BIN 54 Ratings and Reviews
Appetizers were great, service was phenomenal. Steak was crazy expensive ($70 for aged NY Strip/delmonico-16 oz) Horribley overpriced, arrived very very rare and was tough and way below average in quality and taste. I do not think I will ever return. If this was Western Sizzlin and steak was $15 maybe worth it. Never been so disappointed in food quality/value.
Sides were great, appetizer wonderful, and service nice. But wow, that steak at $70 was just ridiculous!!
Outstanding steaks (best filet mignon in all the world) and wine list...and the service: from the moment you are greeted at the entrance, to the excellent servers and bartenders, to the super knowledgeable and attentive management (Perry even has an excellent cocktail named after him)! Amazing!
The service was great. The food was amazing. The restaurant was really loud, so I had to yell across the table. However, the ambience was sofisticated with great mood lighting. Try the banana pudding!! It was fantastic. It's definitely the best steak in town.
There is getting more competition for up-scale steak houses around town. While Bin 54 continues as a good choice, I've enjoyed on several occasions, I feel they may need to pick up their game some. The steaks and sauces were very good as usual, but the service was a bit lacking. I felt as if our server was rushing us. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine, and neither server nor hostess refilled our glasses... a small thing, but at an expensive steak house one expects more "nice touches." It may just be a bit of an off night, but there are more good restaurants around who would be happy to get our business.
Our family to Bin 54 for a special birthday dinner. It was a small, quiet affair, and at the end of our meal the staff was very discreet in bringing a small plate of macaroons with a candle so no one was embarrassed. It was an unexpected touch which was not prearranged yet very much appreciated. Our dinner party each ordered the salmon, a 6oz filet mignon and a hangar steak, and we shared whipped Yukon gold potatoes, Brussels sprouts and steamed spinach which were all perfectly prepared. All-in-all it was a fabulous night, with particular thanks to our attentive server who didn't rush us, yet was available whenever we requested.
We wanted to have anice meal to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary so we asked people we knew what they recommended. The recommended choice was BIN54.I enjoyed two glasses of wine and the bartender told my wife the only iced tea was in a bottle. She said the hot tea was excellent. We shared a large filet. Add two excellent side dishes and one tasty dessert and you can spend $150.00 plus tip. For our special occasion, it was perfect!
Their steak is amazing. My wife and I have been there twice and agree that it's the best steak we've ever had, both times. We went for our anniversary, but if we could afford to, we would love to eat there every day. The sides were very good, and the dessert is great, and a very good value, compared to the rest of the menu.
Having been to Bin 54 a number of times, we have never had superior service but this latest reservation left me not wanting to come back. First, we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. Next, the service was abysmal. Took more than 15 minutes for the staff to pour two glasses of wine and deliver them to the table (after waiting for someone to come by and take our order), spacing between courses was entirely too long, a staff member asked "you done?" when they noticed we had been sitting with plates for an extended period of time. My favorite was watching the staff clean up and smelling the cleanser while I tried to finish dessert and follow up on where the double espresso was that we ordered (had to get out of my seat to do so). The lack of service is not excusable.
Always delightful. Been many many times. Never a bad meal. I actually don't eat red meat and am mostly vegetarian and their seafood and veggies are delicious. (And I'm a bit picky). Their cocktails are also wonderful and they have a great wine selection. Highly recommended.
This was a phenomenal dining experience. Everything from start to finish was PERFECT. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly, the wine recommendation was delicious and the special duck appetizer was dreamy. Our server was absolutely wonderful and we can't wait to return. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. Thank you, Bin 54, for the very best evening! My husband absolutely loved his surprise birthday dinner.
steak..............which we expected to be tender............was very tough. 2nd time this has happened. in each case a "gift certificate" was awarded as consideration for our "problem". frankly more $$ does nothing to deal with this situation. we ll probably not go back.
