    We are working our way through the "25 best restaurants in Milwaukee," from a Milwaukee magazine article earlier this year. Someone suggested that Birch's tasting menu was really the best experience so we went for that. It truly was amazing - every single course was delicious, unusual, and wonderfully fresh tasting. The wine pairings with each course were even more outstanding - truly one of those rare times when each wine made every bite of food taste more delicious and vice versa.

    We had 5 people and did the tasting menu. The food was good, but not enough. Extremely small bites should have been more generous or there shoukd have been 2 more courses. The open space so noisy we had a hard time hearing each other, even though our group was small -- hard surfaces and nothing to absorb the noise. Service was professional but perfunctory, hardly any interaction. Good value but expected more of a high end experience.

    Birch… if you enjoy learning about a region thru their cuisine, this is restaurant that highlights the best of what Milwaukee and the surrounding area has to offer. It takes incredible restraint and a lot of passionate people to do what Birch can do. Their talent is they allow the natural flavors of ingredients to come forward without mucking it all up with excessive sauces/salt or worse, leaving the food bland. Their chefs tasting menu is one of the best deals I’ve seen in quite a while. It’s like a greatest hits playlist where every dish is a total banger. Chef Kyle, thank you!! You and your teams are doing a great job. “It’s worth it.” I will be back!

    The food is amazing! So many great flavors. We had 4 share plates and an entree for 2 of us. We left feeling comfortably full. The wine selection was excellent as well.
