My wife and I chose BIN 54 to celebrate our daughter's graduation from law school and were extremely please with our choice. Our server, GJ, was excellent. He was very attentive without being intrusive and made us feel as if we were in his own home sharing a meal. We were seated in the rear of the restaurant which we found to be very cozy as we listened to the rain fall on the metal roof. My daughter and I had the filet while my wife had the NY Strip. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the accompanying side items were delicious. Our entire experience at BIN 54 was excellent. I would highly recommend BIN 54 to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. My suggestion to anyone looking to enjoy a meal at BIN 54 during graduation weekend is to book your reservation as early as possible. We booked a couple of months prior to graduation weekend and almost all the tables were already spoken for.
Price fixe menu when we were there—great selection and food was very good. The desserts were a disappointment though—clearly had been made ahead. Cobbler was cold.
Great food, service, and al
Really a splendid dining experience. Outstanding prime rib and filet mignon as well as romaine wedge salad and caesar salad. Waiter was attentive but not fawning. He anticipated needs exactly as to timing. This was an extraordinary dinner.
Prices were way too high. In addition, the portions were tiny and both my boyfriend and I left hungry. My steak was nearly inedible, which was extremely disappointing since it was over $40. The steak had a strange chemical taste to it, and I found myself gagging on the meat and nauseated by it. My boyfriend's steak was much better than mine, but was still not worth the price. We were so excited about celebrating our anniversary at Bin 54, but both left extremely disappointed. I never write reviews on restaurants, but I was so disappointed by this meal I felt like I had to review Bin 54. It might have just been an off night for the chef, but I would never go back and would not recommend it to anyone. Frankly, I could have made a better dinner for us with a cut of meat from a local gas station. So disappointing and we will never return.
First visit celebrating our anniversary.
Nice restaurant, felt like an old time steakhouse. We enjoyed the ambience.
Food was so, so. In our opinion, at this price point there are other better options in the area. Steaks were not as good as the reviews indicated. Again, our opinion.
Service was attentive, a bit pushy at times with a constant up-sell. The constant up-sell became a bit of an annoyance.
Finished the meal with a complimentary one ounce pour of champagne. We felt they could have done better with that part of the visit.
We probably will not be returning.
This is a great steak house that attends to every detail. Service is professional and attentive. The selection of wines is excellent. It's a special occasion place for us.
Great service, not too busy so nice atmosphere to have a good conversation. The food was prepared perfectly—the flavors were amazing.
As always, Bin54 does not disappoint. We were there for a friend of mine’s promotion celebration. Wine was great, food was amazing as always and the service was perfect.
Fantastic evening with great service and excellent food. The soft shell crab special was a treat. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Tried both Tartares and the beef outshined the tuna which was in need of a little more flavor/spice. Sides were also good...the spinach was the table favorite.
The quality and taste of the food was not worth the very high price tag. We ordered the steak tar tar and it came with burnt potato chips that totally overpowered the taste of the tar tar. We also ordered the calamari and it was very tough and hard not soft and chewy like calamari is expected to be. The steaks were okay and the side dishes were nothing to rave about, very average (we got the brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese).
We were celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday with a quiet romantic dinner. Our waiter Lawrence was very knowledgeable about the menu making the best recommendations. My husband totally enjoyed himself.
Keep up the great work.
The bacon app and scampi special apps were great; the steaks excellent over Hickory wood with Shallot Sauce making it so delectable. The sides were awesome as usual with sauteed spinach and potato puree. All of this fine dining was made possible with 2 fine bottles of Brunello from Italy.
It all began at the bar over fine Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay, one of the very best made.
I never order dessert but dessert showed up in the form of legendary restaurateur George Bakatzias. We had a good hug and many smiles and laughs. Like old times dating back to 1980.
I want to thank Heather and the fine staff, from the servers to bartenders. Everyone smiling and seeming very happy and passionate at BIN 54. Great experience!
Always consistent food and service! The porch seating is nice and quiet.
Fine Brunello and Filet Medium Rare with Shallot Sauce So Delightful. Business Associates from NYC and Philly attended, and they normally eat at chains like Morton's and Ruth's Chris. They were wowed at the steak preparation and the wood fired stove for grilling but also loved the appetizers, such as lobster Gnocchi and the scallops. The family style veggies and potatoes were super too. All in all it could not be a better experience.
Food and service was excellent. Best steaks we’ve ever had!
Absolutely delicious food- the banana pudding was the best dessert I have ever had and the wine list very extensive! Our server, Vicky, was wonderful and the atmosphere quaint and intimate. Would definitely return.
Love the service and food. Yummy banana pudding!
When you have a reputation for recruiting top-level talent, like Duke in basketball, then you set your expectations higher than they would otherwise be if the basketball talent was, say, at NC State’s level. Bin 54 has a reputation for offering top of the line service and food, especially meat. I consider them the Duke of Triangle-area steak and fine wine restaurants. It didn’t reach my expectations. That’s not to say it was bad; it wasn’t. The service and food were decent, the meat acceptable, if it was compared to NC State. But for me, I expected Duke-level food and service, so my dining experience was like Duke’s year has gone so far. Over promised yet under delivered. There’s always a chance that both Duke’s NCAA run and Bin 54’s customer experience will improve. Time will tell.
Impeccable service, excellent prepared food... very expensive and will dine only on special occasions (which it was!)
Thanks Valerie for dining with us! We love that you enjoyed your experience at Bin 54 and hope you see you again soon for your next special occasion!
