   The service was great and the staff were very responsive, attentive and asked good questions for preferences and requirements. My only gripe is that there is no option to request a high chair on the booking form and the seating area option has no description of what type of seating the selection is. I came with my family, with 2 children. There was only the option to book a ‘high top’ table which I now realise is a tall table with high stools. My 3 year old struggle to reach her plate. Not sure if this is something Bill’s could add to the booking form, or TopTable.

   We were sat right in the corner at back next to staff station. There was a baby screaming every now and again and I mean screaming. Not upset but for fun. These two things made our evening less enjoyable tbh.

   We were given a table that was not clean. There were marks on the table and crumbs on the seat. There was a dog sat near us that cried and howled the whole time we were there. We waited for 70 minutes for our main courses which is ridiculous! This then made us not want to order puddings as we knew there would such a delay. The food wasn’t very hot and also not very tasty - quite bland for the price they were asking. We also thought it was very sneaky to add on the 12.5% service charge which was £5 and if we had the option we certainly would not have paid this for the bad service we received. Overall not a good experience.

   As always the customer service, food and ambience was wonderful. Unfortunately it was a bit cold within the restaurant and a bit of a long wait in between courses. I would still go and recommend it to others.

   Exceptional as always . Lovely lovely Karl looked after us together with another waiter . Both so lovely . Karl understands some heartache we are going thru with our lovely Ernie boxer dog . Treated us with such kindness . . Ernie is a regular there and adored by all the staff . Bills St Albans is right up there with the best accommodating dogs and so polite . Food exceptional and service the best Charlie Moorhouse

    Our starters came and were lovely but the main course was 2 hrs coming my burger was cold my wife’s haloumi was burnt and had to be replaced after a 2hr wait. Our guests main course was half raw and half burnt . Very very disappointed

    Often eaten here for brunch/lunch and quite enjoyed it, however I was disappointed with the dinner and vegetarian options was all variations of flatbread and not particularly tasty. Service was an unusually poor compared to what I’ve experienced before. Probably just a one-off but a shame.

    Unfortunately had a bad experience, staff seemed disinterested at every stage of our meal. One of our guests main meals was unavailable which they failed to tell her at the start of the meal, then her dessert was also unavailable, again we weren’t made aware when agreeing to have desserts. Forgot the condiments with the main meals and my bowl was chipped. We had to find staff members to ask for our dessert order to be taken and then the bill. The restaurant wasn’t busy and we noticed a similar style of service was being given to a group behind us. To top it off every toilet in the female toilets were blocked or dirty.

    Overall I had a lovely time with my friends and family for my birthday lunch. We received a warm welcome and thanks from the staff. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. There was a bit of a wait in-between finishing the meal to receiving the bill. Would still go back again. Thank you

    Great service, lovely restaurant with comfy seating and staff very friendly. Shame the eggs benedict arrived stone cold. Tasted great but should have at least been warm. Put me off going again, which is a shame

    Food was good but it took 45 minutes to arrive after ordering it. The only qualm was the truffle flavour was non existent on one of the dishes. The service was good and the waitresses were very friendly.

    Food was nice but it was so late I didn't finish as we had to leave. Some of my party received cold food as well, which was sent back and they left without eating. As a business lunch Bills is totally impractical like this, we can't wait 1 hour for food to arrive so won't be back unfortunately!

    Sadly we received poor service. One main (burger and chips) was served cold - which was replaced but without any more than a " Sorry about that we'll get a fresh one for you." Then after making a dessert order of two simple dishes, we waited for over twenty minutes before deciding to cancel our order and simply pay our outstanding bill.

    Food and restaurant very good only let down by poor service. Felt we were an inconvenience by being there staff clearing glasses off table and putting lights on before we had finished even though 30 mins early for 9.15 booking.

    Nicely decorated restaurant. Lovely breakfast albeit huge and couldn’t finish it all. Good service. Little complimentary chocolate cake in memory of the Queen - nice touch. I would return but would order something a little less substantial!

    Comfortable, eclectic ambience as expected from other Bill's restaurants experience. A perfect place for my small family reunion. Sat in booth. Felt very relaxed and private although there was a nice energy going on from other diners also. I noticed Lots of space for larger parties in the back. Staff were very good and upfront about possible delays in the kitchen. Food was excellent. I would absolutely go back again on another visit to St Albans.

    Cold soggy chips, steak so tough even the steak knife provided couldn’t cut it. Chilli and garlic flatbreads tasteless. Inpatient attitude from waiter. This branch in no way compared to Westfield or Cambridge which are so superior. My advice is avoid this branch and eat elsewhere!

    I normally only post positive reviews and I am fortunate to have experienced many good dining experiences . HOWEVER for the benefit of Bills business and other guests I now find myself writing a scathing review. The floor staff were docile untrained in my opinion and rude to the point I had to raise my voice and ask the waitress to leave our table. Saying that the blonde lady and the gentleman tried to continue our service but to be fair my daughter’s birthday meal was already ruined. I’ll feel restaurant staff now don’t care as the 12.5 % gratuity is added immediately and not earned. Also they feel they can resolve all complaints by just knocking money off the bill. For us it’s not about discount it’s about good service and good food So owners please invest in your staff and make them work for the tips for good service which we are more than happy to pay. I could say lots more about the shocking service but it’s not really necessary as I’ll never be visiting a Bills restaurant again but I do hope they improve for they’re own benefit.

    Was very busy they seemed to have new staff Service was slow and my avocado on sourdough arrived first time with no eggs ! Then the desert which should have had meringue is hadn't got any in it this was resolved and was taken off the bill.
