Even though I had a reservation, we did not get a table. The host sarcastically offered us a large table with other people saying “at least you have a table.”
My friend and I decided to sit at a bar table fo which the service was questionable. My friend got up twice to get us service. The food was good, but I will not return.
Service was good, the food a good value and they serve you quickly so you can get to your show . I highly recommend this place.
Chose Birraporetti’s due to it being so close to Jones Hall for the concert we were attending and the food did not disappoint - a lovely delicious dinner. Would like to return for their Sunday Jazz Brunch.
This time I had the almond crusted chicken scaloppini and it was over-done. It was hard to chew and I just ate about half of it. My husband and I go to Birraporetti's 8 times a year and sometimes it's better than others. This time it was not good.
Our last visit was on a Saturday night so it was a little noisy; however, we have never been disappointed with the food or service. Finally tried one of the Brandy Alexanders for desert. WOW!
This was the second time my husband and I came to the restaurant before a Houston play. The food is fine but I ordered chicken picatta with asparagus and penne. My husband’s dinner arrived and I got chicken picatta with broccoli and mashed potato. I told the server who didn’t understand English so I found the manager who quickly passed me to the owner. The owner said she’d get the correct dinner as soon as possible. I said we have a show in 20 minutes and I’d like to eat at the same time as my husband. She gave me free bread! I think it is ridiculous that an Italian restaurant, or any restaurant of this caliber, charge for bread to begin with. We had wine and nothing was taken off the bill. We won’t be back. Serve cheap, you get cheap clients.
This is a great place to eat when going to the theater, ballet, symphony, or opera.
Our service was good, the food was tasty and the portion sizes were appropriate. I dislike huge portions - and then struggling to stay awake at the theatre after a big dinner.
Always a great pre-show venue!
On Symphony and Opera nights, we love to dine here. Great food and wine at reasonable prices.
Great food & service
Excellent friendly service. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Super convenient to theatre district and parking.
Nobody greeted us upon arrival, we had to look for someone to seat us. This was our first visit but the ambience of the restaurant was old and stale. The waiter did an ok job but was not very out going. We ordered a caprese salad as an appetizer. No good! The basil leaves were wilted. To of the tomato slices were the ends of the tomato. The mozzarella slices were room temperature instead of cool. My wife ordered lobster ravioli. The ravioli were cold and the lobster inside was like warm and tasted old. I ordered veal with lobster ravioli. It was just as bad. The ravioli were cold, the inside was like warm and the lobster tasted old. The veal was a great disappointment. It was cold, tasted old and was like you were eating an over cooked pork chop. Drinks were only refilled once the whole time. Very disappointed! For the price that is charged the quality and quantity of the food should be much better. I’m not sure that we will ever visitBirraporettis ever again
The restaurant was easy to find. Was very quiet when we arrived. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Food was very good and plentiful.
Great food, great service. We had a lovely time.
Always enjoy my evening out here. My favorite dish is grilled salmon served with a side you can choose. The cocktail list is interesting and wine selection is ok and reasonable. Be sure to save room for a dessert as the many excellent choices are good and enough to share!
Food was great. Atmosphere was fantastic.
The food was wonderful but the service was subpar. I have been before and the service was amazing before. Don’t know what happened.
Great time, nice and attentive service with really good pizza.
Food was great as usual. We always go to Birraporetti’s before going to the theater. It’s an institution!
The brunch is always great
We had Gabby as our server and she is fantastic
Jeffrey is the manager and he always does an outstanding job
We go every month because it is a great value and a wonderful way to spend a Sunday
Thank you for the 5 stars, we are tickled you enjoyed experience! I will pass your compliments to Gabby and Jeffrey
Supper before going to performance at Alley Theatre. Always a pleasurable evening and going to Birraporetti’s makes it all the more special. At great experience.
Thank you for the 5 stars, we are tickled you enjoyed experience!
The food was not as good as in previous visits. It is very convenient when attending a show at the Alley Theater.
Always delicious food after an afternoon at Alley Theater.
Great meal before going to the theater.
Delicious and enjoyable dinner before the Alleys performance!
Always enjoyable food and atmosphere - almost always attentive and pleasant service - every now and then the kitchen gets a bit behind or scrambled, but usually a solidly delightful meal.
Always a great place before or after the theatre! Wonderful service and good food at a reasonable price. Great atmosphere!
Our Server, Helen, started the evening out so perfectly as she was so very polite, and attentive without being “in our face”!
Food was great, and a perfect amount.
We were able to both enjoy our meal without feeling rushed, and still was at the theatre in plenty of time. AND Helen offered to keep our leftover ( of the spectaculars Cannoli!!) in the fridge to pick up after the show. It was an all around wonderful experience.
I had never eaten at Birraporetti's before. With the location of the restaurant being right next door to the Alley Theatre, it was a perfect match. The noise level in the restaurant was great!! It was pleasant and yet it was quiet enough that we could carry on a conversation. The waitress was bubbly and efficient. We will certainly be back.
Our favorite special occasion place before theatre. Never been disappointed in the food, drinks, or service.
Early dinner before theater. We ordered off the curtain call menu which is a prix fix menu they have available. We both had the Filet and it was cooked perfectly. We were seated right away. Reservations were not really necessary at the time we went. Service was always cheerful and prompt. All in all very pleased
Thank you for the 5 stars, we are tickled you enjoyed experience!
The service was very slow. I ordered the shrimp scampi which came out cold and the shrimp were undercooked. I would have sent it back but since it took so long to get our order i didn't want to miss the play. I wont be back.
Always a great place to have dinner and entertain customers or friends...
Great place to get together and enjoy a meal before or after attending a performance at the Alley Theatre!
good restaurant. short indoor walk to Alley Theater.
Still very close to Alley and the Wortham. I will go again.
A pleasant evening - theatre crowd was less than we've encountered in the past. Excellent service, food well prepared, convenient for pre-show dinner.
Love this place, as always enjoy the food and service, good location from Jesse Jones Hall.
Girls nite out. Had a wonderful time. Service was excellent.
