BIN 54 Ratings and Reviews
My family and I have eaten at Bin 54 numerous times in the past and have generally had positive experiences. The food, while not overly creative, is well prepared and of high quality. Overall, Bin 54 is a fine example of a traditional steak house. However, on this occasion, the service was so terrible as to verge on comedic.
Much, but not all of the problem comes down to a very inexperienced and untalented server. First, after a lengthy delay the server came to our table. She announced the specials and asked if we had questions. We indicated that we did not have questions and were ready to order. Instead of taking our order, the server walked away. After 10 minutes, she returned and we made very clear that we waned to order.
Our first course arrived timely and was well prepared. After the first course was cleared, we waited 40+ minutes for the main course. Our server never came to check on us or explain the long wait. Also, we were sitting near the kitchen and it was disappointing to see our side dishes sitting under the "warming light" for 20+ minutes while the kitchen finished preparing our main dishes.
When the food finally arrived, the side dishes were lukewarm and soggy from sitting around. We politely asked for them to be replaced with fresh items. Shortly thereafter, we received 2 of the side dishes of which we had ordered only one. In addition, my duck breast main dish was ordered medium. One end of it was almost medium, but the other was cold in the center. Our server never came by to check on the main dishes.
The manager did comp us the side dishes and the first course, but this seemed like very little compensation given the overall experience. To cap off all of this, the server placed a to-go bag with desserts on our table as we paid the check. However, when we were walking to our car, the server chased us into the parking lot saying the bag was for a different table and demanded that we return it to her which we did.
We will not be returning.
We get to Bin 54 about two times a year. We have never been disappointed and the service is always great. We like that the feature cocktail actually has a pleasant, smiling face to go along with its name:) We only wish they would bring back the Cheddar Cheese Grits as a side.
Wonderful experience- great food, warm and personal service, comfortable and inviting space. All of the food was excellent, so it is difficult to select a standout. We especially loved the welcoming sommelier with his huge smile. Thank you for a memorable night!
Appetizers were great, service was phenomenal. Steak was crazy expensive ($70 for aged NY Strip/delmonico-16 oz) Horribley overpriced, arrived very very rare and was tough and way below average in quality and taste. I do not think I will ever return. If this was Western Sizzlin and steak was $15 maybe worth it. Never been so disappointed in food quality/value.
Sides were great, appetizer wonderful, and service nice. But wow, that steak at $70 was just ridiculous!!
Outstanding steaks (best filet mignon in all the world) and wine list...and the service: from the moment you are greeted at the entrance, to the excellent servers and bartenders, to the super knowledgeable and attentive management (Perry even has an excellent cocktail named after him)! Amazing!
The service was great. The food was amazing. The restaurant was really loud, so I had to yell across the table. However, the ambience was sofisticated with great mood lighting. Try the banana pudding!! It was fantastic. It's definitely the best steak in town.
