You'd think that a French owned restaurant could have the quality of a restaurant in France, but Bisou falls very short. We were there Sunday 10 December for Brunch at 12:30.

Brace yourself, if you wanted any pleasant meal conversation, forget it. There was a DJ blasting music (selection was not bad but ear plugs should have been distributed). DJ @ Brunch; really? When we mentioned it to the waiter, his response was "Get used to it!"... Lovely! Observing other patrons, most were looking like "WTF". Very few, 2, seemed to enjoy the blast. When the owner passed he said "C'est Genial!" ("That's awesome"), so we didn't bother making the point and giving him the opportunity to tell us we're wrong.

Food was also very poor. The Croque Monsieur was a blob of soggy bread. The bread must have been drowned in béchamel sauce. The sautéed potatoes were cold and overcooked while at the same time the onions in the potatoes were almost raw. The Crêpe Complète was a joke.

It seems a pattern in the Castro. Start a nice restaurant, like Bisou or Catch, get popular and then cheapen it up and squeeze every centime (penny) out of the stupid clients.

Do yourself a favor, skip it!!!

The perfect neighborhood French bistro! Charming in every way, with outstanding traditional dishes from the South of France. Bonus: you can hear the folks at your table!

One of our favorite spots for great cocktails, great wine, lush food, and romantic conversation. Fantastic service. Food is rich and sumptuous. Intimate tables.

Really good food and a fun brunch scene. Warning, it can get crazy loud, to the point where you are yelling at people seated across from you. This is especially true if seated upstairs. Overall, the food is innovative and reasonably priced. It is very popular on weekends for the mimosa brunch so reservations are highly recommended. Come earlier than 11:30 to avoid the crowds and high noise level.

Absolutely superb. One of the most authentic French bistros in San Francisco. Had my wedding dinner here. Perfection: warm, inviting, great food, fun, and cozy! Phil

The food and wine at Bisou are very good and served in a friendly ambiance. Chef/Owner Nick Ronan makes everyone feel welcome and provides a welcoming chat when you first arrive. We're only in San Francisco once a year but we always make a point of dining at least once at Bisou.

The Bone Marrow was absolutely delIcious as was the foie gras and pappardelle. Met a regular diner named Betty who made our evening much more enjoyable. And the owner is an amazing host who made us feel like a regular. For sure coming back again

Fun friendly French restaurant with great food. It is quite the scene on the weekends with $15 bottomless mimosas! I would recommend getting a reservation if it is on the weekend around brunch time.

Ordered the steak and frites to share. Steak so tough we couldn't cut it in half to share. Waiter had to take into the kitchen and cut. Bad steak knives? No tough steak.
Good fries though.

Nice food but man it was loud! and this was brunch and 10.30am on a Sunday. Fine if it was a Saturday night but this was just a chilled brunch with friends and some of us were recovering from the night before. Would not recommend for brunch.

We arrived on time for our reservation for 7 and the restaurant thought we were a party of 5 and weren't prepared. We waited 45 minutes for our table which was two card tables pushed together against the office door next to the bathroom upstairs. They apparently ran out of orange juice and cranberry juice because they started dropping off small bottles (like you buy at Walgreens) on the table. Total amateur hour. The manager was apologetic but didn't follow through with promises. The server was very sweet. The upstairs bathroom was a disaster. Dirty, rolls of toilet paper thrown everywhere. Towel machine empty, stalls didn't lock, toilet seat wouldn't stay up, smelled awful. And the downstairs bathroom was even worse. It just seems like nobody takes any pride in this restaurant. Sad to see it decline so much. It used to be a great experience.

The former chef and owner of Chou-Chou opened this restaurant and dining there is a pleasure.
The food is superb, the staff is excellent, and the people and surrounding conversations interesting. Love introducing people to this gem of a restaurant in the Castro.

I and my female friend did NOT come to your restaurant so that she could be groped by your hideously overweight server. I was disgusted and she was so uncomfortable that she didn't even want to finish her dinner. He had no right to touch her, squeeze her, or hug her. She didn't know him and neither did I. He sexually harrassed my friend while basically ignoring me, going so far as to give her a free drink after our meal (which, thankfully, she didn't touch. God knows what might have been in it). Your server was repulsive, and I will not be dining in your establishment again.

Learn to respect people's boundaries, you mysoginistic pig.
