A wonderful neighborhood find. The food was tasty and well-portioned, the staff was attentive and the atmosphere was peaceful and calm...perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch.
Excellent service, delicious dinner. we'll be back!
Eating outside late in October is a special treat. Our table was nestled in between two very efficient heaters, providing a pleasant and comfortable experience.
The service was excellent with suggestions of cocktails and food made by our fun and knowledgeable waiter.
Having the former chef of the now closed Bergamont was another special treat. It was a pleasure to have his incredibly flavored food again. From the beautiful and delicious beet salad and Pate de Camagne to the roast duck breast and Flank steak the three of us were glad to have dined at Bisq and look forward to doing so again- and soon.
We loved BISq in the past, but this place has gone downhill fast. We ate outside, and it smelled like trash, two of our five entrees (cavatelli and risotto) were mostly butter, we had a hair in a salad, and they blasted 2008 Top 40s so loudly it was hard to converse. We will not be going back.
This was the worst meal I have ever had. Terrible service, rude wait staff, there was a very strong smell of sewage in the patio, there was a kitchen fire, the portions are tiny, overpriced, and burnt. Do not order the risotto or pasta - the risotto is $18 and the pasta is $23 and it is less than a cup of food served on a tiny appetizer plate, with no bread. There were only two cheeses - not the long list of choices on the menu, and it was enough for an appetizer for one person - two slivers of cheese with a few pieces of dried toast. The salads were okay, but nothing special. Mainly, the staff was outrageously rude. Unacceptable.
Had them pick the menu for the table and everything was phenomenal. Lovely relaxing on the patio.
Excellent food (loved the duck), good wine suggestion (enjoyed the Mexican Tempranillo), and very good service. We ate outside on the patio (really, it's set up on the street, but they've added nice barriers, umbrellas and plants, so it feels quite cozy).
Appetizers arrived before our drinks even though we ordered them far ahead of our food order. Portions very small, but tasty. Won’t be back.
First time here, interiors are thoughtful, warm and interesting. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Wine and beer selections were very good. Food was creative and menu seemed to cover a lot of tastes. Felt the portions were smaller than expected especially the large plates. Nonetheless will be back and enjoyed the experience.
An okay restaurant with good food and drinks but nothing outstanding for the price
The natural wines were fantastic. The server worked to make sure we got exactly what we asked for. It was very much appreciated. I had a burger, and it was delicious.
Service was good. Obscene prices for extremely small-plate portions. The food was good, but EXTREMELY salty. Will not return.
Thoughtful Food, Great Cocktails and Wine List. Service is fantastic they always make you feel relaxed.
Went for Sunday brunch. It wasn't too hot out so we sat outside in their extensive patio, but were also offered to move inside if it got chilly which was very nice to offer! Beautiful decor inside. Waitstaff was great - very kind, attentive, and friendly. We chatted with a manager as well and he was friendly and interested. Food was great! Cheese board was good as well as our drinks. Will be going back!
Great service and very appreciative of the coverage from the umbrellas outside since it rained unexpectedly. Our server was knowledgable about the wine list and recommended a nice bottle for us, and the food was both delicious and visually stunning. Shared some small plates between the two of us and they felt like an ode to summer. Always a pleasure to come to BISq.
The restaurant is good. The menu has changed partly due to seasonality of foods and partly COVID complications with availability. Several of my favorites were not on the menu and I did miss them. The service is still excellent.
We went for brunch it was great!!! Food was delicious!!it would be good to have options for kids ( a french toast for $15 or pancakes $16 dollars is expensive). The Pork Belly was outstanding but too small could be good to suggest an extra side with that. Again minor feedback but food was delicious! kudos to the chef
Creative and delicious dishes. It was dead on a Saturday night - I’m guessing because it’s summer in the city - so it was quiet. Our server didn’t seem to know anything about wine or the wine list, but the GM saved the day with amazing service and an amaro tasting that was superb. Props to him for taking the experience to the next level. The rice pudding is out of this world. Love the Krasno orange wine.
PS kitchen staff would so well to at least look busy. It looked like most of the time two of them were just watching videos on their phones. The server must learn the wine list! I’m not expecting a sommelier, but he knew nothing at all on the list so we had to point at everything for him, then repeat it several times, and even then he seemed to struggle.
We all enjoyed our dinner at Bisq. The grilled eggplant, shishito peppers and quail were all delicious. The wine list was fun and we enjoyed trying the Baja mexican red! Great night we all thoroughly enjoyed
The atmosphere was nice, wish there were more people. The food was alright, wish there were a few more options.
