We had a wonderful meal at bison. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and personal. The waiter brought three bottles of wine to taste, they gave us after dinner drinks, and the owner Nick could not have been warmer and more friendly.
The AC was all the way up and was very cold on the upstairs area.
There was only one bathroom available. The wait was insane to use the one downstairs.
Other than that, this place is fun.
Great drag brunch, great food, fast service, attentive staff, and a very fun atmosphere. Highly recommended and we will return often
Too loud for brunch. Server had a bad attitude. When we tried to talk about a mixup on the order (partly due to the noise level, partly due to couldn’t care less attitude of server) all we get (literally) was “Whatever”.
Food was OK but not commensurate with the pricing.
Would not go back.
Great fun spot for brunch. Make a reservation, this place get's packed. The food is really different and creative. It is my go to brunch spot with friends!
To first start off, it was thursday night and pretty slow. I booked my reservation through the open table app. My boyfriend and I walked in to be greeted by no one for a couple of minutes. The bartender who saw us just kept glancing over and then returning to what he was doing. When someone finally came to seat us, we told her we had a reservation and she's like "okay" and continued to seat us without any further questions. Because it was slow, she didn't care for the reservation, but i wanted my points! Our waitress was really nice and she constantly checked up on us during our meal. Another lady working that night, I believe she was bussing tables, was extremely rude and unhappy to be working. Anytime you'd try to say something to her, she just had a smug look and wouldn't respond.
On to the food, my boyfriend ordered the foie and duck confit. He said the foie was really good and was paired well with its side dishes. The duck confit was so dry, which is incredibly disappointing because it's literally submerged in its own fat? He wasn't happy with dinner that night whatsoever. I did the prefix 3 course meal. I ordered the salmon tartar, which was very good. Also had the pappardelle, which the flavors were decent but tasted like it had way to much lemon just squeezed on top of my noodles. They were also all stuck together which made it impossible for me to eat my noodles without have to cut them with a knife. Trust me, I was not going to sit there and eat my noodles with a knife and fork. We didn't finish our meals. For dessert, I chose the panna cotta thinking "this can't be screwed up!" yeah, no. It had that thick film on top of the dessert that you can only get by leaving it in the fridge for too long.
Overall, all of our food was not even close to decent for an inexpensive french restaurant. We believe the food has been left out for way too long before serving, explaining why the confit was dry and the noodles were stuck together, we won't be returning.
Such a disappointment. Came here for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Service was sketchy. Food was just alright. Way way too noisy—felt like we were yelling at each other. Wouldn’t recommend unless you simply have a drink at the bar and then have dinner across the street at Catch.
Generally very good food. Service was pretty French. Pretty efficient if not friendly. We didn't expect it to be prefix, but it was Valentine's Day and the menu was semi French. More Italian, French and California fusion.
They were incredibly friendly and accommodating and this was on Valentijn’s day while super busy, kindness is key and they were big time!!!
It’s a bistrot.
Excellent food.
Super fun drag brunches on Sunday! Come early and get a seat that's closer to the stairs so you get to see all the action.
I was told that this is the place to try Steak Tartare because it's done well and so I tried it and wasn't disappointed. It was delicious!
The four of us were seated up the stairs on the second tier by the host. The floors and walls were dirty, and the ledges dusty. it looked like they had forgot to clean up there. Also the ceiling level is quite low and the music speakers are right over your head so the blasting music makes it almost impossible to talk to each other. The best food that was ordered was the hamburger. 3 of us ordered the ham crepe which was overcooked and rather tasteless. Our waitress was pleasant and the service was timely, even though the place was busy. Will not return.
Food was good, but several items were more on the bill than they were listed at on the menu. From a bottle of wine to the sides. I am not the type to bring this up when the check comes, and I would have paid the full amount anyway, but it was a little unsettling.
I love it it here. Everything we ate was spectacular.
My first visit to Bisou, had the perfect table located end of bar, thus our waiter was Gabriel the bartender. He could not have been more welcoming, friendly, efficient and pleasant .....making our dinner an enjoyable evening. I have shared my experience with friends and will definitely make a return visit.