Waiter "Regan" outstanding Food was great, all the staff was very helpful in ever way possible . We would recommend to all our friends .
Thanks THOMASJ for sharing this review. Your words will undoubtedly provide great encouragement to Reagan and the entire team to keep providing a level of service that is memorable and makes our guest want to write about! We hope to see you back at Bin 54 soon! Cheers
Great food and service.
Food excellent. Ambience: a little dark on the perimeter, but could still read the menu; overhead speakers were a little loud, but restaurant was very responsive to our request to lower the volume. Service was excellent--always there when needed and questions about the menu received knowledgeable and patient responses. Beef was tender and juicy. Roasted potatoes (in duck fat) were excellent. Desserts were fine, but nothing you can't find in many other restaurants.
Thank you BUCKEYE17 for your feedback. We aim to please ALL of our guests and it is always a pleasure accommodating any needs that are brought to our attention. Our staff works extremely hard to be the best at what they do and take pride in the execution of their craft. We love knowing that you enjoyed dining with us and hope to see you soon!
Wondering food! Pricy but worth it! Great atmosphere and wonderful service!
Thanks LOVE2RUN for spreading the word about Bin 54. We are so happy know that you enjoyed your visit with us and we hope to see you real soon!
Overpriced. Plenty of better steakhouses within 10 miles.
While we know that we cant please everyone, we really hate knowing that a guest left unhappy. We work hard to improve this establishment EVERY day that our doors are open and given the opportunity we will ALWAYS do our best to make a bad experience better. We are extremely sorry that we did not provide an experience that met your standards or your price point but feel free to reach out directly to our management team if you would like a resolution to the issues you had while dining with us.
Never fails.. always consistent. Food was delicious!
Thanks SHELLEYT for your kind words. Were happy to hear that we keep you coming back... Cheers to you!
This was one of the best meals we have ever had!! The wine list was amazing. We were visiting from out of town and were very pleased with our experience. We had an exceptional server. I can’t find the words to describe what a wonderful meal and experience we had. I can’t wait to go back!
Wow! Thanks AshleyL for taking the time to share your dining experience at Bin 54 with the Open Table community. We take pride in giving outstanding service to every single guest and we're overjoyed to receive your compliments and appreciation. We hope to see here again soon and please bring all your friends and family so we can do it again!
I have been to Bin 54 many, many times. It has always been very good. The last two times, however, the steaks have been outstanding. I don't know if my mother and I were extra lucky or if they have a new meat supplier. The filet oscar style is the way to go!!
Thanks GINGKO03 for your kind words! We love getting feedback and its motivating to know that our continuous efforts to improve the Bin 54 dining experience does not go unnoticed by those that support us. While we have not changed the supplier of our beef, its is important to the entire Bin 54 team that we persist in always elevating our guests experience! When there is room for improvement we never hesitate to explore the changes we need in order to refine our art be the best at what we do!
This is the king of steakhouses in the western triangle. Everything is carried off with panache. The selection of wines is interesting, the cocktails are wonderful, and the steaks are beautifully prepared. Yeah, it's expensive, but this is something well worth paying for.
Thank you NCMATHSADIST for taking the time to leave us such a beautiful review! This is exactly what all of us at BIN 54 strive for and a compliment like this is what makes all our hard work and effort worth it.
Always a great meal and atmosphere at Bin 54! We enjoy it as much as our clients do.
Thanks TROYE for your support! We hope to see you and your clients here again real soon.
Excellent food, wine and service. I would go there again.
Amazing! Everyone needs to try this place! Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! World class experience!
Thanks for taking the time to spread such wonderful words. This is exactly what we strive for and were extremely happy to know that we did just that! Cheers to you!
expensive for the value. ambiance was OK. the food tasted good but was pricey
KC dry aged steak was an excellent piece of meat that was perfectly cooked. I asked for light on sodium and I got exactly that.
Everything, and I mean EVERY single thing about this meal and dining experience was spectacular! Service beyond compare; fantastic cocktails, appetizer of lobster gnocchi with a sauce that we dipped our perfectly crisp bread with; filet mignon done to perfection; salmon that I crave as I type this; scalloped potatoes made with magic, and creme brûlée I would want again... and our waiter? Fabulous. We left and I immediately booked this place again for an upcoming special occasion. The chimichurri sauce and beurre Blanc with respective dishes also were spectacular. Dino, our waiter...sensational.
It was a set menu and the first course was amazing, risotto. The kc strip steak that I had was mediocre. It is an inferior cut of meat compared to the ribeye in my opinion but set menu. It looked amazing and was medium as I ordered, however it wasn't hot, like it had been cooked and then held for 20-30 minutes before being brought out. Also the indication that the butter setting on top of it hadn't melted gave this away. The desert, creme brulee, was the best I've ever had. I was unimpressed with the service (I thought it took too long) and the steak (cold and overall forgettable). I would go back because we had a great time and my wife loved her food and perhaps we caught them late in the night and they were a little off.
Excellent food, great service, awesome cocktails -- always a favorite
Set menu had good choices. Neither entree was hot from the kitchen. Fixed price was way too high for the quality and size of the entrees. Our filet mignon looked like an end piece. Salad did not include a stated item. No substitution was allowed for a vegetable. Candied bacon appetizer was very good. One dessert was bland. We have enjoyed Bin 54 in the past, but they were “off their game” on Valentines Day.
ALWAYS our go to special occasion restaurant! Birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, this year Pro Valentines day (13th or 15th, not amatuer night of 14th lol). Delicious as ever and the best wait staff. We are moving soon, and this may be what I miss most of all...
