Birk's Ratings and Reviews
My friend and i love eating at Birk's but were disappointed to discover that Maurice was no longer the chef. It seems as though the executive salads are smaller. The bread basket, which used to include a small section of French bread and two breadsticks only contained one breadstick which we thought strange with two people eating together. The bread was served warm and was delicious, however. The service was excellent, as always. We will return.
Very noisy, steaks were just not good. My wife and I eat out a lot and we appreciate a good steak. I had the blackened rib eye and I honestly am not sure how to describe it bc it did not have a lot of flavor. My wife only ate half of her filet for the same reason. Our waiter tried very hard and was very nice. However, he was a bit overwhelmed bc of how busy they were.
We have been here before and like to come here when we come up to Levi Stadium. Each time is such a great experience. Our dinner last night was the seared sea bass and we got a side of Brussels sprouts. It was incredible. Each bite was a treat. Our hand crafted cocktails are delicious. We always sit up so we can watch the chefs prepare food. So we have a show along with our great dinner. Thank you again for a great night an dinner.
Close to Hyatt Regency Santa Clara which was convenient for where I was staying. Service was moderately slow even though restaurant was not busy. Had the small cut of prime rib which was not very tasty. Spinach salad was very good. Maybe it was an off night. Went on Saturday evening.
Once again Birks hit the spot. My wife and I have eaten at Birks many times over many years and have never been disappointed. My lamb was cooked perfectly and my wife who always waivers back and forth between medium and medium-rare on her steak was please that the chef managed to hit the sweet spot between the two on her rib eye. She enjoyed her cocktail and we finished it all off with a well prepared dessert. Effortless enjoyment.
Fried Calamari best I’ve ever had. Pasta Paella Is not paella but a regular seafood pasta dish in a cream sauce. The Paella came on a regular plate, not made and crusted in a Paella pan. Additionally, there was a large handful of very small, tasteless shrimp that was used as a filler for the seafood. Rest of dish was good. Excellent service so I will try the restaurant again.
The food was excellent. I had a filet mignon, which was tender and cooked perfectly. I didn't want the side dishes that came with the steak. I was able to change to other sides that were on the menu with no difficulty or extra charge. My husband had the ribeye and said it was excellent. The waiter was helpful and attentive without being overbearing. We were very pleased with the quality of the food, the presentation and the service.
A bit out of the way, in an office park which is a bit strange. However, nice ambiance and the service was great! Food was good, but at least my dish seemed a bit uninspired. I’ll quantify this by saying the quality of the food was outstanding, I had the peppered filet mignon in a peppercorn sauce. Melt in your mouth meat, but a bit seemed short on the flavor. I asked for some fresh horseradish which solved my issue. Cocktails were top notch as was the desert. The value was very good. Had a very nice bottle of Napa Zinfandel at a reasonable price.
The service was excellent and the food was really delicious. We had a wonderful evening celebrating a 20th anniversary. The sea bass was so incredible and filling! My husband had the seafood Cobb salad. He enjoyed every mouthful. The choice of desserts wss mouthwatering. We will definitely come again.
Having never been to Birk's before, I had no preconceived notions about this restaurant. I will say that I was pleased with the selection. The food was excellent and the service was great. We had a larger party and our server was very attentive to the group and made sure we were always taken care of.
I would recommend Birk's.
We enjoyed our meal and time at Birks. It was a crazy evening given that Birk's was slammed with patrons that evening as many booked for dinner prior to the Coldplay concert at the Levi Stadium (Birk's close to the Levi venue). If the place was not so crazy with patrons, my guess is that the food and service would be 5 star.
Birk's is better than any other restaurant within a radius that extends to Palo Alto northward and San Jose southward. I have taken many guests, board members, and colleagues from many countries there, and everyone is always satisfied. The steaks are excellent, prime rib is available every day (not once a week), and the main dishes include sides. (I won't pay $50 for a steak and then another $10 for a potato or vegetable.) On this visit the waiter kindly split our salad, and we enjoyed an outstanding and reasonably priced bottle of white wine before consuming the red wine we brought. Many of the desserts come in half-portions, which was perfect. There is no restaurant in the South Bay that I like better.
I prefer steak without fuss, which is why I ordered the 10 ounce filet mignon. My wife got the filet mignon as well but with the peppercorn sauce, and she seem to enjoy it. Watermelon salad was also excellent. Didn't have to wait too long for our food; wait staff was excellent.
