COVID measures aside, it took about 1 hour to get our main, nobody asked us in all that time if we wanted another drink !
I had to call the waitress over to ask if we’d been missed , which I think we had ! They then rushed out our very average food which we finished to be told that “sorry we can’t do desert as the kitchen has closed” It was my only Christmas meal out with my daughter. This would put me off returning to be honest!!
Excellent table, even more excellent food! Stuff as always super friendly and the cooks super fast! Love Welywyn’s Bill’s!
Service was a bit slow but we understood and waited patiently as it was full.

Fantastic food and a wonderful place to eat out at.
Had to queue for ages to get in as the Covid process was so long winded. Only one member of staff letting people in. Got to our table 10 minutes after the time we’d booked for. Wouldn’t have been good if on a work lunch break. Food choices were excellent and reasonable value.

Didn’t feel Covid was being taken seriously enough. Tables and customers close together and the manager held our glasses while filling up with water!? Hmm

Our visit was delightful from start to finish. The host who welcomed us and showed us to our table was so friendly and bubbly and in addition our waitress was an absolute pleasure to speak to you!
As usual, delicious, hot food, generous portion sizes a good variety of vegetarian food available on the menu too!
We were the last to leave the restaurant that evening but the staff didn’t make us feel rushed at any point, they were so pleasant and happy!
It really was a lovely evening with a friend and everyone at Bills’ just made the evening that extra bit special. During these difficult times I really feel your staff went above and beyond, so thank you again for making our evening even better!
I visit Bills whenever I can and am going out for a meal. It is my first choice for every occasion. So friendly and relaxed with excellent food. They also take health safety very seriously.
Poor and inattentive service. Was disappointing because of this and don’t agree with an automatic 12.5% service charge being added to every bill. I think this policy leads to staff not trying and when you are paying to eat out it’s not great to leave wishing you hadn’t bothered.
Had amazing service, our waitress was outstanding
We have had far better experiences here than last Sunday. We waited over three quarters of an hour for food and then one of our party received the wrong dish to start with, this was soon replaced and the rest of the stay was good.
Very good food, accommodating for my allergies and the service was good too. Felt very safe in the current climate.
I have always liked Bills, they are one of my favourite "chain" restaurants, I have been a fan ever-since I first visited the Brighton branch over a decade ago . The quality of the food was excellent, the service was very good and we felt very safe.

Was extremely busy in there and wasn’t overly into having a dog sat on the table near us. The food was ok....but think it was extremely over priced.
The lemon meringue was nice that my husband had though.
The girl on front desk was very pleasant and the girl who took our order was also, but found the man serving our food wasn’t very friendly. And we was never asked how our meal was.
We unfortunately wouldn’t want to return as it’s just not for us.
The food has really gone down hill, this used to be one of my favourite places to go, but I won’t be going back again. I’m in shocked at how the quality has fallen.
The staff were lovely though and very understanding of my complaint, took the poor quality meals of the bill.
We had a nice table where it was less busy and less noisy. Staff were great! Efficient, friendly and not stressed. I had the chicken with a mushroom sauce, partner had a burger- both were very good. The donuts were much nicer and lighter than they looked - delicious
The food took a whole hour to be served and the waitress wasn't wearing a mask. Surely that's unacceptable when she's leaning over the table.

Booking was easy & we arrived on time as requested. We were served drinks quite quickly & they soon took our food order. 45mins later we were still waiting for the food so my wife approached the waitress to enquire about the hold up. There were not very many customers so we felt that the delay was totally unacceptable. The waitress conferred with a man, I assumed to be the manager, & came back to say that she had moved our order to the top of the queue in the kitchen. There were a couple of tables in use near to us where the customers had come in after us & who had already received their food. When we asked the bill was brought quickly & reduced by the cost of 1 of the glasses of wine as an apology. We were then told that the delay was due to a shortage of staff in the kitchen but this had not seemed to affect other customers.
The food was reasonably presented but barely warm. We felt that, for what we got, it was rather overpriced. We will certainly in no hurry to return.

Food was cold had to have soup re heated main meals disappointing. Went back because when I was last there in October the food was good and plentiful
Took my son for dinner after school and it was lovely. Food came very quickly as it was quiet. Can't wait to go back!!

Service slow, food not particularly hot and not great tasting either; wouldn’t rush back. Shame.
Wasn’t asked how I want my burger, Medium or well done. Came well done which I didn’t want. Asked for tomato sauce and actually came after I had finished my meal. Chips with the cheesy truffle sauce was congealed gunk. Will not be going back again. Used to be really good but since lockdown has really gone downhill
Horrendous. Waiting half an hour to place our order, and 40 mins later still no starter... Abismal.
Terrible service. Waited 44 minutes for drinks. 1m5 hrs for food that was cold. Frozen avo. Wet toast. They confirmed they were struggling with chefs. Really poor around. Serving staff inattentive. Manager was apologetic but such a shame. Very very poor.

Visited on a nimber of times in the past but today’s visit was poor all round, from service to food
We had a reservation for 1.45pm and didnt sit down until 2pm. We ordered our starter and main at the same time. The garlic and herb bread came (which was extremely salty) and then we waited an hour for our mains to come. We were informed that there was an issue in the kitchen, but people that ordered after us some how got their food. It was obvious that they were over booked and understaffed. The staff were lovely but that doesn't make up for the poor meal.
We had reservations for 13.30 but didn’t get into the restaurant until after 13.50. Our drinks took 30mins to be served and the food 45 mins. My portion of chips were cold.
I originally ordered eggs benedict but was told couldn’t have it as there were no poached eggs but could have fried instead!!!

Very slow service, was seated 15 minutes later that our booking time.
Booked table according to Covid rules, however, the restaurant certainly wasn’t adhering to them. Some staff had no masks, they were all clustered around kitchen hatch- chatting and waiting for dishes.
We had to ask where our food was after table next to us received their order before us. We were told that due to high volumes in restaurant they were running behind and that our time slot would not be upheld due to more than expected clients??
How does this fit in with a strict Covid social distancing?
Very noisy and a number of large parties coming through past our table, it was obvious that a couple of these groups were not from same household.
Very poor service and my meal was not as listed on menu, very dry.
Great food and good breakfast choices. Staff not very chatty or attentive but didnt matter too much
Kids sausages were really hard to cut in to and when cut were really dry. Seemed like they had been sitting in the oven for a long time and were really overcooked. Service was really good.
Standards in service and food have been going down for quite a while now, it’s nowhere near as good a venue as it used to be, slow service and luke warm food seems to be the norm now
