As much as I wanted to love this place, this was a very fair/mediocre experience. Not only was our food brought very late (salads brought after the meal), but we were surprised with how bland and disappointing the food was. I am all about simple done well, but my date and I agreed the food didn't have much flavor and was certainly not worth what we paid for it. Granted it was a Saturday night and they were busy, but our whole experience was entirely underwhelming. I know this place is new and it's my sincere hope service and the quality of food improves as the restaurant becomes a little more seasoned (pun intended).

The shrimp creole was exceptional and the music along with the wait staff was terrific. Thank you for a delicious evening!

Unfortunately the restaurant had run out of all fish dishes when we went there last week. As we don't eat meat, the chef said he would make a 'mushroom stroganoff', which I have always believed to be a rice based dish. What arrived eventually was a plate with a couple of mushrooms and lots of pasta with a weak tomato sauce. To be fair, when we said we couldn't eat the dish, we weren't charged, but it would be hard to recommend this place on the basis of our experience.

My friends and I were regulars when it was the Canal House Cafe before it became the Bisou Bistro at .., We wanted to see if it was just as good as before. Well it wasn't, the food is way over priced, my dish was pretty much 2 cans of corn, a half a cup of rice and a few pieces of shrimp with some spices. Everyone else's food came out warm or cold, they had 1 waiter for entire place at least 10+ people when we went. The co-owner was more worried about keeping a fire than providing any assistance to the other staff. Our free desserts we got as we were walking out.. were just boxed muffins (saying they were home made) tasted like baking soda. It was just an overall bad experience, probably the worst I've ever had in my life at any food place. In theory you could say, McDonald's provides better service, and better food than the Bisou Bistro can as of current.
