Excellent, tasty food dishes - many of them creative. Brussel sprouts w/Copa make an excellent appetizer
Birthday dinner... cheese and meat tray was delicious . Pasta dishes were well seasoned and pasta was very good.
Wine and drink choices were very good. Awesome selection of beers. My disappointment was ran out of two desserts, especially for the birthday girl. Otherwise very pleasant dining experience
Went here with my family after our 1 yo son’s baptism. Excellent food, great space, great service. Might be my new favorite pizza in town!
We were a group of 5. Fun atmosphere. Outstanding food! Service was great.
The food was terrible and the service was even worse. My meal had no taste, undercooked clams and was expensive. I’m not much of a cook but could have definitely done better than that. The service was non existent. We couldn’t order for the longest time and then we couldn’t get the check. It took forever which was probably compounded by being hungry and not wanting to eat what they were serving. Awful experience
First time eating here and had a wonderful waitress, Lindsay! She gave great advice and extremely helpful. Food was excellent and fun to be outside with perfect coverage of sun.
We had a great dinner with friends for our first time at Birroteca. They are long-time customers, and had many recommendations. We started with a charcuterie board and some cocktails, both which were exactly what we needed while catching up with each other. For the meal, the White Locavore pizza was a great veggie friendly option and delicious! My partner got the pasta special that evening, which was some sort of duck fat with linguine. He was a bit disappointed only because the description in the menu compared to what was received seemed to be off. He enjoyed it, but had hoped it would have included more to the dish rather than just noodles sauteed in duck fat.
We were seated immediately, and all staff we interacted with was great. We truly enjoyed our time there and will be returning to try a few other dishes that caught our eye!
Everything was great except for the hostess. We asked not to sit by the entrance (given that there were other tables available) but she refused.
Poor service. Cold food
A group of 8 celebrated my birthday outside on their deck this past weekend in the beautiful weather. We had a great time and the drinks were flowing because the kitchen was slower then usual because of how crowded the restaurant was. The food was still awesome and we had a great time. I can’t recommend the the cauliflower and Brussels sprouts appetizers enough. They will blow your mind away.
Nothing special. Good food. Good value for the price paid.
The noise level was intolerable. This is the first time we dined upstairs. There were large parties and absolutely no noise insulation. We had to scream to hear our friends across the table. "energetic" is an understatement!
The food and service were very good. The lamb chops over risotto were delicious. The cauliflower was very tasty but too greasy. I ordered a cocktail which was excellent but felt like a tease since the glass was packed full of ice. I doubt there was more than an ounce of liquid total.
I would still recommend Birotecca because we have had such good meals and service on many occasions but I would request to eat downstairs and never order a cocktail again. $12 is awfully pricey for a flavored glass of ice.
Our waiter was the best .. went for a birthday and we have the best time.. great food and beer. The staff is the highlight. They work as a team and the places runs like clockwork. Best meal and services I’ve had anywhere in years
Love the chick peas, bruschetta, and pizza!
The beer was very good although some of it was a bit pricey. I thought that the food was just mediocre. The chopped salad had a hodge podge of ingredients and the dressing was not good. We had the duck pizza which we were told was a house specialty but I didn't care for it. It was very sweet. Perhaps I would have liked another pizza better. The music was horrible and got irritating after a while. The waiter was very friendly but not very attentive.
Good food and beer! Not really worth the price though.. and the waiter didn’t check on us much.
The guys at the bar were incredible! And the cheese and meat trays were fantastic!
Fun atmosphere, mediocre food, good service...
As always the food is phenomenal and service was great. In addition to going for regular dinners I’ve been going almost every year for my birthday for the last 5 years. Never disappointed (except I was hoping for the Boudino for dessert-that means I have to go back another time!)
First time there, good food.
The Brussel sprouts were outstanding ...
Our server was the reason for 5 stars. He was amazing. Will definitely return. Food is consistent and delicious.
It was a quiet night so perhaps that's why we had good service, but everything was fine. The pizzas are expensive but great to have gluten free options, and the GF pizza is above average.
