Binkley's is the first truly gourmet restaurant we have ever found in Phoenix. The friends we took for the first time agreed that the food and presentation is on a par with the finest restaurants in NYC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans. This gem of a restaurant is well worth the drive from downtown Phoenix or anywhere else in the Valley to Cave Creek.

This place is truly one of the best restaurants I ever eaten in. And I've eaten in some of the best restaurants the world has to offer us. It was truly an adventure and fun to experience ( not just taste) the food.

We live 32 miles from Binkley's, so it is not a frequent place to visit. In fact we make a two night stay at the Boulder's in nearby Carefree. It's a quick drive (a mile or so) to Binkley's. Our son, who was a chef in New York (now in Singapore) recommended Binkley's to us and we have not been disappointed. We have only been to this restaurant twice, but we have been to two other Bink's establishments quite often. Always happy with the food and the choices.

We've been to Binkley's three times on vacation from CO. The first two experiences were fabulous. I've traveled all over the world and have often said how it's my favorite restaurant out of everywhere I've been. This last visit we brought guests and had such a disappointing experience. Normally the service is impeccable but this time, it seemed like no one cared or was paying any attention. No one was clearing the amuse bouche plates between courses, they were just pushing them aside when the next course came. No one cleared empty wine glasses. The maitre'd was crabby when I told him we flew in and were excited to be there. Maybe just an off night. I'll go again because THE FOOD IS STILL AMAZING!! Hope not to have a repeat of bad service.

The menu is great and so is the wine list, but the best part about this restaurant is waiting for the next amuse bouche to arrive. My favorite is the mini sloppy joe with a single waffle chip. Definitely an experience. Come hungry.

From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience - fabulous food, interestingly prepared; delightful little surprises punctuating the meal; and outstanding service from very knowledgeable staff. An evening we won't forget!!!!!

Food: Confusing, lacked balance. Dishes ranged from delicious (moist duck) to appalling (fishy trout with flavorless gnocchi). Small tastes interspersed throughout the meal, some good and others really bad e.g. a "shot" of mint flavored sugar water with chocolate spears served on a LED coaster, a table side brewed "digestif" so sweet we could not drink it. Plating vacillated from beautiful to downright tacky. Service: Servers were nice but very inexperienced. Most dishes were dropped at our table without explanation. Others were partially explained "here's the pork." Inconsistently attentive. Decor: Glass cylinders filled with marbles and submerged roses, low-pile carpet on walls... Overall: Not what one should expect for $175 pp dining.

Good overall experience. Went in expecting great. Went with 5 course fixed. Shrimp dish and sauce were the stars of the meal - very good. Small chefs bites in between courses were inventive and very good. Courses were well presented by the chef and well timed. Main courses were very light on the featured protein component. Service was slow at the bar (staff cleaning stemware making coffees yet no offer of drinks) and slow upon initial sit down in dining room. Ambiance/decor needs an update/refresh to be on par with price point for the menu. Would recommend the new Binks Cafe in town vs the drive up the hill to the original dining room.
