It was a perfect meal before the theater. Online reservation worked great.
Excellent service from all employees. Our waiter, Felix, was great! Like the option of putting any leftovers in the kitchen and picking up after the theater.
I eat at Birraporetti"s before plays at the Alley Theater . Food is good and service usually very good. Last night however we had a waiter that must be relatively new. It wasn't a huge negative but the server brought my entree and salad at the same time. He needs to know that salad needs to come first so meal won't get cold.
Birraporetti’s is alway a treat! I was dining alone, and my server made me feel so welcome. I had the spinach fettuccine with mushrooms. It was the best fettuccine I have ever had… ever! The noodles were fresh and tender, and the sauce was smooth and flavorful. A great place to dine in the theater district either before or after any event.
All was great! Felix took good care of us.
Good location for lunch before the theater, symphony or opera, with convenient parking and OK ambiance. Unfortunately very old fashioned Italian food - could really benefit from a lighter and more true Italian upgrade.
Brunch buffet was very mediocre and a poor value at $37.00 per person. It was Mother’s Day and I felt a little like we got had with the jacked up pricing for a pizza and pasta buffet. Carving station was a very dry brisket and roast beef with no accompanying sauce or au jus.
I would not go back as the service was also non existent. We had to place our dirty plates on another table when we got our dessert.
Wonderful food! Great place for a date dinner after a Broadway play.
The service and food was excellent. Great preshow spot.
We went to Birraporetti’s for a pre show meal. The service Earl provided was professional and courteous. We let him know what time the show started and he got us out in plenty of time. The food was great. The music created a nice ambiance. We will definitely go back!
After the Opera. Out of Key Lime Pie at 6pm 😡
Service was good but s-l-o-w. Food was good but not great.
Slow, slow, slow.
I have tried Birraporetti's several times now and every time the food is meh. Nothing outstanding and the food tastes okay. I went with the curtain menu's spinach salad, ribeye steak and chocolate mousse. It was just all mundane. I don't know what they put in the mashed potatoes, but they tasted weird--almost fishy. The food gleamed a little, which made me weary of what they finished it off with--MSG, maybe. The mousse was extremely fluffy and bland. Our server, Danny, was prompt and friendly, but he's not in charge of the food. No more visits here.
My sister wanted me to tell you that she Loved her linguini with clams and I enjoyed my pork chops. Our server was very personable (I wish I could remember his name...choby?). Overall a good pre -theater experience.
Food was good. Nice place. Felt like it was a good value for what we paid. A bit slow service.
Helen was very attentive and patient when we couldn’t decide what to order. Came to our table several times to check to see if we needed anything. Food was excellent and perfectly portioned. We will definitely be returning for another pre-theater dinner.
It is easy to take reservations but another thing to honor the time. Way too many reservations were accepted for the amount of staff and seating and kitchen help. Were seated fourty minutes after the reservation time and had to hurry through dinner before the theater start. Average food at best and no mention of our daughter’s birthday which was made known on booking. Disappointed and will not return.
Perfect! I really enjoyed our evening there. The live jazz was also great!
Had a reservation but had to wait in line for 30 minutes . Finally seated David waited on us and he was incredible. We managed to have drinks dinner and make it to the theater on time
We had a group of 9 ladies for dinner at 5pm on a Wed, so not a busy time. The service was horrible and some of our ladies did not receive their meals. Two of them became ill after the meal. We will not return.
It took quite a while for the waitress to realize we were there. I had to ask someone bussing tables to bring us water.
Went to see the band that performed tonight and it was great.
Thank you for your 4 star review. We have Live music every Thursday Thru Monday. Monday is the biggest draw. Those bands are selected because they generally have their own following. You can check out the website event calendar at birraporettishouston or sign into our mailing list on the website and we will email you the weekly band line up.
Having had one bad experience among many pleasant experiences at this restaurant, I was pleased with the service, food, and ambiance at our last visit.
The service was a touch slow, but not bad. The food was excellent and the convenience of being right next to the theater was great.
Management very cognizant of its clientele. They encourage returning Opera/Theater goers by giving free parking passes for future visits.
The food and service was excellent. The location for the theater's, especially for HGO.
We enjoyed our meal at Birraporetti's. It was one of the best meals I ever had. The salmon special with crab meat and lemon butter sauce was out of this world! I will definitely go again! Just make sure you make reservations!
Lasagna used to be better. But the overall experience of going there before the symphony is still a winner.
The food was good & the restaurant is a pleasant place. We had lobster ravioli (tasty), pizza (marvelous), chicken picatta (good), & pork chops (excellent). The service was very slow & indifferent. It took us almost 15 minutes to find our waiter to get the check. That’s ridiculous. It’s also inexcusable as it was Friday night & the majority of diners were going on to nearby events. We were almost late to the Alley Theatre.
Delicious food and generous wine pours! If you are doing any of the downtown theaters or music, it can't be beat. The adjacent parking is easy and reasonable ($10 event price in a secured garage) with the restaurant right downstairs and venues within easy walks. The dark interior gives an elegant vibe. The food is always outstanding. Had a happy hour special of the bruschetta...wow delicious on garlic bread slices. A meal in itself. Everything I have seen and had is wonderful, but I'm a regular for the eggplant parmigiana. Love this place and it makes attending any event downtown very easy. And a great meal at surprisingly very reasonable prices.
A great pre-theater option. Food is consistently good and they work to get you out in time for the theater.
Where’s my points for dining? They haven’t posted and you said you confirmed my reservation
I have visited this Birraporetti's several times, and have always been very pleased with the service and
food, however service this time was totally unacceptable. After being lead to our table, wait staff came back and forth past and never asked if we had been waited on, after 10 minutes I went back up to the host desk and asked if anyone was working the area where they had sat us, they said yes and they would send someone over. Waiter came over took our drink order, after several minutes another waiter came over and asked for our drink order, we told him we had already given our order to another person, he said I'll take it, what do want to drink. This waiter(328 Donald) should not be in the service industry he was totally not interested in what he was doing.
Food was very disappointing and not a good value. Worst meatball sandwich I have ever had. The chicken la griglia not good. Asked for sauce since it was so dry and not tasty and was charged $2 for sauce even though told waiter why needed. Service was very mediocre.
I loved their brunch. A great variety of food. Everything was delicious. Love their crème brûlée.
Thank you Liliana for the wonderful brunch recommendation~
Excellent food and Service, quiet place in Downtown Houston.
Recommend for the food which was good as always. But, it was so cold in that place. They seemed to have cranked the AC up as if expecting a full crowd, but there weren't enough people for the cold. It was good to get outside when we finished so we could warm up.
Great food! Great service! Would recommend to friends and family. Thank you.
Truly delicious meal beautifully presented. The perfect place for a meal before the theater. Great live music too!
Thank you for your 5 star review. WE have live music on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the biggest bands play on Monday evenings where you can enjoy Happy Hour all day and night in the restaurant and the bar.
Great food and amazing service!
