The Bird in Hand is a friendly independently owned and operated pub in the village of Mayford. Whether you are looking for a casual drink, formal get together, delicious Sunday roast or a beer in our lovely garden area we have you covered.
We offer a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails that can be paired with our fresh seasonal menus served in our formal dining area, casual bar area or large sunny garden. We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team who are here to help you enjoy your experience with us.
We are dog friendly in our bar and garden areas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children of any age may dine with us but must vacate the premises by 8pm.

Lunch this time, food was just as beautifully presented at dinner the two course option was reasonable especially for the quality we love. The atmosphere service was good as usual charming and timely hard to fault anything.

As usual the service was excellent, Emma kept herself very busy at the same time as giving wonderful service to customers. The food was absolutely delicious. It was my partners first visit here & was delighted with everything which I can honestly admit is very unusual as well as a relief!

Excellent food, good portion sizes. Service good, not overly attentive. On this occasion it was probably a bit loud for our liking, as there was a table behind us that was a bit over the top (although they were not being obnoxious or rude). However, it was not enough to spoil our evening. We have been here many times before and have never been disappointed. We will definitely be returning at some point.

Only the 2nd visit to the Bird in Hand - but another fabulous experience. Service staff were excellent, attentive but not in your face, chefs produced super food that looked and tastes amazing. We ate well, drank well - cost of food was what I expected for the quality, booze bill was high! Must drink water in future!

A very pleasant lunch at this well appointed and well-managed pub. The service was excellent and prompt - the staff were most helpful, friendly and obliging. The food was up to standard and prices are reasonable. The garden, under the awning, is pleasantly bucolic. My only gripe? (And not much you or I can do about it!) Other peoples' dogs that decide to fight while I'm having lunch. Thank you. We will return
