Our waiter was great!
He provided excellent service.
Appropriate table to meet 12 persons. Great food and service. Works as designed. Noise level is high in this facility.
Great place and tasty food. A bit out of the way but worth the search. Had the butter lettuce salad, clam chowder, peppered filet mignon, T-bone steak, and key lime pie. All were solid dishes. Would definitely return. They were especially thoughtful about the birthday we were celebrating.
Great service, and food!
Great calamari, smoked prime rib! The filet mignon was also great.
The lunch was wonderful . The waiter was fantastic. He even remembered what wine I had when I was there with my parents two months earlier! The food was very good, as usual. Wish we would have had time for desert...
Always a place I like to go - good food, good service.
Going away for a coworker
Brittany was wonderful in accommodating an increased headcount at the last minute (kudos) 😉
I was having dinner with a business colleague. Our steaks came together. Mine was way overcooked so I sent it back. It then took 25 mins to get my meal. Our server basically ignored us for the entire time. My colleague was polite and waited for me so his meal was essentially cold. I was forced to get up from my table and chase down a server.
A manager delivered my meal and was extremely apologetic. I wasn't charged for my meal and they gave me a gift card for a future visit (which I proceeded to leave at the restaurant...my fault of course).
I know things don't always go as they should, but what happened was unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. I think it'll be a while before I go back.
We had delicious meal to celebrate our Anniversary. In hind-sight, we should have realized how crowded Birk's would end up being on a weeknight. (The last time we were there was a weekend and there were no large groups anywhere near us, so it was quite quiet.) The host sat us in an area that was "quieter" than the original area he started taking us to; however after the two large groups were seated in the same area, it became rather loud. Our dinners were very good and the service was very nice. We were surprised by the dessert sampler our waiter brought at the end of the meal. We will definitely be back to Birk's, most probably on a weekend!
I have been to Birk's several times and was not disappointed. The 16 oz blacked rib eye steak was super. Wait staff were excellent. My friends from out of state were impressed.
Everything on the menu is excellent. Steaks, Lobster, Fantastic Pork Chop (order it medium), my date loved the marscapone cheesecake.
Deeeeelicious as always! Birk's is my favorite place to celebrate special occassions.
Had a great waiter there. Menu items are on the high side but food is fantastic and a huge portion. Had enough left over for another meal at home.
Great food and service. Love it !!!
Had a great lunch meeting. Definitely a perfect choice
Good spot for business lunch. Great food. Good service.
Ordered the bone in Rib Eye, was brought prime rib instead which was sent back. Waited 10 minutes while the others in the party ate. Was offered a salad but turned down, no further compensation was offered. Expected something more from a restaurant of this caliber and status. I am a regular of this restaurant, visiting every time I’m in the Bay Area, May need to find a new go to steak place as I did not feel like a valued guest on this occasion and mix up.
This place used to be “something” back in the day but it has really gone down hill. Loud, slow service, sub par food. No offense, but won’t be going back.
Food is amazing and service is exceptional!
Birk’s is a Silicon Valley classic business lunch spot. We were tempted by the full bar. But now days cocktails are not cool with lunch. Maybe if everyone had one it would be okay. A nice place for lunch
We have been coming to this spot for nearly 30 years. If those walls could talk...we are sure many exciting Silicon Valley business deals have been done at this spot. It hasn't changed much over the years. The pasta paella is just amazing.
Great food - Steak!! Great service. All-in-all a fantastic experience.
The waiter I have had for the last two Saturdays in a row does an excellent job!
Quickly seated, excellent service, delicious and perfectly good steaks.
Service was mediocre all around - and when tried to order latte with different milk the waiter answer was no when I knew they do have alternative - was just too lazy to find out and learn .... will try avoid dinning there moving forward esp with all the new options around ... Birks need to step it up or they will lose lots of the older clientele !!!! Starting with me !
I was there for a business lunch. Sort of pricey, but excellent food and service.
My daughter’s birthday
Everything about our lunch was great with the exception of the ambience. It was a cold, rainy day. And yet... the air conditioner was on full blast. I never took my coat off and wished I had worn gloves.
Everything on the menu is great and full of flavor. The service is top rate. Sometimes it can be a little on the noisy side, but the menu and service outweigh the noise.
Birk's is going down hill. I was there for a business dinner and the table next to me was short a wine glass so the waiter took it from my place setting. We all laughed on how rude that was but then the waiter service my customer his meal with a long hair sticking out of his mashed potatoes. We brought it to the waiter attention and he promptly took my customer knife, scooped out the hair and then put the knife back down. He was prepared to walk away but we asked him to replace the mashed potatoes ... and the knife he use to carve out the hair. I fully understand this can happen at a restaurant but I would have expected Birk's to handle it better. I have no intentions on going back since the Bay Area has so many better options available.
Overall a very good experience. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals and the service was solid. I thought the prices were a tad high vs. the quality of the food, but not over the top. We were there on a Sunday night so the place was not very crowded, as a result the noise level was moderate, that may not be the case on a Friday or Saturday. I'd recommend the place to others.
Excellent service and high quality food. Marco was our server. It was nice to see the award plaques for employees for recognizing high quality service. The filet was cooked perfectly. The only criticism I have is that they charge $6 for bernaise sauce.
Everything was great. We had a really good dinner and our service was terrific.
A Silicon Valley standard. Great location. Okay food. Nice ambiance.
Overall a very good restaurant. It's been quite awhile since we have been to Birks but the steaks were, as we remembered, excellent. Wine list was very good and we were served by someone knowledgeable on the various wines and years. We visited on a Saturday night so the restaurant was fairly quite with almost no one in the bar area. During the week Birks can be quite noisy with a crowded bar. The only drawback to the evening was the waiter, while very good and courteous, who kept trying to upcharge everything. This was the only drawback to the evening.
It was a great food experience, the staff was a key to that!
