We all enjoyed our dinner at Bisq. The grilled eggplant, shishito peppers and quail were all delicious. The wine list was fun and we enjoyed trying the Baja mexican red! Great night we all thoroughly enjoyed
The atmosphere was nice, wish there were more people. The food was alright, wish there were a few more options.
We're regulars at BISq for dinner, but this was our first brunch experience and we were not disappointed. Had the croque madam and shakshuka. As usual, the dishes aren't exactly what you'd find in a traditional recipe, and are better.
Street seating on the weekend was minimally noisy and staff are the embodiment of friendly and professional as usual.
Really had a great overall experience with service and food. Our server was helpful with our questions and made some great suggestions. We ended the night with a flight which was not planned and a lot of fun.
Great food, service, and ambiance! We loved our dinner there! Everything was so good! We hope to be back soon!
Not the best dining experience. There were several small issues and one big one. The big one was that one of us ordered a quail main that arrived under cooked. The surface was cooked but the inside was literally raw. No one does "rare" with poultry. They took it back, we had to start eating the other dishes so that they wouldn't turn cold, and then the quail finally returned but now over cooked and tasteless. If you're a foodie hoping for a unique dining experience, this was a huge disappointment. Smaller issues were that service was slowly (took half an hour between the bill arriving and our paying it), and they messed up one of our side orders as well, giving us fries but charging us for a salad.
Everything was outstanding,
Loud disco music outside. Had to ask them to turn it down at least 3 times.
Most of the food was great. The Moroccan wings sound more interesting than they are. The only issue was that we chose outdoor dining as we are still a bit hesitant to eat indoors and the traffic noise is significant.
I hadn’t been to Bisq in a couple of years. Sadly, I thought the quality of our food had declined since our prior visits. Steak was on the rubbery side, quail was dry. Wine was fabulous and service friendly. Wasn’t a bad experience at all, just not a fabulous one as it had been on prior visits. Wouldn’t chose to go back because there are so many great food choices around but wouldn’t mind going back either if someone else wanted to. All in all, good but no longer great.
Great time at Bisq last night. We loved the atmosphere and the drinks! Our bartender Fab was excellent and we loved their Amaro selection! We weren’t overwhelmed by the food but perhaps we didn’t order the right dishes. I would skip the expensive dishes and go with the burger and drinks next time!
Really enjoyed the quiet outdoor dining. The staff were attentive and made a wonderful recommendation for a drink pairing with our dessert. The food itself was wonderful!
Absolutely awesome. I am so thrilled that the bar is back open for seating! Exceptional team and great food and drinks. We will be back often!
Good was not good- we use to enjoy this restaurant.
As always, the food was delicious where the preparation was more traditional or inventive. Beautiful inside but outdoor space delightful as well. Will keep coming back!
Our dinner at BISq was a big disappointment, The bartender seemed new and unexperienced. The manager wasn't all that nice. My meal went south when I asked to not have the broccoli. Eventually asparagus was substituted but was super overcooked. The wine selection was poor.
We won't be going back there.
Tiny portions of simple overpriced food. We ended up going to a local pub to get better fair much cheaper. Although the host was very enthusiastic, the wine and beer list was very unusual. The wine list was missing most common varietals and overpriced average beers were served in tiny pretentious glasses.
Amazing food. Incredible people. Operations were so smooth but never interfered with the overall ambiance even with covid restrictions still in place the weekend before Memorial Day. Definitely going to be a regular spot for us! Great to see the neighborhood so lively again!
Always an uplifting and enjoyable experience (and safe!) with amazing cocktails. We dine here regularly, eating indoors even pre-vaccination due to very good layout of tables and staff attention to masks and other protocols. The cocktails never disappoint, and the food is inventive and diverse for all appetites and styles with a combination of small plates and entrees. I had quail and my friends had burgers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The ambience is lovely. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Did I mention the cocktails?
After dining at Bisq for years (and loving it) pre COVID I made this my second venture out to a restaurant after 15 months. From the start it felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. It took 20 minutes to get a drink, the bar staff was not willing to accommodate any deviations from the 5 drinks on the menu, the food took more than 45 minutes and was not only uninspired but cold. (literally COLD). Not a single person stopped by to see how we were doing, our glasses remained empty for much of the 90 minutes... not a good thing to be had. Bad service, bad bar service, bad food. Huge disappointment. I actually emailed the manager asking why the huge shift but he never bothered to answer. Skip it - plenty of places in Boston that need our support and want to stay in business.
