Birroteca - Bel Air
Great place to have a dinner in the bar area with happy hour options, great pizza and a great beer and wine list.
The food and service were both very good. We were surprised by the menu as there were far fewer choices available than were shown on line earlier in the week. Everything that was ordered was outstanding, but the options available on the menu were limited.
Staff/Server was very attentive. Food was great, except for the calamari. We've ordered it here twice and each time it was a bit rubbery and fishy. Otherwise, I would recommend everything else. Cocktails were great as well.
Pappardelle was delicious and so was the chicken wrapped I prosciutto. I was scared to try a Hugh end Italian restaurant with 10 baseball families but the food was delicious. Also the crispy cauliflower was to die for.
It was good, it just didn’t blow me away.
Great apps and pizzas. Consistently good. Definitely recommend this place.
Had a great time. Interesting menu, innovative/delicious food, pleasant staff, and priced reasonably.
Always great food! Creative menu,
Brought family including one from out of country. Waiter forgot to get our dinner and drink order, super weird. Then our bread order went to the wrong table, and took a long time to get. We had $50 worth of charcuterie and had asked up front for an extra bread order and reminded the waiter several times. He was very very forgetful, how can you forget to take dinner and drink orders? We love Birrateca and this was the first disappointment, unfortunately it happened while introducing the place to our family and out of country family.
Stellar Service (Dave) & a welcoming staff/atmosphere. Very good food.
Great for a vegan- shared the beet salad, Brussels sprouts, and mushroom pizza. All delicious. Service was good. Kinda wish they were a little more creative with their vodka cocktails though :) great value.
My family and I had a wonderful brunch experience this weekend. The food was delicious and the mimosas were on point. Thank you for a wonderful time!
I have selected "birthday" as the special occasion when I made the reservation through OpenTable. No one asked or acknowledge it was a special celebration when we checked in to the restaurant. It was disappointing.
Food was excellent, our server was aloft, disinterested, careless an extremely distracted! The restaurant/bar was dead and she still couldn’t keep up! My date had to go up to the bartender because his drink was incorrect and our waitress was nowhere to be found! This was on a Saturday night between 8-9pm. The manager was kind but a little clueless.
We always love this place but dinner tonight was FANTASTIC!! Bottomless pasta is a great idea! We really enjoyed being able to try different dishes and leave full. Our server was wonderful, very helpful and friendly but not constantly at our table and having really long conversations with us. Would highly recommend trying out the Wednesday wine and food specials.
Great food and outstanding service!
Excellent! Loved it and great wait person. Loved my meal but also thought the pizza with fig on it was wonderful.
Had a great time at Birroteca for my birthday. We brought the family of all ages and the staff was very accommodating with our large party, guiding us through the menu and making recommendations. The food was served in a timely fashion and was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed. Would highly recommend!
This was our first time trying Birroteca for brunch. We love the place for dinner and lunch but would not return in the future for brunch. Not a ton of options food wise. The drink specials are great though. Very hard to find the brunch items on the menu compared to the regular menu. There really wasn't any clarification. The food itself wasn't anything to rave about either. I got the Italian hash. Asked for over easy eggs, they were over cooked. Really wasn't anything special. Just potatoes and some over done eggs.
I am very disappointment. The service was slow. The food was cold and we couldn't eat together because things came out one at time. Our server messed up our bill multiple times and over charged my friend.
We will never be back to Birroteca. We had issues from the start. Asked for a kids menu but didn’t get one until it was time to order. Server made a comment to the neighboring table eluding to us being a nuisance and the reason for his delays and forgetfulness with them. Half of our appetizers were forgotten. One main dish did not come out as it should, even after 2 attempts. Paying our bill was excruciating. The server never gave any indication that they don’t split checks when we identified separate parties at the beginning (we were trying to make it easier for him by identifying up front who was separate). When we tried to pay, the checks were messed up beyond belief. We tried 2 more times to get them right, but to no avail. The server than laughed at me and said “this is why we don’t split checks”. Except he never mentioned they don’t split checks. If we’d know that from the start we could have figured it out. Service was slow and poor and food was underwhelming when it even came out right. This was our third visit (the other two were mediocre) and we are done.
