Wanted to love this place, but we had poor service from the start. No hostess greeted us as we stood in the door for nearly 5 minutes. We had to catch someone & ask if we could be seated. Once we sat, it took a disappointingly long time for someone to greet us at the table. We placed drink & food orders together, right away, and fortunately the food did come out within a reasonable time frame. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was okay, but the chicken & waffles was so bad we had to change the order - burned, dry chicken wings atop a crunchy, very dry waffle served with ketchup & maple syrup... didn't match the description on the menu. We were really hoping for an awesome brunch experience.. this was not it.
We went on a Saturday night for dinner. Bar area was very lively and the dining room where we sat was quieter. We really enjoyed our food and had a nice night overall.
Good consistent food and service here, plus a good variety of American food
Service was great, food was good. Very comfortable setting.
This experience was ok,, but not great.. my order was partially wrong,, and the attentiveness of service staff was mediocre.. at one point I had to go find aserver to get silverware after the food was brought out..
I use to come here often, mainly because if their homemade ginger beer. this is about the only thing that will keep me coming back. they had a better menu with a more creative chef and liked the dishes the menu has been brought back to basics. sumple comfort foods. nothing special. a very average place.
Bad service, reservation with no table. No host to seat us. Drinks took forever then left when we didn’t want to wait another half hour for our waitress to come back ovwr
Terrible food and service manager very good with our concerns over food
Food was delicious and simple as always. But, I’ve never had such bad service. The waitress took way to long to come take our orders and then never came to check on us. After we were done eating we had to find her for the check!
Bar area was very loud and grilled chicken on top of my salad was charred. Everyone was really friendly but food and atmosphere could have been better.
We had a reservation at 6… we sat at 6:07, we were waiting in line to get in… we got our first drink at 6:45. We waited and waited for our waitress the whole night. Ordered an app when we got our second drink… the app arrived at 7:39. It was just okay. Terrible service.
Good food at good price.
Could be better the options are limited but the burger was good
I so, so, so wanted this place to be better. The menu looks amazing, the trivia was exciting, the drinks appear creative and tasty as heck but it all fell short and it was beyond disappointing. First, I stood at the door yesterday after I arrived without anyone seating me for so long the people sitting at the bar asked if I needed help getting someone's attention, cool. Mind you a server walked passed (conveniently stayed to the other side of the bar so as to not have to seat me), spotting me each time, 4 times. Then of the 5 drinks we order, they're all out of 3, cool. The PB&J slider, while looking SO good on their IG today (making me very jealous), was extremely plain and looked nothing like that photo. There was perhaps an iota of PB on it somewhere, but not enough taste it at all. Then our meals come out and his is the cod. Problem? He ordered a sandwich. So we both pick at mine until his finally is cooked and comes out. Then when we are all done and ready for the check because it's inching awfully close to my bed time, the fire alarm goes off so we can't pay...or leave. I don't know if this was their fault or not - certainly may not have been - but it didn't exactly help the experience. The ONLY saving grace is that the bartender is insanely friendly, extremely diligent, clearly hard working, and she cares. We will be back to give it another go, only because of her.
The food and service was okay, but they let many COVID protocols slide, including mask wearing while not at your table. There were numerous times when the bartender/server also had his mask around his chin.
The service was great, however the food is really below average. They took the few vegetarian/vegan items they had off their menu, so it was very hard for me to find something to eat. The menu also is odd with no focus, serving tacos, burgers and pizzas, too much meat and cheese for our liking. The drinks were good and the pricing is good. We sat outside and although it was a great warm night they had no outdoor lighting which we found really odd for a restaurant to not be prepared with outdoor lighting and heating during the pandemic. Despite all that I'll be back as it's one of the few locations in downtown Reading to eat at with a patio! I just wish/beg/hope they add/change their menu soon!
Fun crowd and great energetic and attentive staff!!!
Nachos were very limited. Just tossed chips in a bowl and threw in microwave for a minute. 1/2 the chips had cheese. Portions and quality were much better before COVID.
Our server was attentive and delightful. Food was good but a little too spicy for my delicate palate but I can never pass up swordfish! We were there for trivia nite which was a nice addition to the evening tho we found the questions hard but we were delighted to not to come in last. Trivia host was quite entertaining!
The salmon was delicious - perfectly cooked and quite tasty. I wish I could say the same for the fish tacos - while there was nothing wrong with them, they paled in comparison to the salmon and aren't something I'd order again. Will certainly go back and try some other items - the burger looked pretty fantastic ... maybe next time.
So happy that Biltmore is open and so happy to see guests. Great service, they are working hard to make everyone feel happy and safe dining out!
First time there. Great staff, good food. Nice place.
Food was unexpectedly good! We were expected more traditional bar food (burgers, apps, etc), but were pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality on the menu. The steak tips and Bolognese were both fantastic, as well as the fried fluffernutter for dessert! The ambience was great for a Sunday night when we didn't feel like cooking at home!
We went on a busy Saturday night where there were only three staff working in the front of the full restaurant. The service was still so nice and quick and the food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend.
The service was great and the flights were yummy. I enjoyed the dinner I chose, but thought the menu was slim.
Great night out for Mom and Dad! Great food and big portions!
I didn't. Like the bourbon tips but the apps were great and the service was excellent.
Hamburger with grilled bar b q onions was excellent
great food and staff is amazing. Atmosphere is very good
I have never written a negative review, but here it is...
We almost and should have walked out. Not COVID compliant.
Waitstaff wearing mask with nose exposed. Vulgarity shouted by bartender/waitress shouting “last call”...”we’ll be out of here soon”.
Guests seated at bar loud and unmasked. 2 walked out unmasked.
We have visited B&M several times, always a good experience.
Management should improve situation.
First time back since Covid hit. Food service still great. Limited menu but totally understand why 😊
We ordered salads apps and drink the salads were fresh and good and the drinks were great I go back they do have a limited menu but that’s fine as a big menu can be overwhelming go place to go wished they had the fireplace on
The food was really good and the staff was super friendly. Limited menu was the downside.
Food and drinks are delicious and service is friendly, knowledgeable, and great!
Love coming here. The food is always delicious!
Limited menu. What they had was good. Servers were nice but slow.
Service is always on point and everything on the menu tastes great
Great night, the staff went above and beyond to provide a safe and enjoyable night. Food was delicious!
Food was cold, service very slow , and they didn’t have any cream for after dinner coffee, really? Was their first night, but menu had changed for the worse.
We were pleasantly surprised. It’s a bar on one side but a quieter restaurant on the other side. The food and the service were both excellent.
We really enjoyed this place. The food was good as were the spirits! I’d definitely recommend it.