Jenna is just great and Anatolly is always welcoming.
It's a fun place to go for brunch. The food is very different but there is something for everyone! Super lively atmosphere as most people are doing the bottomless mimosa's and there's loud club music playing. It's actually one of our favorite places for brunch even though we do not day drink.
Authentic French Bistro. Does not have to be so noisy, but that's the way it is. The service is friendly a bit casual. Great bar service. For a French restaurant the servers lack a certain spark.
The kitchen is amazing. The Foie Gras is a main draw. The Pre Fixe of Foie Gras was a marvel.
A must restaurant to return and return.
Terrible service starting from the host at the door
We love the bottomless mimosas!
Poor sevice ! And very bed reception ! We where three people at the door with a reservation, we came on time , no one came to help us seating till after 20 minutes ! Will never comeback and the waitress argues with us, instead to apologize
Oh boy,
I know New Years Eve is tricky to find a fun, happy meal in a celebratory mood, and we didn’t have that at all.
We had a rez. And waited over an hour to be seated. The staff seemed dazed and confused, and completely random. We just laughed that it was so bad it was funny.
Food was ok, but poorly presented. Tables looked sad and forgotten. I don’t think they know what they are doing in the front of the house, kitchen is trying to do a good job.
I can always count on Bisou for a great meal, whether it's their burger and fries to any dish with foie gras. The escargots were a nice surprise, well seasoned and tender.
Always amazing food and ambiance. Staff is wonderful and attentive.
We made a reservation and once we got there there was no table. Too noisy. Service wasn’t good and the place is a bit too small for the number of people. The only thing good was the food. Also expensive. And they were not serving normal menu desert.
I took my kids there for a Christmas dinner and the food was excellent. We had a great time.
I like the food but it was way too overpriced for Christmas Eve, they squeeze in too many people upstairs and it is too hot and you end up sweating the entire meal. We usually go with one or two other couples. This was my third or fourth time there, but due to the overpriced menu, we won’t be back. We could have gotten just as good of a meal at Mystique, in the Castro, for half the price.
Bland food & dirty restroom.
Never disappointed...Always great! Food is delicious and owners are awesome!
Amazing Sunday brunch with Drag show. Mimosas, music & great service. WILL return (again & again) #💙
Bisou is a good place in San Francisco - i recomand it to friends
Great service and the duck confit Benedict was outstanding
Nice French food for reasonable prices in the Castro. Excellent service. A solid, dependable choice.
You'd think that a French owned restaurant could have the quality of a restaurant in France, but Bisou falls very short. We were there Sunday 10 December for Brunch at 12:30.
Brace yourself, if you wanted any pleasant meal conversation, forget it. There was a DJ blasting music (selection was not bad but ear plugs should have been distributed). DJ @ Brunch; really? When we mentioned it to the waiter, his response was "Get used to it!"... Lovely! Observing other patrons, most were looking like "WTF". Very few, 2, seemed to enjoy the blast. When the owner passed he said "C'est Genial!" ("That's awesome"), so we didn't bother making the point and giving him the opportunity to tell us we're wrong.
Food was also very poor. The Croque Monsieur was a blob of soggy bread. The bread must have been drowned in béchamel sauce. The sautéed potatoes were cold and overcooked while at the same time the onions in the potatoes were almost raw. The Crêpe Complète was a joke.
It seems a pattern in the Castro. Start a nice restaurant, like Bisou or Catch, get popular and then cheapen it up and squeeze every centime (penny) out of the stupid clients.
Do yourself a favor, skip it!!!
Bisou is a great place to dine. Excellent French cuisine, friendly staff and good service. An excellent choice in the Castro.
The perfect neighborhood French bistro! Charming in every way, with outstanding traditional dishes from the South of France. Bonus: you can hear the folks at your table!
One of our favorite spots for great cocktails, great wine, lush food, and romantic conversation. Fantastic service. Food is rich and sumptuous. Intimate tables.
Too loud. Decent service. Above average food.
