"! After that comment, and based on the feedback I received from our members of our party on the average tasting pasta (less the lobster ravioli - one thought this was good) we decided to forego the birthday cake/dessert menu and head out. Shocked when I received the bill and saw the filet mignon was $49.00! If this was Jeff Rubys okay but it was not! Having been in food industry 50+ years want to warn out of towners!
This place is a pretender! The menu and the way they advertise screams fine dining, it is NOT!
Food was poor quality....menu sounds great.....but not reality. For example....breakfast sausage was used instead of Tasso ham for the shrimp in grits. I’ve never seen a yellow sauce on shrimp and grits.
The scallops claim a lemon blueberry reduction. It looked and tasted like they had spread blueberry jam on the plate.
I do not recommend this restaurant.
We truly enjoyed our evening with Michael as our server. The food was very good and the ambiance was very special. This was our second visit to Bistro 109 and will certainly return again.
Was not impressed with the food. I have had better meals for a much cheaper price. Luckily I had a Groupon but it was still very expensive. Would not recommend or done at again.
This is a lovely restaurant with a piano bar. The food was good and ambiance even better.
We were looking for somewhere that wasn’t a chain or in the middle of all the tourist chaos. This fit the bill totally!
Fried goat cheese balls were amazing! It was a wonderful break from all of the country/homestyle options in the area. Will absolutely go again next time we visit.
We had made a reservation for 9 following our daughter’s wedding. They were very kind to accommodate us early. The food was delicious. They did a wonderful job with flowers on the table as I requested. However I had requested a wedding cake from the pastry chef.... they did make the appropriate flavor and I had requested champagne or rose gold colored piping and flowers to match her dress. When the cake came it was a plain white icing with no decorations on it at all and they charged 69.99 for a plain cake ( which they had told me 59.99 on the phone). I was totally embarrassed and felt I could have bought the same cake at a Walmart bakery for $25. I recommend you do NOT request a special cake to be made here. The rest of our dining experience was fine
Our waitress was both unfriendly and unhelpful. The 'well done' meat was pink even on the outside. Side item was greasy. The ambience, lighting, music was so nice that I really really wanted to like this restaurant. But I didn't. 😐
A recent incredible find! Love this place ...the food is amazing and the staff top notch! Met the owner and we felt as if we’ve been friend for years. Yep going back next week and the next and and and!!
Excellent place to eat. Our first time visiting but won't be our last for sure.
We decided to make a reservation on a whim while visiting the area for our anniversary. Couldn’t have been happier! Incredible food, quiet atmosphere. The duck entree was perfection. Definitely the dining highlight of our trip and one of the best restaurants we’ve ever eaten at. 5 stars!
The scallops are amazing as is the lamb. The chicken fettucini was great as well. And the tiramisu is not for anyone worried about blood sugar levels;)
Bistro 109 is a hidden gem. Every time we have been, it has been impressive. The food is abundant and delicious. Take my word for it -- order the meatloaf. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The kid's meal my grandson had -- a grilled cheese panini and a half a plate of fresh fruit -- was the best I've ever seen. Please go -- you'll be glad you did.
Food was VERY good, presentation perfect, and service by Michael...over the top!
And the prices more than reasonable...
I love the ambiance, the food, the service. Everything was excellent. I enjoyed Michael. He was an excellent waiter. We may return during our stay here in sevierville.
Very pleasant and great price!
I picked this restaurant online because of the ambience, which was nice. However the food was average, many complained it was not hot, the chicken was overcooked. However the frog legs were great, the only positive from 12 people. If it wouldn't have been for Brittney the fabulous, funny waitress, the night would have been a bomb! She was great!
Brittany was great!
The steak was tender and a great cut. Did need a little more seasoning. Citrus chicken was amazing. Loved the house chips that came with the spinach Parmesan appetizer.
Fantastic find... thrilled we found this wonderful gem in Sevierville. We went for a birthday celebration and can’t wait to return! Now one of our top 5 favorites!
A quaint little restaurant in the heart of historic downtown. We went for lunch and when we arrived we were afraid we were under-dressed based on the decor ... looked very fancy ... but once we got to the back dining room there was a family there as well as 2 ladies who appeared to be having a business lunch. These two tourists fit in fine. The food was delicious!!!!! Service was wonderful!!!! There is a piano in the bar area and I believe they have live music in the evenings ... I'm sure that would be an awesome time to go as well! We'll definitely go back!
Great experience all around. We went on a weeknight that the piano was not played live. It wasn’t crowded at all so we got great attention from our server Zach. Food was excellent. Price was fair given the quality.
Good food, good music, good wine. As anticipated based on prior evening events, we enjoyed the meal.
This place was absolutely great! The food was wonderful, service staff were all friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was awesome with live music and perfect decor. Would recommend to anyone!
Great food. Good service. They had a piano player which was very nice. You could still talk over the music and it was very relaxing. We had some great appetizers and entrees. This place is very good. Good prices. Our service was good as well.
First night was an adventure since we were in the dark. We had wine by candlelight. Second night we loved the peace and quiet. We enjoyed our meal and desert. This was a gift from me to my husband. He loved it
I did the Groupon that was dinner for two. It consisted of your choice - 12 oz. Triple Lime Chicken, 12 oz. sirloin or a combo of 6 oz. each. The meal came with your choice of House or Caesar salad and two sides (non-negotiable) Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Seasoned Green Beans. The food was very good, the staff was friendly and attentive and the piano player was awesome!
This was such a wonderful evening. My sister was in town from Arizona an we shared an awesome evening at the Bistro. The staff, the kitchen, the server made it a special dinner. I will tell all of my friends to try the experience you offer at Bistro 109.
Had a reservation for 7pm and arrived near 6:55, noone met us as we walked in, the bartender finally came oiut ask our name but left is standing. Several others came it was confusion as if they were not prepared.
Finally my small party were seated at a huge table by the front door, far to big for us to sit at comfortably and talk. By the front door it wss drafty, cold because many were coming in and too being left standing, we always had people hoovering over us, it was the most uncomfortable I have ever been at a restaurant in 50 years.
Next was service....or lack of.
We sat for almost a half hour before our order was taken.
The waitress forgot my drink, forgot the appetizers we ordered to start.
I believe that because we were put into that oversized large table we were forgotten because we rarely seen our waitress.
When our order came after 50 minutes of waiting it was incorrect. I had ordered my steak medium well, it was brought extra rare, my wife ordered wine, it never came, luckily we had water to drink.
I could bot eat but 4 bites off my steak it had huge gristles in it.
No one ever came to check on us, no manager, waitress activity was almost zero. We ask for bread she never came back with it, all in all it was about the worst experience I ever had period.
We even wanted to order dessert but our waitress left us sitting after our meal with out so long I just decided to cut my losses and leave.
I will say the piano was a nice touch and the pianist was the only good thing about my Valentine's evening.
Last year we came here for our anniversary, this year we came back again for our 30th wedding anniversary. I had booked reservation well in advance and requested a cozy romantic spot. We were going to be seated in the middle of the room till I requested a booth. The waitress came took my husband drink order, I asked for a couple minutes to look at the menu, she comes back with his drink and NEVER ask what I would like, I had to ask someone else to get a drink. Rolls were called and overall the food was just not that good, especially when you get a filet and its $50, I didn't even see that price on the menu. Service was not good, waitress checked on us one time but was more than helpful with the table behind us. It wasn't like there were extremely busy there were a number of empty seats. Sad to say we will not be returning to this place, this was not a way for us to celebrate 30 years of marriage, this was supposed to have been a great dinner but it was not