We're regulars at BISq for dinner, but this was our first brunch experience and we were not disappointed. Had the croque madam and shakshuka. As usual, the dishes aren't exactly what you'd find in a traditional recipe, and are better.
Street seating on the weekend was minimally noisy and staff are the embodiment of friendly and professional as usual.
Really had a great overall experience with service and food. Our server was helpful with our questions and made some great suggestions. We ended the night with a flight which was not planned and a lot of fun.
Great food, service, and ambiance! We loved our dinner there! Everything was so good! We hope to be back soon!
Not the best dining experience. There were several small issues and one big one. The big one was that one of us ordered a quail main that arrived under cooked. The surface was cooked but the inside was literally raw. No one does "rare" with poultry. They took it back, we had to start eating the other dishes so that they wouldn't turn cold, and then the quail finally returned but now over cooked and tasteless. If you're a foodie hoping for a unique dining experience, this was a huge disappointment. Smaller issues were that service was slowly (took half an hour between the bill arriving and our paying it), and they messed up one of our side orders as well, giving us fries but charging us for a salad.
Everything was outstanding,
Loud disco music outside. Had to ask them to turn it down at least 3 times.
Most of the food was great. The Moroccan wings sound more interesting than they are. The only issue was that we chose outdoor dining as we are still a bit hesitant to eat indoors and the traffic noise is significant.
I hadn’t been to Bisq in a couple of years. Sadly, I thought the quality of our food had declined since our prior visits. Steak was on the rubbery side, quail was dry. Wine was fabulous and service friendly. Wasn’t a bad experience at all, just not a fabulous one as it had been on prior visits. Wouldn’t chose to go back because there are so many great food choices around but wouldn’t mind going back either if someone else wanted to. All in all, good but no longer great.
Great time at Bisq last night. We loved the atmosphere and the drinks! Our bartender Fab was excellent and we loved their Amaro selection! We weren’t overwhelmed by the food but perhaps we didn’t order the right dishes. I would skip the expensive dishes and go with the burger and drinks next time!
Really enjoyed the quiet outdoor dining. The staff were attentive and made a wonderful recommendation for a drink pairing with our dessert. The food itself was wonderful!
Absolutely awesome. I am so thrilled that the bar is back open for seating! Exceptional team and great food and drinks. We will be back often!
Good was not good- we use to enjoy this restaurant.
As always, the food was delicious where the preparation was more traditional or inventive. Beautiful inside but outdoor space delightful as well. Will keep coming back!
Our dinner at BISq was a big disappointment, The bartender seemed new and unexperienced. The manager wasn't all that nice. My meal went south when I asked to not have the broccoli. Eventually asparagus was substituted but was super overcooked. The wine selection was poor.
We won't be going back there.
Tiny portions of simple overpriced food. We ended up going to a local pub to get better fair much cheaper. Although the host was very enthusiastic, the wine and beer list was very unusual. The wine list was missing most common varietals and overpriced average beers were served in tiny pretentious glasses.
Amazing food. Incredible people. Operations were so smooth but never interfered with the overall ambiance even with covid restrictions still in place the weekend before Memorial Day. Definitely going to be a regular spot for us! Great to see the neighborhood so lively again!
Always an uplifting and enjoyable experience (and safe!) with amazing cocktails. We dine here regularly, eating indoors even pre-vaccination due to very good layout of tables and staff attention to masks and other protocols. The cocktails never disappoint, and the food is inventive and diverse for all appetites and styles with a combination of small plates and entrees. I had quail and my friends had burgers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The ambience is lovely. Indoor and outdoor dining available. Did I mention the cocktails?
After dining at Bisq for years (and loving it) pre COVID I made this my second venture out to a restaurant after 15 months. From the start it felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. It took 20 minutes to get a drink, the bar staff was not willing to accommodate any deviations from the 5 drinks on the menu, the food took more than 45 minutes and was not only uninspired but cold. (literally COLD). Not a single person stopped by to see how we were doing, our glasses remained empty for much of the 90 minutes... not a good thing to be had. Bad service, bad bar service, bad food. Huge disappointment. I actually emailed the manager asking why the huge shift but he never bothered to answer. Skip it - plenty of places in Boston that need our support and want to stay in business.
Three of us were quite happy with our entrees neutral the forth person found hers inedible.