We love the Birroteca location in Baltimore, but were disappointed with the pizzas at the Bel Air location. The crusts were much thicker and the flavors were now what we'd come to expect from the other location. Service and ambiance were both good, as was the calamari appetizer. The pizzas were the only let down.
I recommend Birroteca to all my friends and family:) The food is always outstanding. The duck duck goose pizza is out of this world, all the flavors work together so well it's just magic! The cocktails are wonderful as well. Love all the seasonal old fashions!
I will start by saying I normally LOVE brunch here, I didn’t realize Easter brunch was a buffet and I was disappointed. The dessert options were delicious! But the rest of the food wasn’t up to par with what i usually expect when eating here. Service was great as usual and atmosphere was good. I’ll definitely be back for regular brunch...just not for the buffet events.
We went there specifically for their GF pizza, knowing they are known for their GF options. They had no GF pizza. I reluctantly ordered a GF pasta dish and didn't get what I ordered. Another time previously we thought we'd drop in for a quick bite and we were told they were closing early, and we said, but it says you're open for another hour. They said they were sorry, but it wasn't worth staying open. I love the location in Hampden. For the price of the food, I'd have expected nicer service.
Excellent service, great food. Our go to restaurant.
The food was very tasty, drinks were perfect. The wait staff was friendly and took very good care of our table.
Small portions and very high prices
Excellent beer choices
We got a bunch of apps/sides and shared
We frequent Birro and always love our experience, however the last two times have not been as desirable. I will say that this last visit was a bit unfortunate for us. Our server was unknowledgeable regarding wines as well as the menu. Our appetizer was forgotten and never rung in. When we did get our app after asking someone else it was the Brussels and sopping in grease with every bite . We were never asked about our entrees so we just moved past the fact that our fish was way overcooked and flavorless. Our pasta we shared was amazing though! We were also not offered dessert, but I think we were just done with the only 90 minutes we got for a date night anyway. If we go back we will request the bar. We never seem to have issues there.
Great bday outing! thank you!
We had a double date on Saturday night and chose to sit at a high-top table in the bar. It was a lively atmosphere but we were able to hold a good conversation at the table. The appetizers were delicious and the entrees were generous. The beer selection was impressive; however, the only draw back was that our waitress was slow to come around and check to see if anything else was needed.
We don't get here often enough. Great food, great cocktails. Highly recommend.
Food was very good, service was a little slow and the restaurant was not busy.
Thank you for visiting us! We hope to see you soon.
Had a great meal...our first time there...will definitely return
Thank you for visiting us. We appreciate your business.
Food as always was excellent. Service only so so. Waiter left my menu and didn’t pick it up until my husband prompted him at desert. Also water ran low, had to ask for silverware after appetizer plate was taken. Things you don’t expect to do at a restaurant of that quality. Even so, we will defiantly return for the food is wonderful.
Thank you for visiting us! I will be sharing your comments with our staff.
Birroteca in Bel Air is one of our favorite places. The drinks are creative and delicious and we have never had a bad meal. Try the Brussel sprouts. They are yummy!
Food was good, appetizer portions were shockingly small. Not really for sharing apparently.
Birroteca was very busy, I am glad that we made a reservation. Service started off a little slow, but quickly changed and was very attentive. The food was excellent! I will be back again soon!
Very disappointing meal. Our service was below average. We had two assigned servers, but did not see much of either one. My water ran out, and my tea was only refilled once before dinner got there. Never got another refill, and our server did not come around again. The service was slow. I hope it was because it was a busy Saturday night. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. It tasted under seasoned. We had to take dessert to go because it took so long to come out. Will probably not be back again.
