Biltmore Bar & Grill
In 1914, the Biltmore opened and served up breakfast and brew at 7AM for the overnight crews from nearby factories. It came with a 4 lane basement bowling alley that was a local hangout for decades.
There was talk of a speakeasy during prohibition. The Biltmore was across the street from a regional rail stop and often hosted private events for dignitaries, politicians and celebrities. If the bar could talk, the stories would fill volumes!
Much of original brick front and interior has remained the same over the many reincarnations of this legendary bar. The original old growth wood flooring has stood up to many timeless celebrations as well. Celebrating this neighborhood legend while serving up fresh new takes on classic dishes and drinks is what The Biltmore is all about.

My comments about quiet conversation are certainly limited to brunch/quiet times. Great bar, but noisy at night.
Vibe was great - food was mediocre!
Our server and the host were both extremely attentive and did all possible to make our dining out experience pleasant and delicious. We are a group of four where two of us have specific needs. The Biltmore always provides good food and a welcoming comfortable atmosphere. Why we rerun often!
The salmon was excellent as were the burgers. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Bonus was we were there for trivia night. All around, this place is a great place with great food!
Very reliable neighborhood spot for superb burgers and interesting, always changing selection of beers. Can be quite loud on the bar side. Service is hit or miss, but never too bad.
Solid gastropub. Our 5 year old always loves the kids chicken and waffles. God steak tips, burgers, flat bread, fish tacos, etc. Nice selection of craft beers.
Found this place by chance really. Wasn’t expecting much.
Made the reservation, turned up...
...took them a while to seat us, and although we requested a low seating option, we got a high top. It was surprising comfy though.
A quiz evening was going on, so it was a little noisy, but not too bad considering.
Food was fantastic!! Seriously, it was! Waiter was pleasant, and made us feel at ease and gave us recommendations which were spot on.
Place was nicely lit, and we enjoyed being there.
A chance find, but a place we’ll return to for sure!
Way too loud! Otherwise decent food but could not hold a conversation.
Pre game tailgate for BC game. Perfect. LD
Terrible! What is going on at the Biltmore? Stopped in on a Monday night - they were not overly busy. Rudest waitress said to us that someone would seat us. After 10 minutes we say ourselves. Food was ok - nachos were cold. This is the second time we’ve come in the past few weeks and food was cold then too. The best part of our night was after we were leaving and saw friends at the bar. We chatted for awhile and kept getting huffing and puffing and sighs from our waitress. That was before she spilled a drink all over the floor near us! We work down the street and won’t be back anytime soon!
This place is great , food is excellent and people are the same. Definitely head back...
Our server was excellent, a young man, we see often at Biltmore. Sorry I don’t know his name. I had to give special instructions for my meal due to a health issue. Our server listened attentively, responded kindly and my food was prepared perfectly. Everyone else in the party said their food too was delicious! Service and delicious food bring us back regularly. Thank you!
We were there for Red Sox World Series win on Sunday night, so the place was busy and full of fun. Wait staff were terrific, the food was very tasty and the drinks and cheese plate were fabulous. We'll be back!
Best burger I ever had! First time there and a great surprise that the food was great.
Always love this place, but maybe tonight was an off night. The food had a heavy had with the siracha sauce, especially on the fish tacos and the flatbread was just meh. The appetizers were good but this place has always been my go-to place, but I'd rethink it if the next time it's also off.
The apple crisp for dessert was way underdone.......as well as the bok choy side with the salmon. Otherwise, had a nice experience and will return.
Not quite what we expected -- more of a bar scene with a restaurant attached. Food was decent but spendy for what amounted to upscale bar food.
Great food, great service and even better atmosphere!
Some confusion at check in, however many tables were open. Drinks were nicely done, we had the blackberry mojito and then for dinner the fish taco's as well as the fish and chips. Food was warm not hot and the batter could have been changed , thick coverage on the fish. Would go back again to try something different as the music and crowd was vibrant.
From the hostess to the waitress to the food everything was perfect
They gave our large group plenty of room and time for our farewell party
Good local bar. Limited menu
Great place to enjoy a bite - fun with friends
Food is always good - we had a new waiter .. he was a little unsure of certain dishes, etc. but made an awesome effort and did a great job
We come here often -always a fun place to hang out
Short handed in kitchen. It was one hour between placing our order and being served our dinner. They did bring chips and guacamole and reduced our final bill. We come here often. I would definitely come again but not too soon.
Good drinks, fun, comfortable. Waitress the best! Fun, casual food fare - very tasty
Decent menu. Server was good. Food came out quickly. Nice neighborhood bar, though we were in dining room. Would go back
My first time and don't plan to return. Was not expecting to have to eat off the Brunch menu at 2:45pm on a Saturday. Food was nothing great, place was empty. Service was bland and could have made an effort to be more friendly. I expect a great lunch bite and didn't get it here.
Great little place with very cool decorations ! Would love to meet the owner. Good food. Food service. A nice surprise if you are in that part of Boston area. Would certainly go back!
Food was awesome! Great beers too. Only downside was the service was uninspired. She didn’t know much about the beer and didn’t seem enthusiastic about anything. This is the second time I have eaten there and the service was the same way both times, not rude at all, just lack-luster.
We’ve usually loved this place, but we were disappointed tonight. We had a reservation but were told that there was only an outside table available for us on a 90 degree evening. Though all the outdoor tables were empty, we were placed at one on the far end with one chair backed up to the rear door by which numerous patrons entered the bar. On request, we were allowed to move, but it felt like an odd placement. The outdoor space overall is closed in (it has s covered roof) and suffers from terrible fumes whenever anyone steps outside of the restaurant to smoke. We would not accept an outside table here ever again.
Went for trivia. Buffalo Cauliflower is out of this world!
I have eaten at the Baltimore twice. The food, ambiance and the eclectic diners keep me coming back. The burgers are excellent. However, I rated the service poorly this time because our appetizers took 45 minutes to arrive. This was not due to our very attentive server, but the fact that the kitchen was backed up for unknown reasons. Overall, I will continue to visit the Baltimore.
We love the Biltmore and always feel at home. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is very "southern hospitality" meets New England.
Very loud and energetic in the bar area where I was seated. If you want a lively bar on a Friday this is your place. Not much else going on in this town at that time. Food was good, service was good. Beer selection is very good. Portions on meals I observed coming out of the kitchen looked more than adequate. Ribs I got had some tasty sauce, but were quite fatty.
Food was okay. Had the smoked salmon and capers on flatbread. Salmon was good, but the flatbread was basically a big, dry cracker. Nothing special. Friend’s fish and chips were overly oily. Waitress finished her shift right after serving our dinner and asked us to pay out before she left—never asking whether we might like coffe or dessert, and waitress who followed her didn’t ask, either. Might be a great place for drinks, but not at all competitive for dinner.
Small but fun atmosphere with nice outdoor seating. Fish tacos were excellent and entire menu is very reasonably priced. Nice waitstaff too. Would def go back.
Good variety of seating, food and drink options. Consistently good food across several different meals
This is a very casual neighborhood restaurant which is loud, fun and in an interesting building. The food is surprisingly good for such a setting. One would expect pub food quality but this is far better!
Great last second decision to come here, thank you Melanie
We usually sit outside but it was too hot for that this time. This is a great place- a bit noisy inside but in a boisterous and friendly way!