First time and most likely the last. The restaurant was empty and our service was slow. The waiter forgot my husbands salad, lipstick on a water glass, sauce on the bottom of a water bottle, cold coffee and pizza that was burned on the bottom.
Friday night dinning. 7:15 PM Reservation through Opentable - seated immediately upon arrival. Food and service was excellent. The place was cozy but a little noisy. Overall - will come back again.
I really like Birroteca, it feels very cozy and the food is good. I am very impressed with their homemade pasta, and being Italian I know my pasta.
Our server was fantastic. Always love coming for a good new beer and delicious food!
There is a great selection of authentic Italian dishes. Everything we had was tasty and very well prepared. Note, the appetizer portions are generous. The wine list is small, but has sufficient variety and is relatively affordable. This is now one of my two favorite Italian restaurants in Baltimore.
I've had a love/hate relationship here so far. After going 3 times, just 1 of the times has been stellar. The others have been mediocre.
I think it comes down to seating and service in the end. The food is consistently good, the boar papardelle is one of the best pasta dishes around, and the burata is amazing.
Having sat in the lower level before, at the high tops near the bar, I can say that is the only way I have truly enjoyed it. Upstairs feels like a complete afterthought. It was bright white, light, and noisy. Sound traveled and service felt disconnected. Service on the lower level was more personal, and we had a waiter who truly knew his stuff - upstairs, again, felt like an afterthought and more like a chain restaurant you might encounter in a strip mall. Not sure if it was the lighting or the others there, but it had no where near the ambiance as the bar area.
The fact that there are pencils on the table upstairs also leads me to believe it's where they put families with kids. I know kids have to eat out, but it just felt very disconnected from below in approach and atmosphere.
Again, food is good. But, if you want to really enjoy it all, aim for the bar or high tops.
Love Birroteca! Great beer selection and wonderful pizzas! Their chopped salad is excellent! I highly recommend it!
The quality of food has gone down. Pizza was undercooked. Waiter was inattentive and didn't seem to care. Will not return.
This was a pleasant surprise. Large parking which was good but scary outside. I was about to turn around and go somewhere else. So glad I did not. The place was beautiful inside. The tables were setup elegantly. The food was soooooo good. The meatball were succulent. I can not say enough. The server was on point with all suggestion. Wish I got her name to praise her service! Very attentive to our table and it was a full restaurant. The after five drinks were delicious. Get the fig and thyme cocktail. You will love it.
Love this restaurant. It’s was a very cold night. Our pasta was cold and our table was next to the front door so every time the door opened we got a blast of cold air. Other than that it was great.
The food was decent, and the prices fair. I ordered the Pappardelle with Boar Ragu, and my friend ordered the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage. We shared the Bruschetta w/ Shrimp & Kale, along with a bottle of Tuscan red wine. I was impressed by the Italian Kit Kat dessert; it was a creative interpretation of a childhood favorite. We also ordered the Cinnamon Cannoli. The filling had a nice hint of cinnamon, but was incredibly runny, and just looked kind of sloppy. I looked around and noticed that many other patrons ordered the Limoncello Creme Brule ... I'm thinking I should have ordered that. Overall, it was a nice experience, but we could barely hear each other over the noise. I went with a good girlfriend of mine, but it's not some place I would take a first date if you want to enjoy conversation and get to know someone.
Lovely restaurant with delicious food and great open brick decoration! Rustic but also chic. Quick service, wonderful waiter. The bill did rack up w/ wine, appetizers, etc., but wasn't completely unreasonable
This was a great restaurant. Loved the beer selection and the increadible pizzas! We also had a wonderful server!
Great food and service. Kids meal (pizza) is perfect - a generous size cheese pizza even comes with fresh apple slices and grilled Brussels sprouts!
Fantastic food, amazing drinks, and the service was outstanding!!
Had the gnocchi and it was amazing. My wife had the butternut squash raviolis and she couldn’t stop talking about how good they were. Outstanding cocktails to go with dinner and a superb cheese and meat plate.