Three of us were quite happy with our entrees neutral the forth person found hers inedible.
Apps and drinks were great. Entrees weren’t as great. Service was awesome which made up for it. Would definitely go back.
Disappointed with the portion size. For my $19 entree, I only got 4 ravioli. The ravioli were quite good, but after splitting an appetizer and each ordering separate entrees, we both left BISq feeling quite hungry. It would have been nice if the server recommend that we order more items off the menu.
Nice outdoor area to eat. The service was horrible. Had to ask multiple times to get napkin and silverware.. we ended up eating appetizer with the serving spoon. Waiter would barely ever come by and seemed annoyed every time we tried to get his attention to order another drink or if we needed something. He acted like it wasn't his job or something. The food was just okay and the fries were cold when we got the food which was disappointing but not surprising since it was a while since we had even seen our waiter. Would not go back here!
Birthday - staff made us feel special
We sat outside given the pandemic. Outdoor seating is well spaced and the heaters were strong enough for our full party of 6. The food was also good. However our dinner was unfortunately marred by our experience with our server. He wasn’t very nice, in fact he was fairly rude and extremely curt. He interrupted one of us many times when we tried to explain our dietary restrictions and was very awkward in a way that seemed like he was pressing us for time each time he came over to our table. It honestly felt like that is just his nature, however someone who is going to be that standoffish shouldn’t be waiting tables. Unfortunately the experience was negative enough that I don’t think it’s worth it to ever return.
BISq is a complete neighborhood gem. A great spot for good food, but a limited menu, and also a winebar.
We sat outside far from the heaters and it was very cold! Our server disappeared for long periods at a time and our entrees came out over an hour after we sat down. Fries were great!
We had an absolutely amazing experience at Bisq. We sat outside under the heaters and were completely comfortable in the 40 degree weather. Our food was good, but the service and drinks were GREAT! We ordered a round of cocktails and then a bottle of wine. None of us knew about the wine we ordered, but our server was able to give us an in-depth background on the vineyard and the variety. Our server, Matt, was knowledgeable, fun, attentive, and really made the whole experience one to remember.
Half way through our meal the heaters went out. When this happened the staff quickly changed out the gas and ensured we were comfortable throughout our meal. The whole team was really focused on our experience and were true professionals.
We will absolutely be going back and would highly recommend.
We sat outdoors. It was freezing. Our server seemed annoyed with us when we asked about lighting the heating lamps. The menu needed to scanned in order to see it and it was sealed on the outdoor table. It had been scuffed and marked, so was really difficult to scan . Our server made no attempt to help us. Finally the person who bought the water brought us another piece of paper so we could scan the menu. We ordered the burger, fries and the Brussel sprouts and one of us had drinks. Portions were really small and the food was good (nothing special). Unfortunately the food got cold quickly because it was so cold.
Overall a fair experience, thought we should try the restaurant as we want to support restaurants. Not sure the food was that special and the server who did improve over the course of the service might have put a damper on the experience but not sure we will be back
Great COVID-friendly outdoor space, service and food also lovely. Would def go back.
Everyone was so nice especially Barry the bar tender the food was amazing everyone checked on the table several times to make sure water glasses and drinks were filled it was one of the best experiences I’ve had at a Boston restaurant.
Great atmosphere, great food and excellent service! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun spot in the Cambridge area!
Great place! Better if the night is more about the drinks than the food. The food is fine but the drinks are what keep me coming back
I’ve been wanting to come here for some time and it did not disappoint. Since Valentines Day is typically horrible to dine out, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I can’t wait to return. The service was flawless. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We were not rushed at all and really enjoyed the evening. The food and wine was so delicious. Looking forward to dining at bISQ again.
Fantastic. The service was excellent and the food was even better!
BISq has amazing ambiance and even better food. Unreal cocktails and portions that were the perfect size. We were treated with extremely friendly service and will absolutely be coming back again. Highly recommend the bolognese!
The kitchen nailed it. Great flavor, unexpected comforts, delicious. Service is spot on: attentive, timely, smooth, knowledgeable. Beautiful space. Great experience.
The outdoor seating in November was made manageable by heaters, the service and food was excellent! Will definitely be returning.
The house made ricotta was absolutely amazing. Great fries!
