Beef Wellington was excellent as always. Our server Gillian was outstanding!
I love this place. The food is always great and the Beef Wellington is my favorite. I have it all the time.
The food and ambience were first class. The waiter and maitre d were extremely sensible and service-oriented. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food but found it was rather expensive for an everyday kind of place. Best for special occasions or client entertainment.
We would all go back. Excellent food and ambiance. Service was excellent
Food is always good. Unfortunately the menu is always the same.
Loved the bar and the bartender. Piano music was nice. Overall it was a great experience. We were never rushed, service was excellent and it was a quiet atmosphere so it was easy to carry on a conversation among our table. The food was excellent although just slightly over priced
Loved this place. Service was impeccable and everything we ordered was great. Pork chop is crazy
The service was extraordinary, but it was overshadowed by the quality of, and care taken with the creation of, every dish presented to us. Highly recommend if you're on a flexible budget.
Loved the music, wish the piano would have been upstairs in the dining area.
Felt warm and inviting upstairs but down stairs where the music was less so.
It was a quiet Saturday in the upstairs dining room, to which my siblings and I (table of 7) sat down with a volume slightly higher than the tables around us - the host was lovely, the service was professional, and the design was thoughtful and gorgeous. Would go again.
Excellent food and service. The beef Wellington is exceptional!
This is the second time we went to Bills and it didn’t disappoint. The Kobe burger is one of the best in the City, and the meatballs and gravy are phenomenal! The waiters are very friendly and provide excellent service. I would highly recommend Bills.
Excellent food and friendly service. Maybe the best place for a business lunch in midtown.
We were charmed by the ambiance at Bill's as we looked out our window from the L'Elysee Hotel across the street and opted out of our downtown dinner reservation to go to Bill's instead. Not disappointed. It had the perfect atmosphere for a lively drink before dinner and then an intimate, delicious meal following. This included excellent service as well which made it an overall perfect experience for us.
Held a business meeting over lunch with folks from out of town. Great experience, good food and service with an upbeat vibe. Highly recommend and will visit again.
I am so glad that a restaurant came back in this space. It's a classic, such an old tavern feel with a menu of a 4-star restaurant. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal in an interesting setting with a lot of history. They serve a little later than most and the staff is friendly.
Consistently great food and service. Wonderful, pleasant place for lunch. I never get tired of it.
The food was excellent but the hostess by the entrance was rude and nasty and unhelpful.
My family and I loved the food and the staff is amazing
Excellent food and service. Beautiful old townhouse. Date night place
I met my luncheon guest at the bar room, where I've dined before. This time, the noise level was almost deafening (it was a Friday and others were celebrating the end of the week). Service was very good. I recommend the chicken sandwich. I'm sure there are other excellent offerings, but the chicken sandwich is well worth the noise. I'll be back, but no at the bar on Friday.
Housed in a 120+ year old townhouse. A really cool place and very popular Food was very good and service matched
Very busy bar scene with mostly younger crowd ( late 20's to 40ish?). Upstairs restaurant fairly sedate and very old school. Decent food, fairly priced wines, and excellent service
Quite unassuming. Once you head upstairs from the noisy and boisterous bar, you enter into a cozy dining hall that welcomes you. We were seated at a booth next to a window, and although it was drafty, it was very comfortable. The wait service was attentive and knowledgeable. The waiter announced the specials for the evening, and we decided to go with one (asparagus soup with shrimp). The soup was delicious, and the shrimp carried through the soup. I ordered the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. It was hearty; the short ribs were braised to perfection, the mashed potatoes was plentiful, and the spinach wasn't necessarily my favourite. There was too much on the plate for me to be able to finish the whole meal. It was a bit pricey in my opinion at $38. So was the wine that we ordered (Solocontigo). Unfortunately we had no room for dessert. I would recommend Bill's Townhouse for a nice evening out for dinner.
Order the salmon
Classic NYC, excellent food. Service was great. Lively ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
First time and loved everything about this place.! Service was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. We had the shrimp cocktail and baked clams for appetizers and the whole branzino and grilled salmon for entrees. Would recommend all. Even desert - the cinnamon apple cobbler warm and a la mode. Ambiance great for a date or friends get together. Perfect on a cold wintry night. Will definitely return.!!!
I had been wanting to come here for a long time. I would put this on the top of my list of awesome places to recommend. Very unique venue, amazing food and extremely friendly and attentive staff. Can't wait to go back again.
Great place to comfortably dine and have a conversation Pleantybof space between tables and low noise level.
Green beans were soggy, but branzino was good.
Apple cobbler was way too sweet
Food, service and ambiance was excellent! We will be back!!
I think this is a great lunch spot for a business meeting
Great atmosphere. Great service. Delicious food
Excellent food and service
We had a late reservation and it was apparent that the staff was ready to have the final remaining tables gone.
Steaks and pasta are wonderful
Bday & Valentines!
If on business and my company was paying for its....yes, I'd recommend it. But, if I'm paying for it, no, I would not recommend it. We ordered a bottle of wine and we ordered one of the cheapest - it was $80!! I only ordered one item, the pork chop. It was good, but the waiter said it came with greens and apples. The greens were minimal and the apples were part of a sauce. The ambiance was superb, but the cost was much higher than anticipated.
Old school, down to earth, top class sevice. Delicious.
