Biltmore Bar & Grill
The Biltmore Bar & Grille is a modern American restaurant in Newton, MA with a longstanding history. No corporate restaurant chain or Hollywood set designer could ever recreate The Biltmore Vibe.
In 1914, the Biltmore opened and served up breakfast and brew at 7AM for the overnight crews from nearby factories. It came with a 4 lane basement bowling alley that was a local hangout for decades.
There was talk of a speakeasy during prohibition. The Biltmore was across the street from a regional rail stop and often hosted private events for dignitaries, politicians and celebrities.
Much of original brick front and interior has remained the same over the many reincarnations of this legendary bar. The original old growth wood flooring has stood up to many timeless celebrations as well. Celebrating this neighborhood legend while serving up fresh new takes on classic dishes and drinks is what The Biltmore is all about.

Great food with a lot of options for everyone. Excellent service.
It was lovely!
Drinks were nice but food selection was limited because high likely good of nut cross-contamination (nut allergies)
Great Newton neighborhood spot. Good food and drinks. You have to try their mules. Homemade spicy ginger beer makes a great drink.
Amazing servers who deal flawlessly with patrons who are at best annoying , at worst down right rude . Love this staff ❤️
Great place for gathering. Their food has been upgraded together with price but it is worth paying the price.
Wonderful old-timey Bar and Grill atmosphere with restaurant seating and out door tables as well.
The Biltmore sounds like a really cool place; history, ambience, and location. We started our evening with two of their "mules", made with ginger beer made on premises... fantastic. Server Brenna was very nice and helpful, too. This is where it ends. We went for a mix of appetizers for dinner, the best of which was the calamari, which although good, was no different than calamari anywhere else, and for the price, should have offered something... if not something unique, at least quantity.
The "smoky" chicken wings were anything but, tasting like they got dipped into the fryolator, then sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar.
The grilled Caesar Salad was uninspired as well for the price, considering that it was merely a head of romaine tossed on the grille for a minute and drizzled with Ken's Caesar Salad Dressing.
We ordered the truffled asparagus, but The Biltmore was out of it, so we requested that the broccoli be grilled and drizzled with the truffle oil. It came out steamed with a lemon sauce, and no truffle oil.
We also learned that they were out of several items, steak tips and salmon to name two. This on the Saturday night of Fourth of July Weekend?!?!
Bottom line, if you like a cool atmosphere and a fun place to drink, this is the place for you, but for a casual dinner out, there are better options in the neighborhood.
Great food, great value! I would definitely be returning to this fun little restaurant.
Our server was excellent and made the whole experience wonderful
Nice place attentive service bartender was slammed but still checked on us and got us drinks promptly. Overall nice atmosphere and a good beer selection. Both me and my lady where satisfied. I was buzzed when I left an even got lucky
Liked my spicy chicken sandwich
Our waitress was excellent, providing speedy and friendly service
It was a fun, casual date night with delicious food! Our server was a bit overwhelmed and out appetizers and mains came out at the same time, but we had a nice time and will be back.
Great food, great service, so glad they're open for dining indoors again!
Love the Biltmore, good food, great drinks and good service
Great meal and delicious drinks under the stars! So happy outdoor dining season has returned for the dinner hour!
awesome food. great selection of draft beer.
great patio ambiance.
My friends and I came in as a group of 7 (even though I had only reserved for 6) and they were so accommodating and put us in our own private area. The food was amazing and the portions were so large for the price point. HIGHLY recommend.
Average food, some better than others. Could have more of a selection.
There are two patios here. One is with picnic tables built on the parking lot. The other is with tables of 4, inbetween two brick buildings. a little more private, about 8 tables here. Not many chance for people to be walking through. There are overhead heaters in this area.
We used to love Biltmore, but this meal wasn't OK. They had no green vegetables at all. The salads had no lettuce, just grass clippings (field greens). Prices were very high. $16 for a hamburger and $24 for steak tips. All in all, quite disappointing,
The food was wonderful! Service was great! Enjoyed being back at such a fun spot!
Food was great! We sat at the bar and bartender was very attentive ! Food was out very quickly!
We weren’t rushed to leave.
A pleasant evening out!
The service was amazing, we felt very safe and seperated from the other tables.
The food was amazing!!!!!
Friendly and efficient service
Hm. Food was extremely disappointing. There was also a spider climbing in the side of the table, ew... the servers were very nice and welcoming. I also noted that they played a Spanish song which was awesome!
Very good pub food. Menu during pandemic more limited. Great friendly service.
Awesome neighborhood pub with great food and a couple great draft beers
COVID perhaps but far from what it used to be.
I was visiting the Newton area and needed to find a place for beer, apps and the Bruins. I could not have found a better place. I'll be back!
Great restaurant, very friendly server. Would go again for sure.
It was a disappointing experience all around. We try support local restaurants as much as possible but I will not be going back anytime soon. I saw my waitress once to take my order and that was it - food was slow to come out, no one checked on us, and I had to ask the host to get me the check. It was also cold in there, and just not enjoyable. The weekends need better staffing levels.
Brunch at the Biltmore was great. We had the first reservation at 11:30am and had a great brunch. We will be back for dinner and drinks sooner rather than later. The Biltmore never disappoints.
We were looking for a local heated outdoor patio for dining, we're not quite comfortable with indoor dining just yet and the Biltmore was fabulous! Good food and drinks. Loved the firepits on the patio. Our server Jenna was the best! We will be back.
Great food great service! Would definitely go again.
Jenna was fantastic. Great drinks, fantastic food. My fiancé and I already booked our next reservation.
showed up on time for reservation, did not want high tops, and when we asked for floor level table the hostess snapped "you have an hour and 15 minutes, we have lots of reservations tonight." LOL, we had a reservation. Thankfully our server Seth made up for her lack of customer service and we enjoyed the rest of our time there thanks to him.
Food was great, can't go wrong with Popcorn Chicken and the fried Pickles. Peppercorn filet was fantastic. The food and people like Seth will bring us back.
Good food, great service and a cozy ambience. Great spot!
Sat “outdoors” in the covered alley. Service and food were good. There are heaters and fire pits that the hostess turned on for us. Enjoyed our time.
Sat in the outdoor heated patio, it was a little cold but I was still able to eat safely outside during winter which was great! The staff was so so nice and really enjoyable
