In 1993 Karin Tucker and Barbara Bredehoeft opened Biscottis as a cozy 37 seat coffee house. It quickly became a landmark success and now seats 100 in a beautiful turn of the century brick and wood interior building. Offering casual comfort, innovative cuisine (try the fabulous Sunday brunch), and with a personality all its own, the Avondale eatery has expanded to accommodate its citywide clientele.

Biscottis Ratings and Reviews
Love Biscottis. Great for a pick me up cheese and charcuterie plate after strolling around or a delicious lunch. Even if you are full, grab an amazing dessert from the case to enjoy at home later. Love the salmon blt, shrimp salad and of course, the biscotti are delish.
Waitstaff is friendly and helpful. It is a great place to take out of town friends - there is something for everyone.
Overall, still a decent restaurant, but not the community gem it used to be. The menu has become stale -- even nightly specials rarely change much -- and it seems to cater more to "regulars" than real foodies. Lots of potential in a prime location, but the owners and kitchen need to commit to a revamp of the old menu -- they could keep some of the tried and true dishes, but offering new or seasonal choices would keep patrons from getting bored.
Although the food and dessert was wonderful, I must say that the service was quite lacking. Our waitress only came over to refill our drinks once in over an hour of us being there. Also it took almost a 1/2 hour to get coffee.
We went for my husband's birthday and our bill w/appetizer, entree's, drinks, & dessert was well over $100, but yet we did not get my husband's birthday dessert for free or a discounted price. I definitely do not expect something for nothing and whenever we have gone in the past we have always tipped well above the expected 15%. I have to say that it may be a while before I go back, if I ever do.
Awesome selections for lunch! Salads were filled with flavor & dressing on the side with options!
Server was attentive & patient ... made fabulous recommendations & toured the dessert case with us ... must’ve been over 15 choices for dessert.
The coconut cake was delicious!
Can’t wait to go back! Maybe for brunch next time!
Each of the four of us in our party had a very good meal. It was a little noisy with a lot of people there, but was quiet as customers thinned out. Nice variety on the menu, portions were plenty without being overboard, presentation was great, seemed freshly prepared and the fruits and vegetables were nice and fresh. We finished with GIANT slices of cake which were fabulous.
The food was excellent as always, and I can't review without raving about the fantastic selection of "in-house" made desserts. This place never disappoints.
And for those that need GF, the in house made GF pizza crust and locally made GF bread for sandwiches or side roll are delicious and will make you confirm they are GF.
The chairs aren't the most comfortable, and I find being uncomfortable detracts from an amazing meal. That is the only reason I lowered the rating. The food is exceptional and the bread pudding is literally the best dessert I've ever had. I've been three times and always leave happy.
Biscotti's is such a wonderful experience. We were visiting Jacksonville and looked on Opentable to choose a restaurant. Fortunately, as luck would have it, we chose Biscotti's. Since Jacksonville is spread out, we didn't realize that this place was 20 minutes from our hotel and on the other side of town. Not knowing whether or not, this would be a good thing, we just went and WOW were we suprised. First of all, it is located on a really cool section of town on a quaint and charming street with outdoor cafes and to what appeared to be high end shops, real estate offices. There was no sign of any chain restaurants, Starbucks or Gap stores. This town had history and the brick facade of Biscotti's fit right in.
The menu was diversified and on a Saturday night this restaurant was filled. As soon as you walk in the door, there's a dessert refrigerator that exudes calories and these beautiful, cakes and pies displayed as if you just want to reserve your piece of cake now, even before you tell the hostess that you have arrived for our 800pm reservation.
We had a great table in the bar area, but all tables seem to be great. And if it wasn't so warm outside we would have sat there on the sidewalk, very much like being in Paris at a sidewalk cafe.
We started off with the charcuterie for the table and it was delicious. I had the Hawaiian Pink Sea Salt-Grilled Halibut that was perfectly cooked. We shared the gluten free chocolate cake option that was so big, that our guests took it home.
When I come back to Jacksonville, this would be the only restaurant that I would go to. It was that good.
